I wish this book was funnier, as I like my romance with a few good laughs. But this was well written and an incredible heart warming tale!

I strongly disliked this book. I disliked the theme. I disliked the music. I strongly disliked the messing with memories.

The last 20% was acceptable.
The last 10% alone made it worth reading the book.

I loved the world building in this book. Often urban fantasy featuring angels and the christian god tend to be very vague and not have a lot of system to it.
There was a system here. It was explained just like a magical system would be.
And while the first book was heavily about angels, it was clear the police department dealt with more beings, and toward the end there were some hints at what the series might include.

There is something extremely refreshing about reading about an adult main character in Urban Fantasy. Married, recently separated, 3 year old child. Havelock is dealing with some realistic, and serious, stuff. Not a perky 20 year old someone whose never had a serious relationship in their life.

I found it slightly annoying how he kept noticing females, being attracted to them, but in a sense he's been blueballing himself for 6 months so maybe it makes sense. (And he gets annoyed at himself over this as well which is nice).

I'll read the next one!
