3.5 Stars. After listening to Carry On in a day yesterday I was stoked when the library had Wayward Son available in audio book, so naturally I listened to the whole book today. This book is such a tweener book, and I need a third. This book is not nearly as good as Carry on, though I did enjoy it. If you're looking for more from the Baz - Simon love story you will be so disappointed. I'm still obviously so in love with both of them! It is worth reading if only for the Brits' observations of America!

I just think Rainbow Rowell missed an opportunity to explore the walls in Baz & Simon's relationship. It was great how we got to see more dynamic sides of Penelope and Agatha, and I really did enjoy Shepard's character.

I understand why this book had to be written, but I don’t think I needed to read it right now. It was tough to read because of all the heavy themes, but I do appreciate getting to hear women’s stories on their terms and recognize that without this book they’d probably never get told.

I CANNOT stress enough how much I LOVED this book! It sucks you right in from the beginning. And it uses unique ways of telling the stories from Slack messages and tweets to contracts, emails, and news articles. Also podcast transcripts and texts. UGHHHH it’s so brilliant! And the way it follows a fat woman as the romantic lead and then the imposter syndrome she has to overcome because we are not given any stories that allow fat women to be romantic leads!!! Of course I loved following along with the production of “Main Squeeze” (this novel’s version of The Bachelor) and had fun noticing Easter eggs to the show. THIS BOOK WAS SOOO GOOD! I’m so glad I finished it but also so sad it’s over. I just want to be Kate Stayman-London when I grow up. I really feel like this whole book was written just for me. Bea is my Main Squeeze!!!!
Would love to see the real bachelor franchise follow suit and have some body inclusivity!!!

I love love loved this book! I read it in a week. I’ve spent all my free time the last 3 days in bed with Emily Henry. I see a lot of myself and my family in January and hers, though we have A LOT of differences too. But this book had me in tears and laughing out loud because of what we have in common. The character’s self-awareness and willingness to communicate really stuck out to me in a way that is usually lacking in this genre. It was also refreshing to read a book that just stuck with one character’s perspective as opposed to flip-flopping between love interests every chapter. It was fun to get to see behind the curtain of how a novel gets written. Cannot suggest this enough! Augustus and January, two months and two people that will have a special place in my heart!

The best romantic book I’ve read in a very long time! Tiffy may be the most relatable protagonist I’ve ever read in the genre!

In the first part of this book I thought it was a silly fan fiction book with such obvious allusions to Harry Potter and Twilight but with pop culture magic. And then I listened to the whole book in one day because ADDICTED!!! This is the first YA and first Fantasy book I’ve read in a while and it had all the feels!!! It was seriously Harry Potter crossed with Red, White, and Royal Blue! Now I need to get back into the genre! Also I will most likely listen to the next book tomorrow. I loved Eleanor and Park and this was so different but just as lovely!!!
