I really enjoyed parts of this and then kinda forced my way through other parts.  Reading the contemporary Irish experience has become one of my favorite subgenres.  In the end the way the story unfolded with the title was actually beautiful and left me loving the whole thing and perspective shift.

It's Chloe Liese so I loved it, but it was also one of her cornier more cheesy love stories.

The "favorite's gouda" throw in was CHEF'S KISS PERFECTION!

great representation for chronic illness and neurodivergence.

It was fine.  I liked the reveals but I just didn't care?  I think it's so interesting a man continues to write women leads. So many "girlhood" opportunities lost with this camp setting.  But I guess it all makes sense? idk

so cheesy and saccharine and almost exactly what you'd expect from Katee Robert's backlist.  Like I didn't know Mafia Romance was soooo corny. Big ick.  But have I already checked the next one out from the library? Yes... sue me! (one of these days someone will and I'll yelp)

I would not recommend this book to anyone, but I got the next book in the series... make it make sense.

a force finish which is saying something for a smutty novella audiobook. but this is what I get for getting recs from ChatGPT, well getting recs and then going with something else by that author in a different series because it was available on Libby...

some of the writing was delightful and right up my alley, but ultimately the genre and central themes are just not my vibes so it was a miss overall for me.

Glad book club picked a short little domestic horror for me to leave my comfort zone.  Nearly yacked at my desk though.

absolutely not! I hated this book.

Diem must be one of the worst FMCs ever written.  You're telling me this bish thinks being a radical terrorist is just a redflag and not a dealbreaker?

She refuses to speak to anyone or listen or trust.  And then at the end we get to see her mama is the exact same way.  Apple doesn't fall far from the annoying, irritating rotten tree.

My man Luther deserves better.  He really held me hostage through this TWENTY-ONE HOUR audiobook.

it's written with CW level spice and Disney Channel level dialogue.

In the notes from the publisher at the end they mention their "trolls" with a laugh, I hate to admit I am pre-destined to be a troll.  Lunas or whatever the Goddess's name is put a glowing Everflame-hater hat on my head that I just cannot seem to take off.  Sorry not sorry.

EDIT: skip this book.  yeah I enjoyed the first one, but hated the second book so much I will not be continuing it.  It's my first anti-recommendation in a while.

I really enjoyed listening to this!  I would say it's more fantasy than romance, but it's such an interesting world, developed characters, and a GREAT ending!
