picked this one up because I've been meaning to find an in into the marvel universe for years. and even though it's still going to come with loads of baggage I'm hoping it'll be a fairly interesting exploration of a very specific type of comics.
I initially thought I'd hate this cos it was incredibly cheesy at the start. the premise was cheesy and it's star is a bit of a brat. admittedly not much changes but it gets violent and intense and the interludes added a lot more depth to the narrative. hoping following issues live up to the hype set up by this first volume!
I was about to give this a 3 star rating, and heck, it might just be worth 5. but i binge read all of Morrison's Animal Man and was exhausted and needed to finish this one for class.
based on a lot of previous reading on Morrison's life and also his interest in chaos magic i think this made a lot more sense to me than it would have otherwise. and i think it's that recognition that led me to giving it four-stars at this point.
Morrison knows his shit and it shows.

The Walking Dead, Book Fourteen
Stefano Gaudiano, Cliff Rathburn, Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard
just plowed through the last few issues of this book and I was not expecting what happened here. it was heartfelt and beautiful. and so much else is happening but in that one moment time really stood still.
