After reading the similar [b:Charles Reid's Watercolor Solutions: Learn to Solve the Most Common Painting Problems|2105856|Charles Reid's Watercolor Solutions Learn to Solve the Most Common Painting Problems|Charles Reid|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1349097254s/2105856.jpg|2111243], I found this to be more thorough, more in-depth and more focused - and probably the source for Watercolor Solutions' summaries of figure painting.
This one has very helpful teaching about mixing various skin tones, shaping the head, painting facial features, gesture drawing to pencil and directly to watercolor, and working with the figure in composition.
I read this first from my local library. Although this book is out of print and used copies are getting difficult to source, I made sure to pick up a used copy and will use it as a workbook to guide some deeper study in figure watercolor.

Excellent summary of the pragmatism, history, stories and impact of the Viking people as their civilization rose to prominence and then to decay. As a student of Celtic history, the Vikings have always been in the picture, but now I understand their history better.
It is also interesting to read and hear the highlights of the Viking story and compare that to the Vikings TV show, which has heavy echoes and historical references for the historically interested viewer.
I heard this book an audiobook floor on my commutes to work. Most books don't translate well to audio form, but this one was very strong. Highly recommended.
