Rounded up from 3 1/2 stars. Takes a long long time to get going, but like the rest of Erdrich novels, the characters are amazing.

Fantastic book from a modern perspective. The author is clearly an engineer and thinks like one, so you actually get information, not hand wavy estimates. Yet it’s approachable, so that folks who are not of the engineering world will get great value also. Highly recommended.

There wasn't actually much information about hydroponics in this one.. much more a typical "here are some common houseplants" big section.

Another strong showing from French. As with many of her other works, it’s a bit slow to start and never break neck and peace, but it’s settled into a nice rhythm. I really enjoyed these characters and would love to see more now that we know them.

Great pacing, super fun thriller, great as audiobook too. The last third has some reeeeeeaaalllyy explainey dialogue.

This will be a great movie whenever it’s optioned.
