"I love the Cruel Prince trilogy and Jude and Cardan's story so much so that when each new book in the main trilogy would get smaller page number-wise as they came out I was so devastated, so to see a little glimpse of how they are after the main story has ended as well as seeing Cardan's past through these small stories has absolutely captured my heart!"

"Phenomenal telling of a key element of the Hunger Games saga.
Saw the ending coming but Suzanne Collins got me anyway!"

"It's a Jeff Pearlman book, so the numeric rating is easy. Pearlman's journalistic background and exhaustive research present a fully three-dimensional picture of whatever the subject.
As a fan of Bo Jackson's sports career, the insight provided by the hundreds of interviews Pearlman conducted gives a full picture of Bo Jackson, the human being. This is a hallmark of all of Pearlman's work.
If you're a fan of Bo Jackson, or have an interest in the path athletes from lower economic backgrounds travel, I can't recommend this book strongly enough."

"Wonderful delivery of a compelling story. Given the story arc, the presentation could have bogged down into melodrama. Instead, Holly Gramazio does a tremendous job of keeping the pace and tone of the book lighthearted, while still dealing with the somewhat weighty live choices facing the protagonist.
Incredible wit throughout with just enough dark humor scattered about to make the book feel a bit gnarly.
Love, love, love! Can't wait for the next book from Holly Gramazio!"

"Book of the year without question. Percival Everett's telling of the tale of Huckleberry Finn, from the perspective (and hand) of James, brings the story from the 19th century into the 21st."

"An intricately woven set of stories that are all integral parts of a larger whole. I struggled to following the disparate stories at the beginning but pressing forward was well worth the early slog. In my top 2 or 3 books of 2024."

"Brilliant look at the Viet Nam era in America, as seen through the eyes of a strong, independent woman."
