Honestly, more relatable and enjoyable than I originally thought it would be. I found myself laughing and feeling tense. 

I enjoyed the premise of the book but a lot of the characters just seemed a touch flat to me. 

I actually enjoyed seeing Nesta go from bitter, broken, and dealing with her fair share of PTSD to somebody putting in the effort to grow. I liked that she offered help to others and made difficult choices. I liked the friendships she formed. I liked how she grew. 

The timelines were sometimes confusing but overall I really enjoyed this book. I liked the multiple perspectives and how it showed familiar Greek myths happening at the same time. 

I think this book is a great starting place to learn more about the Alutiiq people on Kodiak and get an introduction to their history. 

I get having a character who can’t remember her past means that the readers are also confused, but any time she would get close to remembering, MC WOULD CHANGE WHAT SHE WAS DOING. 

I read this as an audiobook, and I would often restart chapters just to marvel at how well they were written. 

I enjoyed that the characters were older. The mystery elements were intriguing and I found myself stumped. Super excited to start the second book. 

Never thought I would cry at a happy ending, but here I am with happy tears. What a beautiful story that made me laugh, ponder, and sit on the edge of my seat. 

Oh man, what a fun read. I loved the different tones that came out in the letters. There were some characters I couldn’t stand (they were supposed to be unlikable) and other characters who just seemed like good noodles and I wanted them to be happy. This was a cozy read and it was a great choice for the first read of the year.
