Despite the five year time skip, I loved this book. The characters are interesting and easy to imagine. The plot had me in a chokehold. I’m so excited to read the next book. 

This books really wasn’t for me. It felt like the characters were cringy just for the sake of being cringy and everybody felt really controlling. I also found it repetitive. 

I laughed and then laughed some more. This was a charming premise for a book and I’m so happy that I picked it up. 

I liked this book more than I thought I would. I found myself laughing and fully invested in all the oddness that kept happening. 

This book felt repetitive in a way that didn’t really drive a point home, but almost in a way that felt like the author was trying to hit a word count? The ending also didn’t make sense to me, given everything the character went though. 

I found myself with empathetic tears in my eyes as I read this. To say that saving lives is not cost effective is not the stance we should be making in this generation, and I fully agree with Green that there is work we can do to not only make treatment more affordable, but we have the moral obligation to do so. Because TB is treatable, and by treating it, we save even more for the future generation. 

I fully enjoyed this story with the political intrigue, in depth characters, and lore. There were moments that were lore heavy, but I assume it will be important for book two. 

I laughed, I cried, and I was cheering everybody on. I read this book because my partner seemed to really like it, and this would make a great buddy read with lots of moving parts and characters you can enjoy. 

Some of these poems made me laugh and others just made me reflective.
