The premise of this was interesting, the pacing felt a little fast, and I wish there was just a bit more substance 

It was a quick read, but some of the poems are going to stick with me. I think this poetry book would have hit a lot harder if I was going through a breakup.

Both heartbreaking and witty. I hope that she gets the peaceful life that she didn’t get a chance to have. 

This isn’t a book that you read for the plot, but there is some character growth (if that’s what you want to call it) 

I wish there was more context added about Jan being sent away to the concentration camps, because there was like one or two sentences about that. 

Overall, it was a really sad and hopeful tell of a family helping people and animals through WW2. It was interesting hearing about those who went through the zoo after the war and where the children ended up. 

I ship all of these characters with therapy. Loved the different types of relationships, adventures, and challenges that were explored in this book. Can’t wait to start the second. 

I cried, this book was moving in a way I wasn’t expecting it to for a lunch break read. 

Poetry about feminine rage and how we (women) have gotten the short end of the stick for far to long. 

Daisy was relatable and witty, I would want to be her friend. 

It’s a short poetry book, and was something to read while I was on break at work.
