This is such a fun, short read - and a great look at sibling rivalry through the eyes of a 9-year-old. Definitely a good read for kids! Beverly Cleary has a gift for child emotions, much like Judy Blume does.
This book was possibly the best sci-fi/dystopic-esque book I've read. The mental health challenges faced by the protagonist and her friends are raw, real, and accurately portrayed. The angst adolescents feel about the adults in their lives was aptly amplified as a result of the Program. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat - I listened to this book on audio (brilliant reader, too) and it killed me to get to work or to home because it meant I had to take a break!
Fantastic part two of The Program! It was so suspenseful and the wrap-up was beautifully done.
