"Children do well if they can. If they can't, we need to figure out why so we can help." This line perfectly encapsulates this wonderfully empathetic and strategic book on working with kids with inflexible and explosive temperaments. Such a great read. 10/10 recommend to anyone working with kids who struggle to follow directions or manage their frustrations.

I love this as much as I did 5 years ago. This paradigm is amazing and I needed a refresher. Grateful to step back into the model.

Such a true-to-form exploration of a first love in high school. No fluff. Just pure realism.

Fantastic. This book, while presenting very similar information to The Explosive Child, is definitely geared for professionals working in mental health and, as such, the language is more clinical, but I really enjoyed reading it back-to-back with the Explosive Child, as I felt it helped really solidify my mindset in the CPS model. I particularly appreciate the myriad of role plays in this text, and the explanations of how to implement the model in schools, RTCs, and other more structured or restricted settings.

I enjoyed the latest Allie Brosh, but I do think I liked Hyperbole and a Half better.
