This was an intense, but important, read - a cross-section of American and global history as it was shaped by racism, slavery, and colonization. I learned so much that I had not yet been exposed to, including things in my own backyard in the state of Virginia.

Great overview of what implementation of Dr Ross Greene's collaborative and proactive solutions (CPS) framework on a children's psychiatric unit can look like, however the book is dated (early 2000s) and suffers some from not having the most up to date CPS model implementation. I'd love to see an updated version if the CAU is still using CPS 20 years later. :)

Phenomenal book that illustrates how important regulation and relation are when working with children, from a perspective rooted in neuroscience, and with many case study examples.
