I love Abbi Glines and the Rosemary Beach series, but I have to admit, I have found the last few books a bit wishy-washy.

But this is Captain's story, and it is one I have been waiting to come along for a while now.

And to me it is back to Rosemary Beach's best.

There has always been that air of mystery around Captain- who is he, what is it that he does. And now we find it all out.

There is something about the waitress Rose that intrigues him, beguiles him, scares him. And he is not sure what it is about her but he can't keep away from her.

And when we fid out what the deal is - BAM! Wowsers!! Was not expecting that for him!

I love the interaction between Rose/Cap. Told in both past and present tense, we got to learn a lot more about Cap than the gun for hire guy we have previously met. And I loved every second of it.

The Best Goodbye is a beautiful, tender, engaging second chance romance, and I felt this took the series back to the Rush and Woods era that I loved the most.

Now bring on Nan's story. Let's see if Ms Glines can change me from a #NanHaterForLife!

What a great book!

You know how sometimes you read a book, get to the end and think "WTH was that I just read?" - but in a good way? That was how I felt when I finished First Touch.

Emily, Reeve and Amber's story is not a light, fluffy story. Far from it. It is dark, gritty,

It starts out with a bit of mystery, and had me on the knife's edge right until the end. Emily's search for her friend Amber is always going to be dangerous, so please remain seated and keep arms and legs in the car, as you are going to be taken on one hell of a ride.

Reeve Sallis is the definition of bad boy. Dark and brooding. Rumours and innuendos add to the mystery that is Reeve. Even at the end, I still could not be 100% sure if he was or wasn't a baddie.

I so want him to be a good guy, for himself, for Emily.

Emily, Emily, Emily.... what the hell woman! I want to like you, but I don't know. Are you still just using people, or are you a changed woman? There were times I wanted to reach into my kindle and slap you!

Together Reeve and Emily can be oh so good, but they can be oh so bad for each other. They are explosive together, but could be each other's downfall.

There were a couple of things that happen with Emily and her friend Amber that at times I had to put the book down for a minute to gather my thoughts. But this is a good thing. It means I was drawn right in, was feeling things that made me uncomfortable, but made me want to read more.

First Touch delves into darker subject lie drug use and abuse, sexual domination, BDSM. There is plenty of emotion and tension bubbling away beneath the surface, just waiting to erupt.

And just when you think it might be about to happen....

BAM - we get cliffhangered.

Ms Paige amazes me every time I pick up a new book, and I can't wait for part two of this series.

3.5 stars

It has been a while since we have had Lawyers In Love series, so it was great to get back into their world.

The previous books in the series have had me laughing out loud, and whilst there were some really funny moments in this book, it just didn't grab me as much as the others have. I was left wanting more of Jacob and Abby, as the story did seem to focus more on Abby's friends and and their crazy clients more than the lawyers themselves.

It was a quick, enjoyable read and I look forward to what Ms Silber brings use next.

M/M romance with vampires. Yes please.

First, I have to say how much I love the cover. Every time I look at it, it reminds me of Angel from Buffy The Vampire Slayer (might be the Buffy marathon I have been watching)

Alasdair is a sexy, suspenseful book from the first word to the cliffhangery last. I just wanted Alasdair and Leo to get there, to make things work out.

But I will have to wait for the next book Vodafone to find out what happens with Leo,and the Vamps

Oooh no she didn't!!

I always knew that the continuation of Jacob and Amanda's story was going to be a tough one, but wow, what a ride we were taken on.

It was one of those stories that had a bit of it all. I was happy, I was sad, and oh my gosh was I frustrated.

Just when I thought things couldn't get worse for our Sole Regret boys... BAM! Ms Cunning blind sides us.

It is going to be an interminable wait to get to Jacob's next book.

But at least I have the other boys stories to get me through... And they look like they are going to be more of the same frustration (in a good way) for us readers

This is the 3rd and final installment of the Ink and Chrome series, and I though that this was the best of the 3.

We have learned little bits about Mick Roberts in the first books, and hints about "the one that got away"... but in this case, it is the "ones that got away".

Jennilyn, Mick and Adam have been best friends for a while - Mick and Jenni since childhood. Four years ago their relationships imploded and they have not seen each other in that time.

When they are back in each other's worlds, old feelings they have been trying to hide, trying to walk away from, resurface. And boy did I know I was in for a ride.

This installment is a lot edgier than the first two. Their relationship - a menage relationship - is a lot more complex than Asa and Duke's stories.

So many different issues arise, which I felt that Ms Dane dealt with well, didn't gloss over the difficulties, the prejudices, the judgements that all three encountered.

And then there was the sexy times... damn, where they hot hot HOT! When Adam's dominant side comes out - let's just say that cold showers were required for more than just our characters.

I loved that we got more of Asa and PJ, and Duke and Carmella's stories. Asa, Duke and Mick are all so close that it just wouldn't work if they weren't all up in each others business all the time! And I adored that we got a peek into how Asa/PJ and Duke/Carmella's relationships have progressed since their books.

I have adored each and every book in the Ink and Chrome series, and I can't wait to see what Ms Dane brings us next.

This is the 3rd book in The Boys of Summer series, and could be read as a stand alone, but why would you want to miss out on any of these boys.

Baseballer Gavin King's life is turned upside down when he is injured, traded and dumped. Shipped across country, things couldn't get worse for him.

Life at the Sonics is a lot different from life at the Dodgers - but that's not a bad thing. His new team mates are a pack of rascals and jokesters. His physical therapist Jess becomes a firm friend, dragging him out of his misery and dragging him back to health.

I adored both our MCs right from the start. There is an intensity between them, an attraction that can't be, won't be denied. I love the banter between them, that they got to know each other before jumping right into things.

There were some straight up laugh out loud moments in The Heat Of The Moment that had me just giggling along with our characters. The Murphy is a right old sod sometimes!

The Heat of The Moment is a sweet, light, angst-free read that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I can't wait to see who the next boy of summer will be.

You think you know the story - rock star man whore who is finally tamed by the one perfect woman. Right?

Well think again. Nalini Singh has given us something very different with Rock Redemption.

I have been waiting for Noah's story since I started this series, just knowing that it was going to break my heart.

Kit is an up and coming Hollywood star, who has been in love with her friend Noah St John forever.

Noah is part of Schoolboy Choir, Kit's best friend. He is an arsehole, a bastard of the worst kind. He is a broken man, whoring away his demons. He broke my - and Kit's heart in the prologue.

This is a much grittier, darker book than the previous books in the series, however Ms Singh drew me right into the guts of the story. It was an emotional rollercoaster **insert rollercoaster gif **- I rode the highest of highs and the lowest of lows with our characters. I laughed, I cried. It was angsty, heartbreaking.

Noah really is an unlikeable kind of bloke. He is selfish, narcissistic and just downright cruel and nasty at times. But somehow, Ms Singh has made the unlikeable lovable. It was a joy to watch him try to be a better man for Kit. To make changes, to fight his demons.

At times, as Kit and Noah were trying to make a go of a relationship, it was like a hand constricting my heart. It was painful, heartbreaking to watch as they moved 2 steps forward and one step back. But nobody ever said that the road to true love was easy - and do this pair prove that! For a romance book, there is not a lot of romance for most of the read. But I was riveted the whole time.

There was also a WTF moment - a big thing that I certainly hadn't seen coming!

I am really looking forward to Abe's story, which had a bit of set up in Rock Redemption.

Can't wait to read more.

I will tell you right now - this follows on from Ms Perry's book Bastard. I have not read Bastard, however that did not at all stop me from enjoying Luckiest Bastard, and I will be going back to read Bastard in the near future.

It does have spoilers though if you haven't read Bastard.

I adored Carter and Indi's story and what I got to learn of their family. Such a beautiful family. They have their ups and downs like the rest of us (don't you just hate when a book has that perfect family where nothing ever goes wrong - or is that just me??)

I have not read any of Ms Perry's work before (sad isn't it, when I have signed books on myshelves!). I adored her writing style - quick and to the point, flowing well.

There is also a lovely Christmas story at the end of Luckiest Bastard - and it made me want for a White Christmas!

If you have read Bastard, you need to read Luckiest Bastard.

Second chance romance? ☑
Sexy baseball star? ☑

I have loved the previous books in the Boys of Summer series, so it was a no brainer to read The Heat Is On.

Connor Jackson is a pro-baller in the twilight of his career, and is back in his home town - and back near the one that got away.

Tracy Coleman, single mum with 4 young kids is disillusioned with love, with men. But she has never stopped loving Connor, even though it has been years apart and completely different worlds.

There was still that spark, that connection when they meet up, and you just want them to have their happy! But when Tracy hides things from Connor, you just know that it is going to be struggle.

I think Connor is my favourite bad boy to date (and that's saying a lot as they are all fabulous!) He is determined, he is strong, he is sexy as hell, and he steps up to the plate when it matters the most.

What woman wouldn't want him??

I got a little frustrated with Tracy at times. When she wouldn't tell Connor about her kids, but then getting a bit annoyed when he finds out. I got her being protective of her kids - a good mumma bear - but the push and pull with Connor, gah! But that made me swoon for him just a little bit more, that he didn't run for the hills.

But seeing Tracy and Connor come together is worth all the gah! moments. To see them open up, to become more. Plus, the steam factor when things start to heat up.... smexy!

The banter between Connor and his teammates is wonderful. Such jokers, but so deep at times.

I read The Heat Is On in one sitting, and I was disappointed when I got to the final page. Ms Rose keeps me wanting more each and every time I read.

I hope we get many, many more Boys of Summer books - because, you know, those team rosters are always changing so there is always going to be fresh meat.. I mean material... to write about.
