2.5 stars..
I have had these sitting on myself for months since I won a set of the whole series, but I couldn't read them. I had to forget that they are 1D fan fic.
I still wasnt' going to read them but I was send an advance copy of Before, so I thought I better get stuck in.
Ugh, Hardin is a dick and Tessa is a door mat. Seriously, grow a pair woman and tell him to eff off. it is pretty much emotional abuse they way he treats her.
So why did I keep on reading - I just had to. I hate giving up on a book, feeling that I have wasted so many hours getting half way through.
The last 50-60 pages were a lot better than the rest of the book though.

I am a glutton, I came back for more!
But at the end of After, I had to know how Hardin and Tessa ended up.
But for every 2 steps forward, we are moving 1 step back. Hardin is still being a dick, Tessa is still taking it and taking him back. I was hoping that their relationship had moved forward a bit more then that.
But I kept reading, and when I got to the end, there was a bit of a cliffy that make me pick up the 3rd book!

I have had Chosen Thief sitting on my kindle since release day, but have only just had time to get around to reading it.
Why did I wait? I have loved the first 3 books in the Forever Evermore series, so I knew I would like this one too.
I loved that we got the 4 kings/queens from the first 3 books, and now we have their new prodigies, which brings a whole new set of fun, games and problems.
I adored the banter between Caro and Sin, so fun, flirty and sexy. But Caro, she is just the best. Love her smart mouth, the way she takes no crap from anyone and gives as good as she gets.
It took a little while to get into the story (not in a bad way). We had gotten used to the characters from the first 3 books, it just took a while to feel out and get to know the new prodigies and characters introduced. I didn't want to put Chosen Thief down once I read it.
Now can't wait for Chosen Fool in the new year!

Book three in the Legal Briefs series - woohoo! Last book in the Legal Briefs series - boooooo!!
I had other books waiting for me that needed to be read prior to Appealed - but the second it turned up on my Kindle, it took precedence.
Brent Mason and Kennedy Randolph's story goes waaay back, and I loved how we got their present and past stories. My heart hurt for both of them as we learn more about their pasts, but when they are reunited, my heart soared. I just knew that good things had to happen for them... right?
I loved how through it all, Kennedy is this strong, take no crap woman. As we learn more, she could have been the complete opposite, but she pulled up her big girl knickers and got on with life (no matter how hard it was for her).
And the fact that we got more of the characters from the first 2 books and a glimpse into their lives was wonderful.
There was nothing I didn't love about Brent. Sexy and successful, but at times he is still a 12 year old boy, or the high school guy Kennedy last knew. I laughed so many times, but there were times when he just made me want to cry. And I adore that we get these stories from the male POV, and see beyond their cocky lawyer exteriors.
There was plenty of hot sexy time, with a dash of suspense thrown in for good measure.
Now the only thing wrong with this book and series is that

to is really being over :(
I have thorough loved the trials (pun intended) and tribulations of these legal eagles, and can't wait to see what Ms Chase brings us next.

You will need to have read the first 4 books in the After series before reading Before, as there are spoilers, and you will be a bit confused about things in part one, Before.
I have made no secret that I have put off reading the After series for months and months as I had to get my head past the fact that they are One Direction fan fiction.
Over the past week I have read all the books and Before. While I did struggled with the earlier books - particularly book one, After – at the end of each book I was intrigued enough to read the next one.
Before was what I really needed for this series.
It is split into three sections – before Tessa, during Tessa and after Tessa. The during section is told from Hardin’s POV, and it was a great help in learning his motivation through the previous 4 books.
Because let’s admit it, for most of the first 4 books Hardin was a complete and utter dick. To me he was totally unlikeable, borderline emotionally abusive (sometimes there was no borderline about it) and I just couldn’t understand why Tessa kept going back.
But Before changed my opinions – slightly – on him. From “the bet” to the end of After Ever Happy, we get into his head, and it is a more messed up place then even I thought.
So if you have have read the After series, you definitely need to read Before. I am glad I – finally – read the series.

I knew from reading the synopsis that Summers With Juliette was going to be an emotional read, so I was prepared for it.
What I wasn’t prepared for was the for the punch that this book packed.
It is a gut wrenching, heart breaking but also heartwarming of friendship, and what lengths friends go to for each other. It is about mending broken friendships, forging new relationships.
Juliette calls on the pinky swear she, Sera and Anna made when they were teenagers. She is dying and wants to spend one last summer with her best friends.
I loved Juliette from the minute the book started. So strong, she has had so many horrible things happen in her life, but she lives her life every day with a smile. I want to be as strong as her when I grow up!
Anna and Sera, each with their own problems but they come together for Juliette, and while they are repairing their friendship, they are forging life changing relationships with men they meet while in town.
From the blurb you know that there are going to be heartbreaking moments. But boy the one that I knew was going to happen still took a strong grip on my heart and felt like it was squeezing the life out of me.
It is hard to believe that this is Ms Madden's debut novel. The story, the writing, the emotion leapt off the pages, and I could not put Summers With Juliet down once I started.
This is a wonderful read, so grab a cuppa and a box of tissues and dive in. You will not be disappointed.
I cannot wait to see what Ms Madden has for us next.

Armie Jacobsen's story - woo-fricking-hoo!
The wait for Armie's story has been interminable. Every book I though "Please let Armie's book be next!" only for another of the Ultimate boys to get a book.
But the wait was definitely worth it. Armie and Merissa (Rissy) have been circling each other for years so it was fantastic to see them finally take that next step. And what a sexy, sexy step that turned out to be!
But it was never going to be an easy road for them, but what Ms Foster gave us was so much more than I expected.
Armie is so much more than he thinks he is. But Rissy sees it all, and pushes Armie to see it too.
I love love love Rissy. I want to be her when I grow up. Not only is she surrounded by hotties, she is a badass, strong as anything woman.
I loved the interaction between all the boys. They give each other so much shit, but hell do they have each other's backs.
We also got to learn more about Justice and Leese in this book, giving us a great set up for their stories.
The Ultimate series has been sweet, sexy and fun to read, and I am sorry to see it coming to an end, but I am looking forward to Leese, Miles, Justice and Brand's stories in the future.
Along with anything else Ms Foster brings us.
Please don't make us wait too long.

I admit it - I am the president of the Fictional Band Groupie Slut Club - tell me there is a book about a rock star, and I am there ready to party.
I was excited to get into Taking The Lead - but for me, it just fell flat. There were just things that to me just felt unnecessary.
Axel just didn't feel the rock star to me. In the bedroom (or bathroom, or back seat of limo) he came across dom...ish, but other than that, he felt like a lovestruck teenager.
Rickanna - Ricki - just.. what? The terms of her employment/will were just weird. The big, bad secret sex club she runs with her sister just didn't feel at all necessary for the story, but we kept getting drawn back there. We never really find out why Ricki hates it so much, why it weirds her out.
At times (most the times, when she is not having sexy times) Ricki was just.... meh. She didn't stand out for me. I wanted to shake her to tell her to snap out of it, her flip-flopping with Axel, do I or don't I got a little tiresome for me.
I feel that there was just too many different storylines in the book - Ricki and Axel, Ricki's mother, the Hollywood movie scene - that is made everything feel a little glossed over. Perhaps some of these things could have been left for another book, or a novella to give us more details.
Now, all these things might just be me, and you might absolutely love these things about our MC's. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.
But for me, Taking The Lead just fell flat. I wanted to really like it, but instead I just liked it. The last 20% got better for me which saved it for me.
This is the first Cecelia Tan book I have read, and I will probably read the next book.
