I have to say, even though I have had other K.A Tucker books on my kindle forever, Chasing River is the first book of hers that I have read.
Though this is the 3rd book in the Burying Water series, it can be read as a stand alone - though I will be going back and reading the earlier books when I get the time.
Chasing River starts with a bang - and not the good kind!
Amber is travelling the world, ticking things off her travel bucket list as she goes. Getting blown up is not on that list though.
This incident brings her and River together, and changes their lives forever.
Amber is one of those people that needs to konw. She needs to know what happened. She needs to know who the mystery man who saved her is.
I loved how she was like a dog with a bone. She hunted River down, but then it was a case of Chasing River, and River chasing Amber.
River's life is steeped in family history - not all of it good, not all of it legal. I loved his family - for the most part. My heart hurt as we learn more of their story, as things happen that affect more than the person involved, dragging everyone into their drama.
The part I really liked about Chasing River - besides Amber and River - was the burgeouning friendship between Amber and Ivy. Ivy is the dark to Ivy's light, and they complement each other and I feel that theirs could be a friendship for life.
The pacing of Chasing River was just right - I felt that the story flowed well, and when I got to the end I felt that it was definitely things should have been, but along the way there were a few times where I was like "woah, I wasn't expecting that to happen", which I really liked.
I am really looking forward to Ivy's story, and going back to read books 1 and 2, to see how our characters got where they are today.

This is the second book in the Ink and Chrome series, and could be read as a standalone, but why would you want to miss all the happenings in the first book, Opening Up.
We met Duke in Opening Up - Asa's best friend and business partner at Twisted Steel. We watched (and made fun of Asa) as he tripped and fell into love with PJ, and now it is Duke's turn.
Duke is the gorgeous, sexy, flirtatious neighbour of Carmella. Carmella has been secretly in love with the hottie next door since forever. You can feel the sexual tension between them every time they are in the same room/yard/house together.
I loved that they finally took that step, and the way Duke treated his lady. He is so caring, thoughtful, I mean really, the guy is just swoonworthy. I adored how he was with Carmella. He knew that he couldn't go in all balls to the wall (well, may a little bit that way) with Carmella if he wanted to find his HEA with her.
At times I wanted to slap Carmella's mother around the head for being such a selfish cow, but at other times I wanted to slap Carmella for pandering to her - I know why but gah it frustrated me!
She has an amazing back story that helps us understand the complicated but wonderful woman she has become. And I love her sense of style - I could imagine her like a rockabilly/pinup kind of girl.
It was lovely to be taken along on the ride as Duke charmed his way into Carmella's heart (and her pants!).
I enjoyed Falling Under even more than I did Opening Up.
Now can't wait for the next book, Coming Back, which is Mick's story.

It has been quite a while since I have read a Bella Jewel book, but after reading Hard to Fight, I remember why I loved her work.
I liked the premise of Hard to Fight, the kind of role reversal going on.
Grace is not your typical girly girl - woohoo! - and I love how she takes on her job as a bounty hunter. I thought that she rocked. Loved that she was realistic about her capabilities of her job too, not going all hell for leather into the cases.
Raide is her "job", and she gets right into that job! Can't blame the girl either, I am sure I would have crossed that line if I had the chance!
Raide is not all what he seems. He looks and seems like the big bad guy, but the more we get to know him, the more we see the softer side of him.
There is a twist in Raide's tale and I loved the way it played out in the end. Although how it played out and came to be left me a bit "huh?"
There are some secondary characters that I would love to know more about. Raide's friend Benny, and Grace's friend Vance need their stories to be told!
All in all, this was a quick, fun, enjoyable read, and I look forward to more of the Alpha's Heart series in the future.

Since I first started devouring this series a couple of months ago, Tracker's has been the guy whose story I have been wanting, waiting for.
We quickly met Lana in Arrow's End, as she is Arrow's woman Anna's best friend. And she has had the hots for Tracker since they first met.
Then there is the skanky Allie who has been Tracker's on again off again bed-bunny for years. Can you say ewwww? I really could not think of another word for her! She is no respectable biker's old lady!
I have loved, crushed on, adored Tracker from the first time he popped up in the pages of this series. No other man in the series could win me away from Tracker.
And Tracker's End just proves again what a wonderful writer Ms Fernando is, and just how fabulous Tracker is. He knows what he wants, he goes for it, and made me swoon all the while.
Watching Lana come out of her shell around Tracker and the club was a joy. The whole club adore her, welcome her into their fold, their family. And ooooh do I love her secret!!! I also loved how much she evolved during the story.
I like those kind of biker books too - good not to have Sons of Anarchy in book form for a change!
I knew from the beginning that Tracker and Lana's story was never going to be smooth sailing, and there were a few major hurdles they had to overcome. At times I wanted to kick Tracker in the balls for things he said and did - while I could understand them, doesn't mean I agreed with him!
There was also a huge moment where all I could think was WTF? I sure didn't see that coming!
But the scene stealer is Sin and Faye's (from Dragon's Lair, book 1) daughter clover. She sure is a biker princess and has all the tough guys wrapped around her pinky finger!
So, can Tracker get his woman, and can they have their HEA?
Nah, can't tell you that! You will have to read for yourself!
Ms Fernando has brought me back to reading MC books. In a market that has felt saturated with the genre lately, the Wind Dragons series shines bright.
Now I need more - surely we need to see that boy Rake fall to his knees for one woman!

Ms Anderson needs to add to her warning "Caution: Keep the tissues nearby"
47 Things is a heartwarming, but heartbreaking book of love and loss.
Tyler and Sarah's story is one that will grip you around the heart and won't let go. From the moment I started reading, I was on a rollercoaster of emotions, and I never knew what was going to happen next. Our lovers wove their way straight into my heart and I just wanted, no needed, them to make it.
Then Ms Anderson tore my still beating heart out of my chest and shattered it. Tears a-plenty!
Word to the wise - do not try to sneak read this one at work - try explaining why you are sitting at your desk, tears in your eyes.'
47 Things is just beautiful. Even now, writing this review, there is a lump in my throat, I am blinking away tears, and trying to piece my heart back together.

I didn't think I could love one of the Ashes and Ember's guys more than I could Vandal.... but then I met Lukas.
Ivy's life is in tatters, but she is pulling up her big girl pants and is trying to move on.
Walking in to get a new tattoo, Ivy was not expecting her life to change so suddenly, and so dramatically.
We caught tantalising glimpses of Lukas and Ivy during Vandal's book, but they were just a tasty sample of all the goodness in this installment of the series. And there were some events from Vandal that I had forgotten ,that caught me off guard again!
Lukas - swoon - I swear, reading this book had me wanting to jump in my car and drive around to tattoo parlours until I found my own Lukas. Or if I couldn't find a Lukas, at least get another tattoo!
I swear, that guys gives all us older ladies a bit of hope!
Lukas runs concurrent with Storm and Vandal, so it is good that we get a little bit of each of the characters along the way.
Ivy, I could understand her hesitance at starting something with someone, let alone someone so much younger. But I wanted to shake some sense into her, tell her to take that leap - or would I take her place!
I adored Lukas' persistence, never giving up on Ivy. Life and love was never meant to be easy though, and there are struggles he and Ivy need to overcome.
Can they make a go of it when everyone and everything seems to be against them getting their HEA?
There were some secondary characters that I am still undecided about. Ivy's best friend? Not sure if I like her or loathe her - though am leaning towards the loathe.
Ms Cole has a way of dragging you right along with her characters, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. And I for one loved being on the ride with them.
Can't wait for Talon's story and more of the Ashes and Embers men

I have not read book 1, Just One Night, but this in no way detracted from my enjoyment of Just One Lie - but I will be going back to read book 1.
I have not read any Kyra Davis books before, so i was not sure what to expect when I started this book. But once I picked it up, I could not put it down.
Just One Lie should be renamed "How To Have A Toxic Relationship" - because as much as I loved Mercy and adored Ash, boy were these two a beautiful disaster together.
Mercy Raye, formerly known as Melody Fitzgerald, has had a rough go of it, but all you want is for to make it, to succeed, to be happy. And you can't help but love her, warts and all.
Enter Brad, drummer in her band, great friend - but can he be more? He sees her, even when she doesn't want to be seen. He is her anchor, even if she doesn't realise it.
Decisions decisions - who will be the one to truly win Mercy's heart.
This is not a love triangle situation though - so those who don't like those, never fear! it is the story of a confused young lady trying to make her way in the world.
Just One Lie is a story of Mercy's self discovery as much as anything. The trials and tribulations of her life as she grows and learns to finally really love who she is.
Ms Davis has written gritty, complicated characters who can't help but tug at your heartstrings. I wanted to hug them, to kick their butts, but most of all, I wanted them to find their happy.

Book two in the Legal Briefs series - woohoo!
Jake Becker - OMG that man could smirk the pants off a nun!
We first me Jake in book 1 - Overruled - and now we get his whole story.
And what a story - not your average man brought to his knees by a beautiful woman story. There were so many more players in this game - and what a troupe they are!
A lesser man would have run from Chelsea when he finds out about her looking after her 6 nieces and nephews, but boy do they worm his way under his skin, just as much as Chelsea.
Of course things are never going to be easy - what fun would that be?
But can Jake get past all the baggage in Chelsea's life, or will it all be too much and too hard for him?
Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself!
I loved that we got more of Stanton and Sofia from the first book, and am looking forward to Brent's story to come in book 3.
I also adore the way that Ms Chase gets into the male brain -she writes their POV so well, that sometimes I am sure she is really a he - has anyone checked that?
The only thing wrong with this book? I Object (see what I did there lol) to the wait for book 3

Remember that move, Sliding Doors, where one moment in time, one decision, sent Helen's life in two completely different directions?
That is the premise of Maybe In Another Life, and I did not want to put it down once I started.
Kismet, fate, destiny - do you believe in it? Do you believe in the role it plays in your life?
Hannah's has been a bit adrift since finishing high school, and when one bad decision has her heading back to her home town of LA, things will never be the same again.
The decision one night - to stay at a club or to leave - sends her life on such difference courses. And this is where the story gets interesting.
It has also made me think - how different would my life be if I made those simple decisions? Stay or go? Turn left or right?
“When you sit there and wish things had happened differently, you can’t just wish away the bad stuff. You have to think about all the good stuff you might lose, too. Better just to stay in the now and focus on what you can do better in the future.”
From here on the story gets told of the two different Hannah's from the minute she makes that decision. I have never read a book in this format before, and did worry that it would be confusing to keep up with which storyline was which - but I needn't have!
It was interesting to see how much the lives of our characters still intersected during the course of the book. And the characters are not over the top. Their lives could be any us, any of our lives.
“I know there may be universes out there where I made different choices and they led me somewhere else, led me to someone else. And my heart breaks for every single version of me that didn't end up with you.”
I laughed, I cried, I got angry whilst reading Maybe In Another Life. I had never read any of Taylor Jenkins Reid's work before, but this has piqued my interest and I will be going back and check out her other books.
