I am not a huge MC genre reader - I feel for a long while there that the market was saturated with biker books.
But when one of my favourite authors releases a MC book - well then there is no chance that I won't read it.
In typical Pepper Winters style, Ruin and Rule is a dark, gritty story that I could not put down. The whole time I was reading, I felt like I couldn't relax. I had a death grip on my kindle, I think I held my breath for most of the read.
In fact, this is how I imagined Ms Winters at home as us readers get through Ruin and Rule:

Whilst Ruin and Rule is a MC book, it is so much more.
As the story progressed, it was like a fog lifted, not just for me but for our lead characters as well. There was so much history, so much darkness in their lives, it is like a ray of sunshine punching through the clouds during a storm. Letting us see that there is light after all the darkness.
I got absolutely lost in Ruin and Rule. It was as if only the world of Pure Corruption MC existed.
There was so much "who's that?", "what's happening?" And a whole lot of

And then, just as I was ready to believe things would turn out OK...
We were cliffhangered!
BUT! In this case, this is not a bad thing. This is giving me time to process all that has happened in Ruin and Rule, and steel myself for what is to come with Sin and Suffer.
Well played Ms Winters, well played!

If you have read Ms Bennett's Last Call series, you will know that Woolf is Tenn's younger brother. If you haven't read them, it doesn't matter as you will get to know Woolf and all his proclivities in Wicked Fall.
Woolf is a sexy ass rancher - that should be enough, right? He is rich but is still hands on in his business. But throw his kink into the ring, and seriously, what more could a girl (or guy!) want.
Callie is the one that got away, but never left his head or his heart. Now she is back in his life, and things are going to get interesting!
I loved Callie - so sweet and innocent - well, looks can be deceiving! She has this adventurous, wild streak in her that certainly comes out to play when it comes to Woolf! And boy, when Callie comes out to play, boy does she come to play!! I am still fanning myself! It is super-duper, I-need-a-cold-shower-and-a-change-of-underwear kinda smoking.

But you know what was even hotter than the sexy times? I felt that the emotional connection between Callie and Woolf (am I the only one who feels they need to howl at the moon with that name??) was so deep, so visceral, that it made the sexy times (and boy were there some sexy sexy times) even better.
There are a few things I need to add:
> I live in a farming community, so I will be checking out all the farmers belt buckles from now on
> I will never, ever be able to look at a silo the same way again
> Do you think the bank would loan me $50,000 to join The Silo?
I thoroughly enjoyed Wicked Fall (well, it is a Sawyer Bennett book, that is pretty much a gimme), and I can't wait to read about the woman who brings Bridger to his knees (cos we know it is going to happen), and after reading the teaser chapter at the end of Wicked Fall, whoa for Cain's story!
Now, I have to go see if I can find myself a sexy, dirty talking, kinky farmer!

A was lucky to be able to purchase a veeeerrry early paperback copy of Discovering Stella, and have been holding off reading until closer to the release date. She said at the time "I hope you enjoy Stella and Lawson's story"
And I have to tell you - KM Golland has done it again.
I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that this story hit me right in the feels. Happy feels, sad feels, sexy feels.
To say that Lawson is Stella's knight in grease covered jeans would be an understatement.
Stella is a broken shell of a woman, and it was a joy to be taken along on her journey of healing. It is also a journey of self discovery.
I am now kicking myself for taking so long to pick it up and reading
Discovering Stella is told from dual POVs, and I felt that both characters had very distinctive voices (unlike sometimes when I am reading dual POV's and I have to keep checking whose chapter I am reading).
I love the "small town" feeling of this book. I live in a small country town and I get the small town thing with everyone in everyone else's business (You sneeze and someone 2 streets away says bless you!)
The is a wonderful, romantic, funny and sometimes sad story, and there was only one thing wrong with it.... it ended!
Thank you Ms Golland for another wonderful story.

I loved Harper Sloan's Corps Security series, and as each of the Hope Town series comes out, I am falling in love with their kids.
In fact, I think I love Corps Security: The Next Generation even more!
Bleeding Love is Liam Beckett - son of Beck and Dee from Corps Security - and Megan's story.
Megan's story so far is not an easy one, but boy is she in for a ride once she lands on Liam's radar
"Megan, I've wanted you since the day I met you, but I knew you weren't ready for me. I've been trying to keep my distance, just waiting for those clouds to leave your eyes. If you don't want me to take you back to my house, strip you naked and fuck you until you can't walk for weeks then say so nw, because the second I have you I won't be letting you go."
"Oh boy," I whisper.
"I prefer oh god, but I'll make that the first item on my to-do list."
Oh man, there is something about those Beckett men - it's a Beckett thing! Such sweet talkers!
There are so many feels in Bleeding Love. Told from both Liam and Megan's POV, we are able to get into their heads, understand their motives and emotions.
I could understand Megan's reluctance to act on her attraction to Liam, especially with her daughter in the picture. But one scene with Liam and Molly together, and your heart will just melt.
Liam is just all sorts of wonderful. His light shines against Megan's darkness. He slowly but surely brings her out of the darkness he has felt for so long - albeit kicking and screaming it times.
What else can I say other than I wanted more, I didn't want their story to end.
And what can I say about the other "Next Generation" kids. Nate is just hilarious and I can't wait to hear more of his story. The twins are going to be a handful when their turn comes.
Now I hope we don't have too long before we get more of their stories.
Thank you Ms Sloan for this fantastic story, and I am now impatiently waiting for more

Another installment in the sexy GAPS series - yes please!
Now I am just a sucker for a Navy SEAL book. And I just love the GAPS - Gorgeous Abs and PecS bahahaha - men.
Rick's was an interesting story. Unlike his friends, he was medically retired out of the SEALS and is in a soul-destroyingly boring job - but with the occasional GAPS job thrown in for fun.
What he doesn't expect his assignment to be is a bratty, spoilt Hollywood starlet.
Sierra doesn't want a bodyguard, and when she meets Rick she really doesn't like him. They have a lust/hate relationship going, but you just knew that things were going to be hot and sweaty between them!
Protected by a SEAL is a suspensey, sexy quick read that has left me wanting more - like this series always does.
Looking forward to the next book!

Holy Sh!tballs - that prologue!
Way to rip a girls heart out right from the start!!!
I have read most of M. Leighton's work, and am yet to have been disappointed.
Strong Enough is darker than Ms Leighton's usual writing, and I found it very refreshing. There are only so many fluffy, sweet, romantic stories (which I adore) you can read before you need to sink your teeth into something grittier.
As dark, dangerous and broody as Jasper is, you can feel the walls around him cracking and tumbling as he and our leading lady Muse spend more time together.
My heart hurt for Muse over and over. Just as we thought we knew what was happening, something would happen that would rip the rug out from under her feet, and she had to learn who to trust again.
There was plenty of suspense, intrigue and passion which kept me up way past my bedtime so I could finish reading Strong Enough.
The story flowed seamlessly - even though there is a huge enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in a mystery that kept slowly unfolding before my eyes.
But do our lovelies get their HEA? Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.
Strong Enough was a wonderful, strong, broody start to the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series, and I cannot wait for more.

It has been forever since we have had a new TJ Hamilton book - well, just over 6 months but it feel like forever.
And Defending Pacer was well worth the wait.
Lawyer Chelsea Tanner and career criminal Paciano "Pacer" Fratelli could not be on more opposite sides of the legal fine line.
But what makes them so bad for each other is what makes them so good together.
"The feeling I have for a woman I've just met is beyond my control. I don't know what to do with it. All Iknow is I want her." ~~ Pacer

From the moment they meet, they are consumed by each other - but what lengths will they go to to be together? To defend their feelings for each other.
"Pacer Fratelli is so bad, but the fantasy of him is sublime. I would never, could never be with someone like hin, but the very thought of him..." ~~ Chelsea
While there is plenty attraction and hot sexy action, there is also a lot of funny, sweet moments. I loved seeing the playful, fun side of Pacer. He was great before, but when those moments come out, he is absolutely amazing.
And what that man can do with a leather glove!

There was a secondary character that I just love love loved! Logan - they (yes they, you will get it when you read) are just amazing. I want a Logan in my life.
As with Ms Hamilton's other works, Defending Pacer has a darker undercurrent, showing us the seedier side of Sydney, and it has drawn me right in. It was a rollercoaster of a ride, and I didn't want to get off.
Can't wait for what Ms Hamilton brings us next.

It seems like forever since the first book in the Homeruns series , but it hasn't been. It has just been me impatiently waiting that has made it seem so much longer.
We got a tasty morsel of Curve Ball at the end of Wild Pitch, and I have been chomping at the bit for Curve Ball.
So while I loved Wild Pitch, I LOVE Curve Ball. I couldn't see how this series could get better, but it did!
Jason Klein and Cam Morgan could not have been more different. Jason, baseball star manly man. Cam is quieter, more effeminate, into fashion and cooking.
But boy do they complement each other!
From the minute they first met, you could feel the pull between them. Their emotions jumped of the pages I couldn't help but laugh, cry, love with them.
At times I wanted to slap Cam across the back of his head for being so damn stubborn, but as the story progressed I had more of an understanding of why he acted like he did.
And Jason - OMG the feels! His past still haunting him today, my heart ached as he struggled to move forward without feeling he was betraying his past.

What I loved about this story was that it was more that sex. Hello, I loved the sexy times, but this was more about Jason and Cam forging their new relationship and not just relying on sexual chemistry.
I adored that we got more of the characters from the first book - which you do not need to have read before reading Curve Ball, but why wouldn't you want to. Was great to see how Sean and Mason (book 1) are settling into their lives together.
Cam and Jason's story is a bit more gritty, a bit more angsty than Sean and Mason's - nothing over the top - and I really liked it!
The one person I was most intrigued by was Cam's roommate Drew. I am very much looking forward to reading his story in the next book.
Keep writing the m/m stories Ms Johnson - I really think it is your thing!

I love a good second chance romance.
A second chance romance with a rock star? Want!
Even though this is book 7 in the Dare series, I did not feel that I was missing anything by not having read the first 6 books (though I will be going back to read them at a later date) except maybe getting my head around the family tree :/
Avery and Grey have a history, one that caused a lot of hurt when he left to become a world famous rock star. Though now he is retired and not really a rock star any more, he is still famous and a media-magnet.
I loved that he knows what he wants, and goes for it full steam ahead. Avery wants him, doesn't want him, she is as confused as Grey is determined.
Throw in stalkers, family dramas and paparazzi, you know that things are not going to be all fun and games for our delightful duo.
I did feel though, that considering the amount of time they had been apart, they did kind of jump right back in where they left off - but this might just be me.
Dare to Rock is a sweet second chance romance, it will make us all have a bit of a "what if" moment.
Now, am off to one-click some more Dares..
