This second book in the Lily series starts off where the first one ended.
Lily is still smarting after her fiance cheats the night before her wedding, and after returning back from her solo honeymoon, things really start to change for her personally.
Oh, she is still getting her groove on - many grooves - but career wise things are a-changing.
This part of the story goes away a bit from the sexy times she has been getting, and gets down more to the raw emotion and heart break that she has been trying to hide.
There is one man I am really cheering for to get Lily's heart, and he makes a brief appearance, but it seems she still has a few oats to sew on this journey.
Let's see where the next part, Tiger Lily takes us

I was lucky enough to win a copy of Unteachable a few weeks ago, and was finally able to pick it up and read it over the past couple of night
Holy amazing read Batman!
While the premise of Unteachable is not a new one - teacher/student romance, there was just something about this one that really got to me.
While yes this is a taboo kind of subject, let me say up front, Maise is 18 and legally an adult, she has not fallen prey to Evan, there is attraction and seduction from both parties.
I loved how this was not all a fairy tale. Maise puts it so succinctly when she says it is "effed up". What they are doing, what they are feeling, their lives before they met each other, all effed up.
The relationship is complicated, the sexual chemistry between Maise and Evan is tangible, the emotions will get you right in the gut.
There was a darker undercurrent that was part of what drew them together, and although we all know that secrets are never good for a relationship, you could feel the weight lift off their shoulders as secrets are revealed.
I loved Ms Raeder's writing style. It was as if I was in the room with our lovlies, watching as their relationship unfolded before our eyes.
I will definitely be keeping this author on my must read list, and am looking forward to Black Iris when it is released

I have to admit, it took me a while to get into Material Girls. At first I wasn't sure - is this set in the present or in the future? Are these "girls" 16 or 30??
It took me to about 50% to really get into it, when the rebellion really started to gather steam. I did like the revolutionary side of the story and the characters.
The whole book had a kind of Truman Show feel to it. These kids lives, careers, everything is decided for them when they hit their teens, and big brother above controls their everything.
I was right behind the rebellion, loved the uprising and really wanted to see some kind of result for the main players involved.
But then we got to the end and our characters are pretty much back in the same position they were in the beginning. Say What???
Maybe this was just a little too young for me and my *mumble mumble* years? Though I think this would be a great read for teens or younger readers.
I liked the writing style, and when it did grab me, I enjoyed it.

Being the last in Lily's story, things have to settle down a bit, right?
Welp, not at first they don't. Lily is still torn between the guy she thought she was falling for, the friend-with-benefits, and the new guy she has just met.
There was quite a bit going on in the background of Lily's life this time round. Family and business, what to do next, her love life....
I liked that Lily started to finally cool her jets when it came to her sexual exploits. Don't know about anyone else, but for a while there, I thought I was going to have to go and get an STD test the way she was getting around (and not a condom in sight with any of the guys it seemed!!!) Nothing wrong with her having multiple partners, but she was kind of bed hopping there for a while
So, who does she end up with? Is he the one? Or one of many?
Just when it was all starting to feel right, BAM it ended. Say what?!?!
I am sure we are going to get more of Lily in the other series by this author though, and will find out more later on.

it has been a while since I have read an Abbi book, so I thought I would go back to the Sea breeze series.
I liked it, but I think it felt a little too young for me? I couldn't really connect with Sadie, but I think it is just me as it has been so long since I have been in high school.
I am looking forward to reading more of the series though

it has been a long time since I read A Fire That Burns, and I came across this today and dived right in.
Hoolie doolie! I thought things that happened in AFTB were crazy, but the level of craziness ramped right up.
I just wanted the HEA Austin and Tyler fought so hard for o come to fruition, but they had so many more things to fight now.
Natasha is a stone cold psychopathic bitch. No words for how much I hated her!
I loved how this series ended

This is the fourth book in the Rule Breakers series, and could be read as a standalone. Though you really should read the first three.
We have briefly met Dani in the previous books, but we never learned much about her, but now it is all coming to the fore.
She's a grifter, always on for the con. The only person she truly loves in her life is her foster brother Jimmy. They have had a really shitty start to life, and just when she thinks things are starting to get better....
Rand Sterling Winston IV - phew, that is a mouthful (that's what she said lol),sexy "Richie Rich" doesn't chase women - why would he when they fall all over themselves to get to him. But his interest is piqued the first time she meets Dani, and even more so when she tells him no.
Rand and Dani circle each other, like lions circling their prey. We all know that secrets never did a relationship any good, but there are secrets on both sides. Neither of them wants to lose "the game" and at times it felt like they were never going to get anywhere.
I don't know what it was, I just couldn't seem to really warm up to either Rand or Dani, and thinking about it a day later, I still can't put my finger on what it was. While the sexual chemistry between them was smoking, sometimes I just did not feel the emotional connection.
This was not a predictable storyline. There were some parts I was sure I knew what was going on then BAM - we were taken in a whole different direction.
I like Ms Chances' writing and am now waiting to see what she brings us next.

This is the first J.M Darhower book I have read, so I was not really sure what to expect when I picked it up.
While I liked the story, there was just something missing for me. There didn't seem to be much story development. For a good portion it was watching our guy Reece go from work, to the bar, to home. rinse. later. repeat.
I did like Reece though. I thought his character had the most development.
Our female lead Avery felt quite one dimensional to me. I really couldn't connect with her at all. It was like she was there, but she wasn't a lot of the time. We could have had a story that just involved Reece and his adorable daughter and I would have liked it just as much.
I will go and read some more of J.M Darhower's work though

This is the 6th book in the Running Into Love series, and although I have missed a couple of books in the series (which I will go back and read) this did not affect my enjoyment and understanding of things in this book.
Aiden Wellington has always felt happy that his friends and siblings have found the love of their lives, but lately he can see what he is missing, is kind of feeling jealous of all the happiness around him, and at times just does not want to be around them.
Savvy has been in his circle of family and friends for a while, but now she is on Aiden's radar and he can't help but want to be around her.
The poor girl doesn't stand a chance!
Savvy has had a rough trot of things, and being introduced to the Wellingtons, their family and friends, has changed her life like she never thought was possible. She is smart, savvy, and I love her quirky outlook of life, never really expecting that she deserves anything good in life.
When Aiden and Savvy are thrown together, you can't help but want great things for them both. There is an attraction between them that neither can deny, and really, who would want to fight Aiden? Oh wait, yeah, Savvy will fight it! She can't see herself as ever being good enough for Aiden, and keeps pushing him away.
Even though he has an uphill battle before him, Aiden never gives up on her and fights for not just himself, but for her.
Swoon! I so want that man to get the happiness he is inwardly craving.
So, can these lovelies finally get their HEA?
Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself!
I loved that we got to see a little more of each of the Wellingtons and their significant others, their families, their children, everyone we have grown to love over this series,
It is always bittersweet when we get to the end of series, but look forward to what Ms Nicole will have for us next.
