I have to admit, it took me a while to get into Material Girls. At first I wasn't sure - is this set in the present or in the future? Are these "girls" 16 or 30??

It took me to about 50% to really get into it, when the rebellion really started to gather steam. I did like the revolutionary side of the story and the characters.

The whole book had a kind of Truman Show feel to it. These kids lives, careers, everything is decided for them when they hit their teens, and big brother above controls their everything.

I was right behind the rebellion, loved the uprising and really wanted to see some kind of result for the main players involved.

But then we got to the end and our characters are pretty much back in the same position they were in the beginning. Say What???

Maybe this was just a little too young for me and my *mumble mumble* years? Though I think this would be a great read for teens or younger readers.

I liked the writing style, and when it did grab me, I enjoyed it.
