Waking up to find a new Kim Karr book waiting for me - woot woot!! What a morning!

I have to say, when you look at the cover for The 27 Club, I felt it did not really fit with the story inside? Though as I read further I could understand the "ssssh" aspect of it. But this might just have been me.

I was shocked when things happened to Z - I guess I shouldn't have been but still, gah!

My heart hurts for Zoey for the longest time whilst reading this book. The hurt, the grief, the belief in the 27 Club. What a horrible thing to have hanging over you your whole life. I just wanted to hug her till she felt better.

Then there is Nate. You can't help but love Nate from the minute you first meet him. I wish we could have got more of Nate and Z before things happened, I reckon I would have really loved Z too.

The UST between Nate and Zoey **fans self**. Boy oh boy things are soooo steamy between them. You can feel that if they ever get their act together it is going to be hot hot hot.

But secrets and lies never make for a good combination when it comes to a new relationship. OMG I just wanted to shake some sense into both of our darlings. Their reasons for keeping apart just - meh, I don't know. I wanted them to get together so much!

There is so many little stories going on in the main story here. There is Nate's family issues, Zoey trying to survive the next year, what was the secret Z has been hiding from everyone? All made for an intriguing story.

I felt that the story flowed well, and the plot lines all intertwined quite seamlessly. Everything leads to another tidbit in the big picture.

So, while I really liked The 27 Club, I don't know, I just felt like there was something missing for me, but I am not sure what it was. I just wish I could put my finger on it!

I enjoy Ms Karr's writing. Since the minute I first picked up Connected I have been keen on what she has next for us.

Merry Farmer is a new-to-me author, but the blurb for Summer With A Star drew me in right away. So the chance to read an advanced copy was a no brainer.

What would you do if the dream holiday you have scrimped and saved for for the past 20 years was ripped away from you without notice?

That is what happens to primary school teacher Tasha Pike when she turns up to her dream summer. Oh my goodness my heart broke for her when she turned up and someone was in her house!!

Spence Ellis is the man who has ruined her holiday. Oh, and he is also an uber-famous Hollywood star flashing his cash around to get what he wants.

You just know this is going to be a battle of wills and fun and games between our lovelies. They are from such different worlds, such different expectations from people, that this can only end in tears, right?

You could feel Spence's guilt roll off the pages when it comes to what has happened with this house - even though at the end of the day he is not the one who did what happened, it happened for him. You can also feel the pull he has towards Tasha.

There is that attraction between them that cannot be denied. I don't know though, I think I would have stayed mad as hell at Spence for a lot longer than Tasha did. I mean steam-coming-out-the-ears-temperature-rising mad.

But at the same time I wanted her to give in to Spence and roll with it.

Can Spence keep his anonymity for the summer? Can he make things up to Tasha? Can they find love and their HEA? Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.

There are some great secondary characters, especially Jenny and Simon - Tasha and Spence's respective best friends. Jenny is a force of nature!

Then there is Yvonne, Spence's agent. I had a love/hate relationship with her. Even at the end I still had mixed feelings about her.

Oh, and don't get me started on the absent owners of said house. As much as we are supposed to love this old couple that Tasha remembers from her childhood, all I could think was "you a*&eholes!! How could you do that to Tasha?!?"

I really did enjoy this book. It is a sweet, angst-free stand alone romance, and I will be reading more in this series as they come out.

Looking forward to Jenny and Simon's story - Night with A Star - as I need to know more about them!

I have been reading Kimberly Knight since she released her first book a few years ago now and I love that her books are not just fluffy romance novels.

Angels and Whiskey is no exception. Yes, it is a romance at the core, but there is so much more going on with her characters, Gabe and Autumn.

I adored Gabe right from the prologue. Yes, he is sexy alpha, but there is heart and hurt beneath all the alpha.

Autumn is so srong. What she has gone through, is going through would be too much for many a weaker woman.

The spark between our pair is instant and off the charts. I loved though that this was not an insta-love relationship. Yes, the instant attraction, but there was no bed hopping as soon as they met – even if they thought about it!!

I just wanted Gabe and Autumn to be able to overcome their past and present problems, could just feel that theirs was going to be a great romance if they could work things out.

So, do they? Can they overcome their issues and get their happy ever after?

Nope, not telling!

There are some fantastic secondary characters too – especially their best friends, Brandi and Paul/PJ/Jackson. Especially Paul.

I hope he gets his own story sometime in the future.

Ms Knight writes an intriguing story every time. I could feel imagine myself in the sands of Afghanistan or on the strip in Vegas. Her characters and their problems feel real and believable.

I can’t wait to see what she has for us next.

This is the second book in the Underground Kings series, but it can be read as a stand alone.

Obligation was not really what I was expecting when I started it, but it kept me interested right from the beginning.

We first quickly meet Myla and Kai as children, then are swept forward many years to the present day when their lives again intertwine.

And when they intertwine, boy do they! I loved how they are forced together by necessity, but those "fake" feelings don't stay fake long.

There is a bit of suspense with this story. There are things from Myla's past that are still affecting her present. Even as we learn more about them though, we are left with more questions. There were a few of those questions that the answers were pretty glossed over, and considering they were a pretty big part of how we got where they are, I felt that there could have been a lot more depth. But this could just be me?

At times I wondered why Myla did not question things more? I mean, she wakes up married to a complete stranger - to keep her safe - but even as she finds out more about why, she doesn't kick up about it. It all came down to "ok it's to protect me, Kai is so hot".

There were a couple of times when I couldn't help but roll my eyes at things, so much so I was expecting (or maybe hoping lol) Christian Grey would come and spank me for said eye rolling!!

But the chemistry between Kai and Myla made up for it for me. Whenever they were on the page together, their connection was off the charts hot. You could understand why they wanted to rip each other clothes off - well, I could at least understand why Myla did anyway!!

Obligation was a sweet, sexy, suspensy story that certainly took me down a road that I was not expecting at the beginning. I loved that we got a little bit of Kenton Mayson thrown in, along with some great secondary characters.

I did enjoy Obligation, but there was just something a little missing for me. I can't put my finger on what it was. It just lacked that extra oomph that I usually get from a Ms Reynolds book.

But if you like you sexy, protective men, definitely add Obligation to your reading list

I have had this sitting on my shelf for what seems like forever but have only just gotten round to reading it.

Why did I wait? Right from the start I was drawn to Alexis and Bryce and their off the charts sexual attraction.

I felt for Alexis and the way she was torn between Bryce and her husband, but I just wanted her to be with Bryce.

I am glad that I have the next book ready to go right away.

Brylexis forever .... I hope

This is the second book in the Rock Kiss series, but can be read as a standalone.

We meet mousy, quiet, skittish Charlotte Baird as she is about to assault her new boss, and things in their relationship go from there. Is it going to be a good or a bad relationship though?

Sexy ex rugby union star Gabriel Bishop is pretty much smitten with Charlotte the minute he meets her. There is just something about her that he can't help but be attracted to.

The attraction between the pair is undeniable... and smoking hot. The UST makes the air crackle between then.

But we know the good things are never meant to be easy. And boy are they not easy. Charlotte has had some terrible things in her past that still affect her today, Gabriel's family life growing up was pretty shitty, and that anger drives him still.

I love love love the bickering between Charlie-mouse and T-Rex. I think that you can truly only bicker like that with someone you care for. I mean really, why else would you bother??

I also adore the rugby aspects of this book. I am a huuuuge rugby fan (go the 'Tahs!!) so I could really get into that aspect of Gabriel's life.

I ran through the whole gamut of emotions reading Rock Hard. I laughed, I sneered and jeered, my heart broke and my heart soared. I adored how much Gabriel adored Charlotte, even when she thought he was a player.

I also love love love the rugby background. I am a huge rugby fan so I will always pick up a book with rugby players - even better when they are alpha, sexy rugby players.

This series is the first of Ms Singh that I have read, and I will definitely be reading more.

OH.....MY...... HOT!!

I have read everything Ms Valentine has release, but I am telling you know, Naughty King ups the hotness scale a hundredfold.

Alexander King, the naughty king of Manhattan goes after what he wants.

Margo Buchanan, the feisty princess of Manhattan isn't going to give him what he wants.... or is she.

The games these two are playing with each other, you just know things are going to get messy.

And man oh man, what a mess they do end up in!

This is a sexy, off the charts hot first installment in this series.

Are our King and Princess going to take each other to heaven, or drag each other to hell?

I guess we will have to wait for part 2. And after that ending, we I am impatient for the next installment.

Oh my gosh, M. Robinson has done it again!

I have loved her work from the minute I picked up VIP, and her work just keeps on getting better and better.

If you have read the the VIP series (which you don't need to have done to read Tempting Bad) you have already met Devon and Brooke.

This is not a sweet, hearts and flowers romance. It is gritty, it is dark, it is emotional. And I LOVE it!

Devon is Ysabelle from VIP's best male friend, and Brooke is her best friend from working at VIP.

Now we need to ask ourselves - "Can two broken people really heal each other?"

From the minute we met Brooke in VIP, I was intrigued. Who was this woman? What was her story? What drover her to become a VIP.

And woah! What a story hers is! Her happy life is shattered when she is 16, and it sets her on the road to VIP. 16 is when she turns her back on love and leads her to be the woman she is today.

She is such a strong woman. She knows what she wants, when she wants it, and no one, and I mean no one is going to tell her what to do or get her to change.

"I was the girl your parents warned you about. The one they told you not to trust. The one to stay away from. The one that could break your heart, and go back for more. Just because I could."

Oh Devon. This man has to have the biggest, most open heart of any man. He put his life on hold as a teen, and now it is time for him to finally live and love for himself.

Oh boy, when their worlds collide, just hang on for the ride as it is an emotional rollercoaster

Brooke and Devon are just two beautiful, broken souls. I just wanted to give them both a big hug, tell them that things are going to get better, they just have to get better. They see each other - really see each other like no one has ever done before.

Can two people so broken ever feel whole again?

"What happens if you were half a person to begin with? I knew the answer. Devon. He completed me. We were both halvesw, who made each other whole. I hated him... That's a lie. I hated myself."

I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading Tempting Bad. Could they do it? Could they make it and be each other's everything. I sooooo wanted them to open up to each other, to trust each other - hard when they have not been able to trust those closest to them in their lives. They deserve love, they deserve happiness. I want it for them damn it!

Do they get it? Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.

I loved that we got a little more of Ysabelle and Sebastian from VIP in this book.

M Robinson knows how to write a hot, steamy book, but it is more than that. There is so much emotion in her stories, I couldn't help but shed a tear or two for our lovelies.

Every book I read of hers just gets better and better, and I can't wait to see what she has for us next.

This is a spin off of Ms Anderson's Drawn series, however you do not have to have read that series to enjoy Drawn To Fight.

In fact, I am calling this Drawn: The Next Generation , as it is about the children of the people of Drawn.

Evie is the daughter of Damien and Etta from Drawn, and while there are similarities between mother and daughter, there is so much different too. Evie is streetwise to her mother's naivety. But one this is for sure...

They both love a bad boy.

Zac is the bad boy fighter that Evie can't help but be drawn to. She has been drawn to him since high school but so much has happened since then.

But nothing stops him wanting her.

There is so much going on behind the scenes with Zac, and OMG my heart ached for him. This is not your typical NA book with typical high school worries. This is so, so much more.

This does not romanticise the underground fight movement either. It shows it is dark and dirty, and the people that run it as such too. I love UFC and MMA, so the more of this the better.

Ms Anderson writes scenes so that you can practically hear the noise of the crowd, smell the sweat and the blood.

Helps that it is written in the area that I grew up, so I could really picture where things were happening.

This has made me want to go back and read the Drawn series again while I am waiting for the next book.

There are some great secondary characters. Love all of Evie's family, Zac's family - well for the most part anyway - and need more.

The next book is going to be about Zac's sister Meg and her beau Hugo.
