I am a huuuuuge ice hockey fan, but have never gotten to see a game live (not many games in a small country town in Australia!!) but that is going to be remedied in the next couple of months.

So in the meantime, I will have to do with reading my books about it. So Sawyer Bennett, you had me at “hockey star".

From the minute we meet Alex Crossman, I just knew I was going to love him, all his snarky comments and arseholey behaviour included! But as we learn more, I could completely understand his behaviour. Did I agree with it? Not always, but there were some things that I know I would have done the same things.

Sutton is the woman he is being forced to work with by team management, and he resents it = who wouldn't? But the sparks that fly the minute these two are in a room together can't be denied. Alex's motives towards Sutton are pure - pure carnal lust!

Sutton is adorable, sweet and oh so strong. Hell, what girl wouldn't want a super sexy sports star chasing her? I loved how she was with Alex. She made him think, made him question himself, made him look at things in a different way.

Oh, and let's not forget the sexy times. Hooooeeey they are hot! Like steam up your kindle screen hot!! Sports star = stamina!!

I adored Sutton's family, especially her little brother Glenn. Such an old head on a young kid. He is not a whiney 11 year old who wants everything he sees, and you just know he is going to be an amazing man. I also love how he gets Alex pretty much wrapped around his little finger from the minute he meets him!

So, can Alex and Sutton make it? Can they overcome the differences in their position in life? Or are their differences the thing that make them absolutely perfect for each other? How will they deal with the sports groupies? Will they get their HEA??

Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself!

There are some great secondary character. I love love LOVE Alex's teammate Garrett. He is just the best! He is a smart arse, a bit whorish, but he is great for Alex, and when things happen, he is a huge advocate for Alex and Sutton getting together. I cannot wait to get to Garrett's story!!

Oh, and there is a wonderful homage to the movie "Love Actually" in this book, and this brought the biggest grin to my face as I read it

I have loved all of Sawyer Bennett's works that I have read previously, and I know I will read everything I can get my hands on in the future.

Thank you getting me all hyped up for my first hockey game, as like Sutton, I am a "hockey virgin"!!!

I have said it before and I will say it again, I love Lauren Dane's work, and I am looking forward to the Hurley Boys series.

Loved Patrick "Paddy" Hurley from the minute we first meet him at the coffee shop. There was just something about him that drew me right in.

Natalie Clayton is the local librarian with a history with the sexy rocker. I liked her, I did, but gees louise I really wanted to slap some sense into her and tell her to get living in the now, and to get her head out of the past.

There was a bit of overkill with the "buttons" getting pushed. Yes they both had triggers that set them off, but we didn't need to hear about them every single time. We got it (at least I did, this might not bother anyone else!)

Loved the Hurley family. Patrick's brothers are all fantastic in their own way. Got a bit of a soft spot for big bro Ezra, and can't wait to get more into his story. Especially need to know what is happening with him and Nat's best friend Tuesday!

Was great that we got to see Adrian Brown again too.

Looking forward to the next in the Hurley Brothers series.

Irresistible Force is the first full length novel in the K-9 rescue series, there was a novella, Necessary Force, but I have not read this one and do not feel it is necessary to get the full effect of this novel.

From the minute I started reading Irresistible Force I was hooked.  There was action and suspense right from the word go.  The beginning did tend to drag out just a little bit - about a quarter of the way into the book and we were still getting through the first day!  But I guess there was just so much going on!

James Cannon is the police officer searching for his stolen partner, Bogart.

Shay Appleton is the woman who saved Bogart from being euthanised, unwittingly taking possession of police property.

I have to say I loved James.  He was hot and sexy and alpha.  His concern for his partner is beautiful.  His willingness to go against what his bosses want him to do to find him is beautiful and admirable.

Shay - hmmm  she is a bit of a confusing one.  She goes from this fierce woman defending herself and standing up to armed men breaking into her house, to simpering in fear over the leaves moving in the tree.

As we get to know her story we can understand some of issues, but gees she gives you whiplash with her mood swings!

And seriously, how many different people can a woman have after her?  It is as if she pissed off every crime boss, drug dealer and psycho in the state of North Carolina!  It started to get to the stage where I wanted to roll my eyes and go "oh, you're after her too?  The cue starts here."

Bogart really did prove that he was man (and woman's) best friend.  His training does give him heightened senses like all K-9 unit dogs, but he just seemed to go above and beyond when it came to both James and Shay, he was so divided where his loyalties were.

The attraction between James and Shay is off the charts hot.  Even when they hate each other, they want each other.  You just know that if and when they get together it is going to be explosive.

Irresistible Force is a well written and edited novel.  Once we got past the first day, the pacing was great.  I was drawn into the story right from the start and read the whole story in one setting.  It was just a shame that Shay became a bit ridiculous  :(

What a rollercoaster!!

I have never known a book with so many manipulative, self centred, horrible people who were determined to keep two people apart.

Leo, Holly, Julian, Graham. I still haven't worked out in my mind who is the worst of the lot.

Andy needed to make up her mind sooner grrrr her procrastinating and the fact that she let everyone manipulate her made me want to throw the kindle through the window. And communication people, boy all the grief Andy and Vanni put us through because they would not talk to each other made me want to slam their heads together.

They need their HEA, but I think it is going to be another topsy turvy read with the Mogul......

I have to say, I wasn't going to read Mogul. Even as I started I was still not sure I was going to finish it

The manipulative behavious of the side characters and the weakness of the main characters in the first two books frustrated me so much!

I was glad that this behaviour, though still right through the book was toned down, and did not frustrate me as much.

Glad I read it now, I don't like to give up on a series when I start it!!

I had not read the first book in the series (Knock Out) but this did not at all take away from Power Play, as it was about different characters.

I don't know abuot you, but I love a good second chance romance, and that was what we got with Power Play.

Macy and Raphael (Raffie)were best friends come lovers, seemingly inseparable until 8 years ago, when it all turned to crap.

I wanted sooooo much for these two to get their s*&t together! Gah! Misunderstandings and miscommunications ruined what they had all those years back and they just neeeeeeded to get it right. When things started to go backwards again I wanted to scream at them!

The chemistry between Raffie and Macy is still there and still electric. Wowsers, steam up your kindle hotness! I loved how determined Raphael was to make things right again - I mean seriously, what girl could say no when she is being pursued by all that sexiness?!?

I really enjoyed this quick sexy read, now I will go back and read the first book and impatiently await the 3rd!

Be warned - though this book is about an erotica write, it does not contain any erotica (and you all know how I love my smut!)

That being said, I completely adored Neurotica! It is good to once in a while "cleanse the mind" of all the dirty things that I read (and watch!!) and get an honest to goodness sweet geeky romance.

Jayne's neuroses really do seem to take on a life of their own, and taint Jayne's view of the world a bit. I do love her quirky way of looking at the world though!

It makes me wonder though, that someone who has so many hangups about sex - heck, can't even say the words sex and penis without getting embarrassed - can write such smutty erotica? You would think she would need at least a bit of experience, but maybe this is just me.

I love her geeky, Star Wars loving, duck obsessed side hard.

Luke "Piewalker" Walker is her friend that she can share her geeky side with. And she is secretly crushing on

Holden is the new guy at the newspaper who likes her, pursues her.

And this is where things for me just didn't feel right. Luke has always given off the brotherly kind of vibe to me, not the potential lover. Why all of a sudden is he the one to get her over her issues when he has been there for years? And only for him too? Any other man looks at her and it was all gross?

I just didn't feel the lusty, heady feelings between them, no matter how much I wanted to.

Holden felt more like the potential one to make that breakthrough -but this might have just been me.

I loved Jayne's best friend Gretchen. I thought it was fantastic the way she pushed Jayne to work on her issues and to move forward.

Neurotica is a sweet, albeit a tad predictable story. If you are a hopeless romantic or love your geek-romance, this should definitely be one to read.

I flip flopped between 3.5 and 4 stars on this one, so 3.75 it is!

Holy cliffhanger Batman! Thankfully I have the whole series ready and waiting for me.

This is a real, gritty book and boy was it ugly at times. but I like the rawness of Naomi and Turner.

Now to quickly read a bit of Get Bent before bed!

3.5 stars

Believe me when I says that this is definitely for mature audiences only!

Jazz Mickelson is on a journey of self discovery. Widowed at 26, she is getting out there and finally living her life. She loved her husband, but she realises she has missed out on so much in her short life.

Julian St. Savuer is the sexy, worldly man, and though he has everything someone feels they need, he wants love. Commitment.

When they meet on a flight to Paris, things heat up pretty damn quickly. From meeting to pretty much joining the mile high club in one short flight. It may just be me, but their behaviour on the plane felt a little bit creepy - feeling each other up while the other is sleeping, things like that.

I loved that Jazz was not the cookie-cutter heroine. She was part boho chic, part bad ass biker chick! Dreadlocks instead of perfectly coiffed hair. This made her all kinds of awesome in my mind. And Julian is not the regular "Billionaire around town" and loved that he had to fight for more with Jazz, rather than the girl chasing after the man.

Ms Sloane has a way with imagery that just makes you feel like you are right there in Paris with our duo, seeing the sights, smelling the smells.

So while I did enjoy the story, there were a few things in the execution that let things down.

Punctuation: We would know we were starting a conversation because we had "quote marks" to open but not to close. I had to go back at times and reread thinking "huh? What are they talking about?" only to find that they are no longer in a conversation. I am a bit of a punctuation perfectionist at times, so this bothered me.

Text talk: There is nothing wrong with text talk when the characters are messaging each other, but I had issues with it being used to convey emotions, etc. Eg instead of saying "he smirked", all we got at the end of a sentence was *smirk*, like she was adding an emoticon. And this happened a lot!

Grammatical errors: There were quite a few of these, especially at the beginning but this got better as the story continued.

POV: sometimes this flip flopped between the two so quickly that I was not sure who I was reading.

There is nothing here that a couple of rounds of edits couldn't fix, but it would make it more enjoyable to read.

I loved how compatible Jazz and Julian were in the bedroom. I mean seriously hot stuff. I just wish that there had been more of an emotional connection between them - though I can understand why there isn't to begin with, being a holiday fling and all, and his is the first part in a trilogy, so this may come as their story continues.

This is Ms Sloane's debut novel, and yes I really could see the "potential" in it. I am interested to see where Jazz and Julian's relationship goes, and I will read the next book in the series.
