ARC RECEIVED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
I have been on the ride with Kimberly Knight since she published Where I Need to Be, and it was a pleasure to be part of the blog tour for her new series, The Halo Series.
Brooke is in a dead end relationship with Jared, she just doesn't realise how bad things have really gotten. When her bestie buys her a ticket for a cruise ~ a single's cruise ~ she takes the opportunity to get away for a while. And to act as Nicole's "wing woman".
Easton is the consumate "one night stand-er", single dad who doesn't do or want a relationship. His best friend Avery is looking for "the one" and books them both onto the single's cruise. Easton is looking forward to a week of hook ups and just getting laid.
Ah, the best laid plans! A quick encounter on the cruise, can this lead to much more for all four of our main characters? Or will this be a holiday fling that starts and ends on a cruise ship?
Tattooed Dots is a heartbreaking but heartwarming about relationships, love and loss, friendship. I didn't like Easton at first, found some of his acts quite deplorable really, but wow what a way to flip that so I loved him. So caring and compassionate when it comes to his daughter and his friends.
Brooke is such a strong, strong character. Raising her younger sister from the age of 13, yet still has gone on to really make something of herself, all the while still looking out for her sister. She has so much love for her sister and her best friend, but needs to take more time out for herself.
I loved the chemistry between Easton and Brooke. Neither of them were looking for anyone, but it goes to show that love will find you when you are not looking for it.
They UST between them is so think you could cut it with a knife! I loved that they did not jump straight into bed with each other, that their relationship was allowed to develop naturally, and not an "insta-love" kind of relationship.
Nicole and Avery are just perfect. They are the complete opposites of Brooke and Easton, and they all bounce of each other so well.
Ms Knight has a knack of drawing you into her stories and keeping you on your toes as to what is going to happen. Each book she releases is better than the last as she hones her craft.
There has been some people asking "what does Tattooed Dots mean?" - I can't tell this without spoiling things, but just know that it is something very personal to Ms Knight, and it will surprise you what it actually means.
I am glad the she has decided to make a series instead of making Tattooed Dots a stand alone (not a cliffy so you can read as a stand alone). I look forward to getting more into the lives of Brooke and Easton, Nicole and Avery.

Conklin's Foundation follows on directly from Conklin's Blueprints so you will need to read it first to keep up with the story.
After finally telling everyone what she really thought of them after years of holding it in and being the nice guy, Becca thinks she might have finally pushed everyone she loves away. I LOVED how she finally let loose on everyone. No one was safe and I was so happy she did this, as she really was a bit of a doormat up to this stage.
Never fear - Tyler is here to save the day, in a knight in shining armour kind of way. He is proud of her for finally standing up for herself, and falls a little more in love with her.
But the road to true love is never an easy one, and both Becca and Tyler's pasts are always there waiting to poke their head around the corner and cause a little more trouble.
Tyler and Becca are separated quite a bit for Foundation, and this leads to a lot of the misunderstandings and arguments between the pair. With them split so much, it is testament to how strong their relationship has become that they did not allow it to break them.
Becca's ex Connor comes back on the scene, the infamous Nanny Margo (hisssssss) is still hanging around and causing grief.
RJ, Tyler's father, really is creepy. Seriously creepy!! But I loved the rest of his family = mum Mary and brother Nathan and Mitch. Love love love the banter and interaction between Nathan and Becca's BFFf Jamie - with a bit of a surprise thrown in there! And there are some scenes with Becca and her friend Gage that are frustrating and heartbreaking all at the same time as being filled with so much love, that I wanted to throttle him and hug him at the same time.
Conklin's Foundation carried Becca and Tyler's story forward extremely well. It is filled with love and lust, jealousy, trouble making exes, secrets and lies. I felt that the way the characters handled the situations felt natural. There was no instant-forgiveness for all discretions, they fought, they loved, they laughed and things progressed as they should.
Foundation ends, setting us up for the 3rd book in the series, leading with the "legal" problems that were alluded to in book 2. How much do the sons know of the "deals" that Tyler's father and grandfather have set up?
I guess for that we are all going to have to wait.
Throughout Conklin's Blueprints there were some pretty glaring grammatical errors (these may have been fixed since I read it, and they may not bother you, but they really stood out to me). I was pleased that these issues were not present in Conklin's Foundation.
Ms Page has drawn me into the lives of Becca and Tyler, Becca's friends and the Conklin family, and I am really looking forward to seeing where things end up in this series.

Alluring Seduction carries on from where book 1, Alluring Turmoil, ends. While it is not necessary to read the first book, it does give you a better idea of the dynamics between the characters.
Anyone who knows me knows I love my rock stars, so I always jump at the chance to read a rock star book. and I am so glad I have read this series!
We first met Jessie "Salami" Adams and Blue "Witch" Delaney quickly in Alluring Turmoil, and even though they were just quick meets, I was intrigued as to what their story way.
Jessie and Blue have known each other for years, Blue is great friends with Jude and the other members of Bayou Stix, so has known all the boys for a long time. But she has always butted heads with Jessie, and she doesn't know why he hates her so much.
Jessie is the consumate rock star. Whatever he wants, he gets with a click of the fingers. Casual sex with groupies, yeah he has that in abundance. But it's not what he wants any more. He sees his friends settling down and he wants that for himself.
Blue has gotten under his skin, but she hates him for some reason.
They say it is a fine line between love and hate, and that what Ms Turner has given us with Alluring Seduction.
There is an animalistic attraction between Jessie and Blue that is H.O.T!! Elevators anyone??? Yet there is so much more between then than even they realise. Blue thinks she has kept her attraction and love for Jessie hidden from the rest of the guys and her friends, but they all know it.
They have been circling around each other for years, their fighting in foreplay
Months on the road together will either make them or break them.
And when they finally get their act together it is steamy, sexy.
They decide on one night to get it all out of their system. But will one night ever be enough for them?
I loved the Blue was a strong, feisty women. She could give as good as she could take, she would not let anyone talk down to her or treat her like crap.
When her past comes back and raises it's ugly head, she took it face on and gave it back big time - woo hoo you go gir1!
Salami and Witch - you will love them, you will hate them. You will be totally frustated with them at times. but then you will be their biggest cheerleader. You will be fanning yourself with all their hotness. You will swoon over Jessie. I love when the "bad boy" meets his match and brings them to their knees.
Ms Turner took us on a ride in Alluring Turmoil, but it was more like a calm Sunday drive compared to Seduction. In Seduction she gone full throttle and you will need to hang on tight!
I really liked Turmoil, but I Loved Seduction.
Now I can't wait for book 3, Alluring Ties. So get writing Ms Turner

Oh how I love Z. I loved that we got see behind the story and the struggles that Bella and Z have as a newly married couple and new parents.
Hearing why he has put the distance in his relationships was heart breaking, but the way he comes through and becomes the man he is heartwarming.
was great to learn more of Ball s.
JR Ward can do no wrong with this series (even with Phury's story lol)

ARC RECEIVED FROM ST MARTINS PRESS VIA NETGALLEY FOR HONEST REVIEW
I was first drawn to this book when asked if I wanted to review by the beautiuful cover - I am a sucker for a man with tattoos.
The story inside is not always so beautiful.
Josie has had amnesia for 9 years, and to deal with the every day she uses
She is barely hanging on most days, until she is inexplicably drawn to a guy in an alleyway one night - not that way!! - and for whatever reason she can't keep away.
Tristan once loved a girl called Mackenzi, until she moved away, and soon after died. Or did she?
Beautiful Addiction is a story that although some of the storyline is pretty much in the cookie cutter mould, it is enough different that it kept me interested right through.
There is a heck of a lot going on in the background of this story, but I don't want to give anything away by talking about it. But gees louise these are some complicated lives these two are living!
You are just going to have to read it yourself to find out what it's all about.
This is Ms Vining's debut novel, and she has not done a bad job of it at all. The main characters kept me intrigued with their stories, the secondary characters added to the story rather than detract from it, and I felt they were integral to the main storyline.
At times I felt the pacing was a bit off, and occasionally I had to double check whose POV I was reading, but this was not too bad, just that I noticed it a couple of times.
Beautiful Addictions is a story of love and loss. Reconnection. Addiction. Chance and fate play a big part of the story. It does talk about abuse so you have been warned.
Overall Ms Vining has given a book that does not go by the run of the mill romance story, and the characters all had a bit of substance to them.

The premise of Fierce is not a new one - nerdy girl meets bad boy - but the synopsis had me intrigued and wanting to read.
As much as I wanted to LOVE Fierce, I couldn't. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, just didn't love it.
Autumn was bullied all through high school and was after a fresh start with her best friend at college. Her other best friend is already at the same school, but gees, I couldn't find anything to like about him, Brody ,at all! What a douche!!
Hunter is the resident bad boy that Autumn instantly lusts after, but really I didn't find him much of a bad boy at all. Sure some of the things he did weren't great, but he wasn't all that bad.
I felt that the characters didn't stay true to form. They were a bit hipolar sometimes with their behaviour, especially Autumn. She's the shy nerd girl who wants to do well at school, acts all virginal then BAM she is swearing like it would make sailors blush, getting all up in people's business and coming on to Hunter!
I also felt that there was too much going on in the book. There was the nerdy best friends/I'm in love with my best friend, ex-best friends gone bad, frat parties, shady deals etc etc.
And I still haven't completely got my head around the deal with the frat house ~~ is it a frat house? A gang? An underground fighting club? A drug syndicate??
he story also lacked flow. It seemed to jump around from one story line to another which just added to the confusion. If a few of the side stories were removed it might have read a lot better.
I didn't really connect with any of the characters, couldn't get immersed in the story with them. I like to really lose myself in a story but I felt completely disconnected from this one.
And then I felt that the ending was very rushed. There had been all these story lines, but POOF within a chapter or 2, all the loose ends were tied up and everyone was happily moving on. Huh?? Really??
While Fierce was obviously not the book for me, you may love it, like a lot of others do, but I have to be honest in my reviews and I just didn't feel this one at all.
BUT - I do LOOOOVE the cover!!

I have not read book 1 in the Perfect Fit series (Dangerous Curves Ahead) and do not feel that it is necessary to have read it to get into Thrown For A Curve.
22 year old Charlotte "Cherri" hasn't had the easiest. Left with her mother at 8 years old when her mother took off, she has spent the last years looking after her grandmother, working her butt off at school and in her best friend's store.
At 6 foot tall and with curves you could drive on for days, she thinks she is a bit of a freak and no guy would really want her.
Ugh! I swear the way she talked about herself, you would think she was 8 foot tall and 200kg, she has such a low opinion of herself!
Colin is the sexy Irishman, her best friend's husbands best mate. Since his last relationship, he has manwhored his way through half of New York, but now only has eyes for Cherri, but won't act on it because of the age difference. Bad boy reformed?
Cue the boy wants girl, girl wants boy, friends think it is a bad idea, boy and girl get together anyway. Bad things happen, boy and girl have troubles, break up and make up.
It is a pretty run of the mill scenario, but I did enjoy it.
At times it felt like both the MC, Colin and Charlotte devolved into 15 year old whiney teenager. Sure I could understand that a bit from Charlotte as she has never been in a relationship before and is only 22 (though I am sure that someone would have shot me if I had been like that in my 20s!!) but it really did irritate me. She could be so mature but so immature at times. And aaargh Colin you are a 34 year old man, act like it!
There were a couple of things that I felt weren't really necessary ~ every time Colin is with his friends they bring up "you're such a manwhore". OK - we get it! We got it the first dozen times it was brought up. I felt that this was overkill, and I did feel sorry for him that his friends treated him this way.
The other thing was Colin's ex. Did she really need to come into the story? Or was she just there to prove Colin's reformation from manwhore to one-woman man? She just seemed superfluous to me.
I loved loved loved Baba and Rufus (the dog). Baba was a feisty old Ukrainian woman, got her words hilariously mixed up. And boy she may be old but she still goes for the men! She is great the way she interacts with Colin.
Thrown for a Curve has it's funny moments, but it has quite a lot of dark, sad moments as well. Cherri goes through more than a 22 year old should have to in her years.
This is the first Sugar Jamison I have read, and if I come across more I will read them too.

So much emotion is conveyed in just 60 pages! And this novella is a perfect companion to the Inside Out series (and really, Ms Jones could write Chris reading the chinese takeaway menu to us and I know I would read it!!)
We start where we left off, with Chris and Sara getting engaged in Paris. As we know, Chris and Sara's relationship has not been smooth sailing, and as we can expect from Ms Jones, we get plenty of angst, sorry, pain and drama, as well as love and lust. And boy the sexy times are sexy!!
Chris' past is still coming to play in his relationship with Sara, and you can feel his heartache as they work through their problems. Will their love be enough to get them through, or will Chris allow the past to rip them apart?
Uh uh, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.
Ms Jones has also given us a taste of the next book in the series, which will be Marks POV.
