Adam's Boys is a sweet contemporary romance set (for the most part) in my home town Sydney, which was great as I could kind of picture a lot of the areas written about.
After reading the blurb I was intrigued, but when reading, the book was more like the cover than the blurb. Not that this was a bad thing, as I really enjoyed the book.
shortly after the death of his wife, Brit Adam Cooper has a 3 week break and 3 week fling in Sydney with a friend of a friend, Abbie. As he returns to England, he promised Abbie he will call her, but guilt over his actions so soon after his wife's death, and of leaving his newborn son make him think what he has done is unforgivable, and walks away.
Unbeknownst to him, Abbie has fallen pregnant during their brief affair.
Skip ahead 4 years:
Adam and his son Pete are back in Sydney. Abbie decides she cannot keep her son Henry from his father anymore and arranges a meeting to let him know.
This is where things start to get interestting between Adam, Abbie, Henry and Pete.
There will be anger, there will be tears, there will be smiles and laughter, there will be hurt and misunderstandings.
Can two people with such an attraction but such a history every find their happy place without hurting each other or their kids? They have both made mistakes in their past, but will they be able to overcome them and move forward?
For this you will have to read for yourself.
Ana Clifton has written a sweet but angsty romance, where at times I both loved and hated the main protaganists. At times I just wanted to clip them both around the ears and tell them to take a good hard look at themselves, but in the context of their relationship I could understand why they did what they did.
Adam's Boys was a find way to fill in a few hours on the lounge with a cuppa.

Shards of My Heart is not the normal kind of book we have all around us these days.
It is gritty, real. It is not the easiest book to read, as the subject matter is not all rainbows and butterflies. Not a pretty read at all. But a compelling read.
Nina's husband is struggling with mental illness and violent outbursts.
Her daughter requires constant care. Nina is at her wits end.
How would you react in this situation?
Shards of my Heart is written in the form of Nina's journal, and covers the period of a month, from her husband's breakdown, to a separation, to a reconciliation.
The journal format of writing was different to me, and still I am not sure what I think about it. Sometimes I found it difficult to get into the story as the journal style seemed to push the reader out a little bit, but other times it dragged me right back in.
There is a bit of Nina in every woman. She puts everyone else before herself, she is a passionate wife, wonderful mother, loving friend. She is stubborn and independent. And fiercely loyal.
You can feel her struggles as she tries to come to terms with her crumbling relationship, protecting her child. But she also loves her husband and is torn between staying and leaving. It is heart breaking but also inspiring how she gets through every day.
That's what this book is about. The realism comes from the fact that not every problem is happily fixed without a backward glance. It is a realistic depiction that a lot of women (and men too) find themselves in every day of the week. We don't all have a happy life without struggles.
Miss Moore has chosen to go down a darker path with Shards of My Heart. I myself have suffered from depression and as I was reading it brought a few tears to my eyes as I read about Shane's daily struggles. It drew me back to my daily struggles to get out of bed each day and deal with what life threw at me.
If you are after a read with a bit more substance than a lot of the love and fluff books out there at the moment (which I love as much as the next person!!) then Shards of My Heart is the place to start

This is the second book by Ms Corona, and I love it just as much, if not more than I did her first book (A Friendship's Love).
A Love of Conviction is the story of Eliza and William, and some of the story runs in parallel to A Friendship's Love (but you don't have to have read it).
Ms Corona has a knack for descriptive writing. While the characters are on the convict ship you can practically feel the roll of the waves, smell the sea air, feel the grip of the irons around your wrists and ankles. She draws you right in there with her characters, and it is as if you are sitting right there with them.
I am not a big reader of historical romance, but there is just something so real about this Settler's series. Ms Corona writes about Australia's convict history sympathetically and does not romanticise things. She does not glamourise what convicts went through, she tells it as it was, the good the bad and the ugly side of things. And this just makes me love her writing even more.
I cannot wait to see what she brings us next.

Give Me All Of is a spin off of the Black Hollywood series, but could be read as a stand alone - though this is a great series, so I would read them all.
The road to true happiness is never an easy one, and Jake and Beth's relationship has been rocky. To say it is an
**insert emotional rollercoaster gif** would be an understatement.
Beth's past is determining her future. She can't seem to get past it, and it is playing havoc with her relationship with Jake. Jake is holding of on for dear life, never going to allow Beth to run away again.
Jake is completely and irrevocably in love with Beth, and it pains him that she won't allow herself to be with him completely.
We all know that secrets in a relationship can't be a good thing, but what will Jake do when he finds out Beth's? What will happen when Beth receives news that knocks her world off its axis?
I was such a cheerleader for Jake and Beth to get their relationship where it needed to be. My heart kept breaking for Jake as he kept fighting for Beth to stay with him. There is so much love between them but will it be enough when one loves more freely than the other?
Will the get their HEA???
Nope, you will have to read and find out for yourself!
I loved that we got more of Caston and Sabrina Black in this book. I loved that we got a bit of a continuation of their story through Beth.
And I couldn't help but adore Beth's brother Maxx!
F.L Jacob has written a beautiful story that tackles some pretty hard issues, and she has done it well. The emotions rolled off the pages, the story flowed well and kept me interested from the word go.
I can't wait to see what she gives us next.

Copy received from author for an honest review.
I have adored all the previous Anna Clifton books I have read, so the chance to read an advanced copy of Making Ends Meet was a no brainer.
The road to love is always going to be bumpy, but add in kids and an ex-wfie, and Somer and Harry's romance is all the more difficult.
I love the way Ms Clifton writes her characters. Somer and Harry are both flawed. The kids aren't perfect little specimens who do no bad. The kids react and feel like kids should.
Somer and Harry are both kind of broken, neither of them looking for a relationship, but they fall into one anyway
I love how they are perfect for each other - flaws, warts and all. There is the push/pull between them, and at times my heart broke for both of them.
Making Ends Meet is one of those stories that you know where the story is (hopefully) going to end up, but it is the ride you are taken an along the way that makes it so much better.
Ms Clifton draws you into the story right from the first chapter, and you won't want to stop reading until you get to the end.
It is a sweet romance, not to over the top with the sexy times (not that I mind that at all!!) and it will leave you with a smile on your face and in your heart.

In this weeks episode we are focusing on.....Theo!
But as much as this is Theo's story, I felt that it was also a lot more Rei and Sawyer's story.
Anni is the annoying fangirl, president of the fan club. Theo and the boys have never met her - and aren't keen on meeting her.
But boy, do things take a turn for the hotter once they do meet her. Band mates Rei and Sawyer have some issues that she thinks she can help get sorted, as well as get Theo's attention. Does she what! Send in the fire brigade because things are going to get
