It is always bittersweet when an series you have adored comes to an end - I wanted to read Preston so much, but I didn't want to as I didn't want the Dick Dynasty to end.

But David Michael has certainly saved the best till last with Preston.

This book is the perfect blend of wit and snark, sweetness and dark, love and laughter - without an overdose of drama.

Oh, and there is plenty of heat between our lovelies too.

Preston and Mitch very quickly became my favourite DD couple - there's just something about the, both together and apart that just got me.

I loved getting more of Porter and Parker and their lovely ladies, I laughed, I smiled and maybe, must maybe there may have been a tear or two at times - but this cannot be confirmed nor denied.

Thank you Mr Michael for these wonderful, lovable boys. I can't wait to see what you bring us next.

Of all the Hale boys in the Dick Dynasty, Parker is the one that I have been most looking forward to.

While I loved Porter, I LOVED Parker.

Parker is full of emotion, full of attitude. There is a lot more angst and I felt a lot more substance than Porter (not that Porter didn't have any, but this is just ramped up).

Parker took me on an

and I didn't want to get off the ride.

The one thing that I really wasn't expecting was how much I disliked Holly (Porter's girlfriend) in this book. I adored her in the first book, but this time she was a judgmental b!tch that I wanted to slap.

I love the relationship between Rebecca and Mitch (and when she isn't pissing me off, Holly) and I really, reaaaaally need Mitch to to find his HEA.

Can't wait for Preston's story and the conclusion of the Dick Dynasty.

I can't lie, having done the tree change myself, I am a sucker for a city girl/guy goes country story.

Add in an adorable pupper, and you have me, hook line and sinker.

Izzy and Elliot's story yes, is a cute rural romance, but it does tackle some darker, deeper subjects, and it does it well

I did dislike his parents for the most part, but they did redeem themselves eventually lol

This was my first Lily Malone story, and i will read more in the future

Welcome back to Summersweet Island, VA.

If you haven't read the previous three books, you are in for a treat (and you really do need to go back and read them!)

Whilst the previous books have been about the kids and finding their true loves, we are now focused on Wren and Birdie's mum Laura, whom we have met. She owns the ice cream stand and is mum to all - she adopts the strays and the friends of her daughters.

Gah, I loved it. I loved that we are reading about people in my age bracket or older. I loved that we are dealing with people who have been dealt crappy hands in the past and are now living their best lives. I love how they are still so young at heart.

I freaking love Uncle Dean (every time I read Dean I thought of Dean Winchester, which made me think of Uncle Dean as Papa Winchester, Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

It was wonderful to get more of the couples I have loved in the past (and thankfully, Bodhi and Tess were a lot tamer in this book than they have in the past - they kinda annoyed me before. This time the just made me laugh).

I want to go get Summersweeted on Summersweet Island - who is coming to join me?

What do you get when you mix a cult, The Little Mermaid and bikers?

You get Viking, that's what you get.

And whilst you think they would not go well together, they do. The really do.

Arie and Viking shouldn't work. He is no Prince Eric, but he sure is Arie's prince charming.

The things that get him all hot should turn you off off. We shouldn't like him at all, but you can't help but absolutely adore him - even if his proclivities are stomach turning.

We don't have any of those fluffy bikers collecting toys for kids here. These guys are the hardcore, murderous kind of bikers who, whilst we love them in our books, you would run run run just as fast as you can away from these guys if you ever met them. They are dark, gritty, and heartbreaking.

And I couldn't put the book down.

It was a great way for Ms Jenner to bring us back to her writing.

I hope we get more of some of the other characters in the future

I haven't read the first in the All The Duke's Sins series but that did not affect my reading or enjoyment of Desperately Seeking a Duchess,

I enjoyed the role reversal of this - now we have the Duke looking for a rich woman to support him and his family, not the simpering, eyelash batting debutante looking for a husband this season.

This was a fun story. In fact, it gave me strong vibes of Anthony Bridgerton's story in the Bridgerston series. The lawn bowls had a strong whiff of the Pall Mall scene - and I enjoyed them both.

Gossip, reputation and family are a big part in Courtland finding his love, and I couldn't wait to turn each page to find out where they were at.

I need to go back and read the first book, and I look forward to more from this author in the future.
