Cat Johnson had me at SEAL - like she always does.

Shadow Pawn is a very suspenseful, action packed, SEALy story that I just adored,

I liked Angela and Adam right from the start, and we are taken on a Bourne-like international adventure, never know who you can trust..

I kind of guessed who the bad guy was about half way through, but until it was all revealed, I could not really be sure.

I was thinking of Jack from Speed (is there ever a bad time to think of Keanu Reeves) as their relationship grows - you know how he says " I've heard relationships based on tense experiences never work" - and all you can hope is that Adam and Angela are the exception.

Ms Johnson could write me a SEAL story every month, and I would never get sick of them, I loved seeing some of her OG SEALs make an appearance.

Can't wait for more in the future.

Another super cute story from Helena Hunting. And set in my favourite city in the USA that I have visited - Seattle. We are already on a winner!!

We already met Jake and Hanna in A Secret For A Secret, but forget that other book.

I am in love with A Kiss For A Kiss!

Firstly - yay for a couple in their 40s getting it on and falling in love. This old duck, whilst loves all the youngun' getting their HEA, is so happy to get more stories of people my age.

Though preggers at 46 like Hanna *shudders* hahah

I loved that they had struggles that are more relatable to me, and I couldn't help but fall in lust, and then love with Jake. Hanna is one lucky lady, and if she didn't want him, I would have thrown my hat in the ring for a go

Oh man.

The Flat Share is one of my favourite books of the past few years, so I had high hopes for The Road Trip.

And unfortunately, for me, it did not reach the lofty heights of The Flat Share.

I found myself quite bored with it to be honest. It meandered along slowly, with a few times when I laughed out loud, but for the most part, it was just meh.

I didn't really like Dyan or Addie. I thought with the back and forward to the now and then of the storytelling, I would find myself liking at least one of them better than the other. But no, sorry I didn't.

In fact, it was only the last 20% of the story that got me up to a 3 star - and it was lucky that I didn't give up on it so I could get to that part.

Addie's sister Deb was the only character I really liked. If the road trip ended with them driving off a cliff, she would have been the only one I would have mourned.

I am sorry Ms O'Leary, but that one really didn't do it for me at all. I do look forward to what you bring us next though.

After reading one of my favourite books of the past few years, "Red, White and Royal Blue", I have seen a slew of these kinds of stories out there.

I had never read Paul Rudnick before, however the blurb of Playing the Palace intrigued me.

The author has definitely pulled inspiration from RW&RB, however to me Playing The Palace felt a little contrived.

Now, firstly, I was pulled up by the "Crown Prince" of England. I know this is fiction, but call him what he is, don't make up a title that doesn't exist (this is probably just my thing, but it irked me)

I am also not a big fan of insta-love, and this one goes from meeting to meeting the Queen in 4.2 seconds.

Oh, and don't get me started on the Queen. The only "royal" relationships I even liked in this book were those between Edgar and his guy James and the security team.

The only people who brought this up to a 3 star read for me were Abby and Aunt Miriam. If it wasn't for them, I probably would have DNF'd this one.

But these are just my feelings, I am sure there will be plenty of others out there who will absolutely adore it,

Yaaaas! We are back on Whisper Island with Maggie Doyle, and the only questions I have to ask? How many bodies will she find today!

Add in the devil cat Quibbles, and we are in for all kinds of fun and games.

When Maggie and her partner in (solving) crime Lenny are on the case, there is no end to the mayhem and mishaps that ensue. Lord, Lenny always makes me laugh out loud with his antics.

You will have a good ol' time trying to figure out whodunnit - I had an idea of the whom but not the why this time). Ms Keane, the queen of quirky cozy mysteries had me stumped for the most part.

This is the 7th book in the Movie Club Mystery series, and I am enjoying them more than I did at the start.

I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

The Queen of Angst is back with the second installment in the Playboy Pact series,

Now, I liked Leo and Mila's story in the first book, however I liked this second installment better

Now, I will say that I wasn't sure how I was going to like The Fling after the way these guys are. Sure, they are 16 years old and cocky, but they were sooooo unlikable with their pump and dump attitude towards females. I really couldn't see how any self respecting girl or woman would go near any of them with a 20 foot pole!

Ashton was probably my least favourite of the boys as I read book one, The Kiss, however now he is up there as a favourite.

I loved the growth in Ashton as an adult, even when those around him are still acting like little boys.

I loved how Sage protects her family, even when it is to her own detriment.

I loved the ride as they fell in love.

Now, this might just be a me thing, but I feel that this series is mislabelled as a rom-com. I don't think I laughed at all with this one..

I would call it angst-light instead.

I enjoyed this story, and I liked the set up for the next book in the series, about Cain (though Sawyer's book is the one I reaaaaalllly want!)

Yaaaaass b*tches! We're back in the True North-verse, and I can't get enough!

And not only are we in Shipley-land, we are in hockey land too!

This is Romeo & Julietish - without the murder and suicide and all that.

They say fighting is foreplay, which means the Maggie and Tate are gonna go off! I love that they love to hate each other, even if they don't know why.

I adore how they can't keep their eyes, or hands off each other. I love how they defy their families to be together

And don't get me started on their families. I have never loathes characters as much as I loathe Tate and Maggie's grandpas. They are despicable human beings to men and I just wanted them gone from the book

But this is probably just me.

I did like that we got to see some of the others we will learn more of in the moo U universe, however I was looking forward to more hockey, as I have loved Ms Denault's hockey books in the past, but I alo loved te farm-verse we have come to know and love.

Now right on to book 2
