Awww, Daybreak was so sweet and lovely and adorable.
Jasper is still so heartbroken, and it takes the ray of sunshine that is Liam to bring him back to life,
This reader was on a high, looking on as our lovelies fought their attraction to each other, fought the HEA that was right in front of them.
Again, as with other books in this series, it does cover a quite short time period, but is so well written and I was so engrossed in the story that it didn't feel rushed or too insta-lovey.
I loved getting more of Emmett and Tai from Unguarded, and I loved Jasper's best friend Devon.
I adore this series, and I want them to keep on coming forever.

I was very intrigued by the premise of The Beautiful Fall, and Robbie's life was something I wanted to know more about.
And whilst I liked the story, I did find that it was at times slow and dragged a bit in the middle.
Robbie, who I could understand why he was shut off from the world the way he was, just came across as a bit too robotic for me. I wanted him to feel more emotion than came across.
And domino obsession - yeah, I had a lot of trouble getting what that was all about.
I did like that as things were learned about Julie and more of his past, Robbie did come to life a bit, but for me it was a case of too little, too late.
It was like watching Groundhog Day and Fifty First Dates, but without the emotion these movies capture. It was too dry and clinical to really draw this reader in. The philosophy background of the author really comes through in the story.
But this is just my opinion, and others might really love all this.

I haven't read this since I was a kid.... and I forgot what strong drugs Lewis Carroll must have been on when he was writing these stories hahagh

Annnd now we are back in Shipley-land, an my favourite fictional coffee shop (though I am only here for the baked goods - and I amputting on a kg or two just reading about the goodies!)
I did feel that Gigi's story did come on a bit thick and fast with how easily and quickly she got set up in town, but this is probably just a me thing, and it didn't feel that way as the book progressed
Holden is all grumpy and sexy and I want one of him in my life.
I adored Gigi's persistance and steadfastness in becoming the new and improved Gigi. I can't imagine what she was going through, but I could applaud her moving on.
I did spend the most part of the book waiting for the other shoe to drop. I knew it was going to happen, I knew how Holden was going to react, but it sure didn't happen all the way that I was expecting.
I did also love the classic literary character names used...you will know them when you see them
I need to add Vermont to my next USA visit, and hope that I an have at least one of these experiences!
Bring on the next Busy Bean book!

Almost heaven, West Virginia....
I couldn't help but be singing "Take Me Home Country Roads" the whole time I was reading this installment.
Sean was just the most adorable thing, with all his gay life questions. He made me laugh out loud more than once,
Cooper is beautiful and lovely and not quite broken, but definitely a little bent.
And when they meet, you can feel the sparks fly, and as much as they are so different, they are so perfect for each other. They made me smile hard.
Though these books can all be read as stand alones, this one did have a bigger connection to earlier books than others. You won't miss much if this is the only book in the series, but if you have read other ones you will like seeing these guys again.
This series just makes me want to travel to Vermont (*shakes fist at COVID stopping international travel*)
I could read these WoTN books forever,

DNF during episode one.
I feel that this could have been a pretty good tale, but the overacting/reenactments were just too much.

Woot woot! Happy dance! A new Kylie Scott book is out in the world.
And I am loving the wet tshirt contest competitor on the cover (sorry for objectifying, but he is lovely!)
I love a fake romance. I love reading along as our lovelies pretend there aren't feelings. That this is all just a ruse. We're friends but that is all it will ever be.
I loved Norah jumping right into the deep end with Paddy. I felt for Paddy that he was taking all the blame for things that happened that lead to the fake relationship.
It did seem that we did just jump right into things - but that isn't a bad thing, I get tired of stories that waffle on before they get down to the nitty gritty.
I also love the secondary characters, especially Mei - I neeeeeed her to get a story.
I am looking forward to more in the West Hollywood series (and now I want to go back to WeHo, I had a great time there!)

I have been enjoying the Zodiac series by Runow and Colette, and whilst I liked Bastard Bartender, I found this one to be my least favourite.
Whilst as much as I love a good friends to lovers story, I just didn't feel it with Nic and Evette.
Her "by the alphabet" way of looking for a guy was OK - even if she couldn't look past her nose to wee what was in front of her - but Nic's selfishness is what got to me most of all.
I didn't really feel the romantic connection between then, and I think that to me they probably would have been better staying as friends, or FWB.
I just wanted to slap some sense into Nic most of the time. I get why he wants to live life to the fullest, but his stubbornness and selfishness when he was involved with Evette annoyed me.
Ugh, but these things are probably just me.
So, whilst I didn't love this installment, I look forward to more of the Zodiac series in the future.
