Firstly, let me say that I am not usually one to really look at covers, but hot damn, do I LOVE this cover! I licked it, it's mine!

Channing and Amber (ugh, such stripper names!) have a lovely second chance-ish story going on and I couldn't help but want them to finally pull their finger out.

It did take me a while to feel the connection between them though I eventually did. They did feel more like acquaintances than potential lovers. But that might just be me.

If you have read any of Ms Ward's previous works, you will probably remember that there is this "thing" that always happens in her books... reading along and BAM there it was again!

I am not sure what it is about Gentleman Nine, but there was just some of the usual oomph missing for me. Don't get me wrong, I liked it but it was just lacking something. Again, this is probably just me.

So whilst this wasn't a favourite Penelope Ward book for me, it may be just your cup of tea.

Can't wait to see what she brings us next.

It has been a while since I have picked up a Temperance Brennan book, however I found myself able to pick right back up where I had left off.

I love the procedural side of The Bone Code, the past combining with the present cases. I love Tempe's perseverance in cracking the case - even 15 years down the track.

I am also still shipping Tempe and Andy Ryan's romance all these years down the track.

And I did like that that book is set in 2021, and that it does deal with COVID-19 and the post pandemic state of the world.

However, the thing that didn't sit quite right with me was the bacterium threat storyline - not that that is something that couldn't happen, but that the author chose to use a vaccine as the way to spread said bacterium. In this day when people are still on the fence about getting the COVID-19 vaccine, this just felt tone deaf and that the author did not read the room on that one.

One other thing that caught me was some of the conversations with another major character in this book, a police officer. I even said to myself "Oh heck no, she did not just ask that?!?!?" It was quite cringeworthy.

So whilst overall I enjoyed The Bone Code, there were a couple of things that were just a bit hinky to this reader.

I do look forward to more Brennan books in the future.

I know it says Book #2 up there, but this is a standalone book in a connected series by different authors, so you don't need to have read any others to enjoy Perfect Song.

Nobody wants to think that what they need in their life is to head home to the small town the couldn't wait to escape - but sometimes heading home is the best thing for you, body and soul

And this is Justine's life. I know the small town vibe can feel a little smothering (believe me, I did the tree change from the city to a small country town, and everyone knows alllll your business - usually before you do!).

But it is also like a warm hug from all your loved ones, all at the same time.

Tucker and Justine's story is all kinds of love and adorableness. Tucker is all man and all kinds of swoonworthy. He is passion, loyalty and love all wrapped up in one sexy package.

Though I did get frustrated with him at one time, but could also understand his whys.

I loved that Justine didn't buy into all the small town gossip and prejudices.Small towns come with a lot of small minds in my experience.

I adored Tucker's son, and Justine's friends are the kind we all need in our lives.

I enjoyed my visit to Mason Creek, and I will have to check out more of the books in this world.

Oooooh puppers! Alanna Martin had me at the cover lol

And the puppers inside the book are just as amazing and adorable as I wanted them to be.

I liked Josh and Taylor - a lot - but sheesh did I hate just about every one else in this book.

The Hatfield and McCoy/Capulet and Montague BS that the two families carry on with just made me so mad, so sad for our lovelies. These people should all be ashamed at themselves for acting like two year olds throwing a tantrum, over something that none of them was even around for *rant over* This drew me out of the love story, as all I wanted to to was smack people over the head with my kindle hahah

I hated how much the immaturity affected our lovelies who did nothing wrong but to fall in love.

Ms Martin uses such beautiful imagery, that I could imagine myself in Alaska, walking these dogs.

so whilst I didn't love Heart On A Leash for the above reasons, I did enjoy it for the most part, and I am looking forward to more in this series in the future.

Yes! Jason's story is finally here, and the Consequences gang are all back together!

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the one who broke Jason's heart coming back. I was conflicted. I love a good second chance romance, but I hated what she did to him back in the day.

I shouldn't have worried, Ms Van Dyken brought things full circle with The Consequence of Rejection.

I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more. My heart hurt for Jason as he tries to find his way back to his love, and she frustrated me so much, the way she left him but expected him to just forget things. She still felt a little juvenile at times, but I guess that is because of the trip down memory lane.

My main man Max is back big time in story. Oh boy, he had me in stitches though I could completely understand how he could be annoying to those around him! When he, Colt, Reid and Jason are all together - well, you never know what is going to happen next!

And you never know what the consequences will be when you reconnect with your long lost love.

Thank you Ms Van Dyken for another wonderful new book.

I can't wait to see what comes next.

Woohoo, more Ella Frank hotness.

This is a spin off of both the Prime Time and the Temptation series, however you can dive right in here without any issues.

I have been intrigued by Marcus St James since the Prime Time series, and wow was this an adorable and enjoyable book.

Gabe was just the cutest thing ever. He gave me vibes of our Princess Robbie Bianchi right through my read - and Robbie is one of my favourite Ella characters.

I loved how we get more of my all time favourite Ella men, Logan Mitchell - though things could have gone a lot of different ways with this part of the story lol.

I am not always a fan of the age gap romance, and there is a pretty big gap here. However it doesn't really come into affect that much, as they characters are so endearing and lovable I didn't even notice the difference, unless one of the guys brought it up.

Talking of up.... oooh eeee this book was sexy and hot and just scrumptious!

We are left on a cliffy, but we don't have too long to wait until book two, Good Intentions hits our readers, so do yourself a favour and dive right in to Bad Intentions.

Until then, the guys send their love.

I need more Vermonty, cidery sexiness, STAT!

I am obsessed with this book!

From the second I picked it up I was completely and utterly in love.

Tai and Emmett were so perfect for each other, and the banter and flirting between them kept me in utter joy.

Though there were some parts that were not always pleasant to read, I just knew that they were going to make it through, and it filled my heart

Oy! Insatiable is not really the word I would use for our guy Logan.

I think the correct Aussie words for him would be root rat!

He didn't make the best first impression, and then the bet thing came into it, and I knew it would cause a lot of unnecessary drama.

However, Logan turned things around, and then I couldn't wait for he and Brody to get their HEA.

Oh Brody, how I adored you. I wanted to stab people wit my pen as I was reading - you know who you are, character! - and the way he was treated broke my heart.

But never fear! Of course the good guy wins, and I loved the way he got his comeuppance!

I also loved the changes in our Logan - see, you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Now I want something maple - don't care what it is, I want it all!

Kat and Dogg! Who could not love that?

Adorable vet and cute as a button photographer get together to raise money for animals, and sexiness ensues.

And it has mad me want another dog!

Love the small town vibe of the tale, even though living it IRL is not so much fun, when everyone knows your business.

Loved seeing the characters from Resolution Revolution again, and really need some of Hayden's brothers to get their books.
