I am a sucker for true crime kinds of stories. Add in a dog and I am putty in their hands.
I remember seeing the news story of Luke Warburton's shooting. I don't watch much news any more, but hearing Nepean Hospital in the news story made my ears prick up, as my mum worked their for many years and it always catches my attention.
This book - man, it is a heck of an emotional ride.
Luke tells his story of becoming a police officer, of becoming a dog handler, and of that night with humour, with emotion and with a turn of phrase that brings you right into the story with Luke and his K9s. Though written with journalist Simon Bouda, you can tell that this is Luke's voice shining through.
It was a wonderful insight into the world of the NSW Dog Unit, the animals, the handler and the connection between man and beast.
I have already recommended this book to a few of my friends, and I hope they enjoy it as much as I did.

I found this book as I was helping a friend clean out their spare room. I had this book aboit 30 years ago, so of course i had to read it.
Oh my, how pure these stories were hahaha.
My tastes have definitely matured- and gotten a hell of a lot dirtier!
A real blast from the past

This is the second Heart of a Hero story, and can be read totally as a stand alone.
I like Greer and Emmett's story a lot more than the first story (not that I didn't like the first book, just this one better).
This book shows that you that heroes come in every shape and form. Emmett is the quintessential military hero - though he does not see himself that way.
Greer does not think she is any kind of hero, she is just doing what she has to do.
But what neither of them know is that they are a hero of sorts to someone else. Heck, who knows, each of us may be a hero in somebody's life and not know it - though I do feel that the word hero is bandied around too freely at times.
I loved seeing the growth in all the main characters as the story progresses. Greer and Emmett find love when it is least expected, Ally finds growth through her therapy and friendships.
This book has so much hope, getting everyone through the despair they are feeling in their lives.
Wonderful, uplifting story, and I am looking forward to more in this series from Laura Trentham.

Welcome to another installment of the Jameson Force series.
This is a fast paced, dangerous and sexy story set in the underworld of heists and illegal doings.
Saint and Sin -the ones that got away - are reunited for one last shebang, and sparks sure do fly. I couldn't wait to flick each page to see where Ms Bennett would take the story.
It was like reading a heist movie, and as I was reading, I was imagining it on a screen.
There were also some sadder moments, that I am hopeful we will get more of the story in the future.
An enjoyable read, and I can't wait for the next installment.

This book was all kinds of adorable.
"Spinster" Sara (pssshhh what would they call me then) and Gabe are not a couple that you would really expect to come together, but they do and it works.
I liked that they communicated via emails for a chunk of the time - much more cute and romantic than just text message to me.
My heart hurt for Sara - she is having a bit of a pity party, and I wanted her to stand up to those making her feel that way - and the fact that is was her family that treated her like Cinderella made me mad, mad, mad!
I was laughing out loud at times, as the first half especially was full of humour. I found the second half more emotional and deeper
It takes a look at modern relationships, familial relationships and the growth of both Sara and Gabe as the story progressed.
I would like to see more of the secondary characters in this story, particularly Jason and Chloe.
I wonderful read that I enjoyed in an afternoon.

Interesting look at some of Australia's most enduring and unsolved.
I am sure in the time since this book released there has been some more insights and investigations into some of the more recent cases discussed.
It covers a wide range of subjects, and kept me interested as I read.

I have had this book sitting on my reader since it first came out - nearly 5 years ago! - and I never picked it up to read it. Seeing the final book in the trilogy come out made me pick it up.
And what the hell took me so long to pick it up??
Ky and Madison's story had me engrossed from the minute I picked it up.
It focuses mostly on Ky in this installment, set in the present with some flashbacks to his past
My heart hurt for him as we learn how he came to be the man he is today.
We also meet Mr Nate Deluca, and spent the entire time reading, now sure whether I liked or loathed the man (and I love that in my stories!)
And then BAM - we were cliffied with something I really, really did not see coming.
Thankfully I could move right onto book 2, Redemptive
