It is always a good day when a new Kim Karr story turns up on your kindle.
It has been ages since I have delved into the world of the royal families of the Vespa Isles, so I have completely forgotten most of everything that has happened - though I did remember the gambling storyline that has followed through all the stories so far.
Liz and Spencer are royal kids of these families, and now they are paying for their family's sins/failures. Gah, that made me mad. These people - especiallly Liz's mum and dad are just horrib.e, and I wanted to scream at them, or push them off their yacht. This is the 21st century, not the middle ages hahah
I do adore Liz and Spencer though - theirs has been a complicated relationship over the years, and watching them duke it out to get to where they are at the end of the book is enjoyable.
This was a light, fun and quite short read. I smiled, I shed a tear or two and really liked reading it.
I am now looking forward to book 4 -the story of Liz's ex.

Block Shot is only my second Kennedy Ryan read (I know, I know - I am so far behind the times) and once again I am blown away with this book.'
I am a sucker for a friends to lovers, second chance romance, and Block Shot had all the feels.
This isn't just a fun, happy go lucky story. Ms Ryan doesn't shy away from the harder, darker topics. And she does them well. Extremely well.
Block Shot is real, it is raw, it had me running the whole gamut of emotions as I laughed, I cried, I threw my kindle across the room in anger and frustration.
Jared and Banner's relationship has never been smooth sailing, and with each twist and turn their lives took, my heart needed to find out what was happening in their lives.
I so want to be Banner when I grow up. She is the whole kit and kaboodle. She is strong, she is compassionate, her insecurities fly off the page and there is some of her in each and every one of us. I just adore every single thing about her.
Jared is frustrating, oh so frustrating. But you can't help but like him - even when he is a douche! You have to admire a man (or woman) who knows what they want and don't give up on it.
I really enjoyed getting to know a bit more of August and Iris and Sarai from Long Shot too in this story.
Even though this is only my second KR read, she has become an instant one-click author for me.
I am really looking forward to the next book in the Hoops Series, Hook Shot. I also need to go back and get my hands on every other book she has written!
Give me more!

I am only new to Kennedy Ryan's books, and the Hoops series are the only ones I have read (so far), and I am impatiently waiting the third book, so this holiday novella was just the thing to tide me over.
I adored Avery and Deck's story. I am in an bit of end of year blogger burnout, so I am starting to struggle a little with my reading, however I couldn't wait to start Hoops Holiday, didn't want to put it down, and didn't want it to end.
I am a sucker for a second chance story, and this sweet and sexy one had me smiling the whole time. Snark, witty banter, steamy. Fate plays it's part in this story too.
I really adored this story, and I think I need to go back and read it again already.
Bring on Hook Shot!

This was my first Meghan Quinn story, and it was light, fun and flirty. After reading a few emotionally draining stories lately, this was just the antidote.
I did kind of guess where the story would end about half way through, however finding out how it got there was cute.
I did enjoy the other 2 guys, and look forward to their stories

Sigh.. it is always a great day when a new Melissa Foster story turns up on my Kindle.
This is Love is the second installment in the Harmoney Point series, and whilst it could be read alone, why would you want to miss any of the goodness?
Now, I won't lie, as I was starting this story, I was trying to put the family tree together in my head, as so many of Ms Foster's stories do weave together these days, however I gave up and just got right to the nitty gritty of the story.
Our leading lady is DIVINE, and our main man is all kinds of hot, alpha-ey bodyguardness.
In fact, I was expecting someone to burst in song with "I Will Always Love You", and I was getting all kinds of Bodyguard vibes from this story.
Fun, flirty with a bit of mystery and a twist or two, this was a great way to send my weekend.

This was my first Alexa Martin read, so even though i have not read the previous books, I did not feel that I was missing too much.
Now, what can I say about this book? Hmmm, I was really looking forward to it and was excited to read it, however it fell flat. I didn't really feel any chemistry between Brynn and Maxwell, and I felt myself wanting to skip ahead as it just plodded along. I was waiting for something to happen.
I liked Maxwell, however I didn't really find myself liking Brynn much at all. She tries to come across as a big, strong, feminista of a woman, but she doesn't pull it off. I am all for girl power, however this just.. wasn't.
What I did like was the bonds between the Lady Mustangs, the way they have each other's backs and the way they are always there for each other.
This was a a miss, but i will go back and read the first books eventually.

I am kind of in love with all these cartoon-type covers that are about lately. Don't know what it is, but they suck me in every single time.
I liked the sound of Would Like To Meet right from the start, because our leading lady Evie seems like a real cynical kinds of gal - and me likes that! I like that yes, she is the typical overworked, underpaid assistant that really does all the hard work. But there is an awareness about Evie that she can see this, and she will -eventually - grab life by the balls and do something. It is like if she was in one of her rom-com meet cutes, she would talk to the camera about the stuff that is happening.
I did laugh, I did cringe, and I did smile at the meet-cutes Evie does on the way to helping the self-centred writer and her (a-hole) of a boss get what they want.
We have a hen's night, a wedding, the group of BFFs who will never let her down - all the expected of a rom-com. Oh, and the cute child that will just steal the heroine's heart - though I was surprised at how old they turned out to be, as I had her pegged as at least double her age lol
And we the reader knew exactly who our lovely lady was going to end up with, but it was the road getting there that was fun.
The story is totally implausable, but that didn't bother me. Would Love To Meet is just a whole lot of fun. It was just the perfect read for me as I was on my sick bed for a couple of days.
Wonderful, fun and easy to read debut novel. A great summer (or winter) read.

This one was definitely a case of it is not the book, it was me.
Just not in the right headspace to finish this one at this time.
