I picked this one up on recommendation from The Scarlet Siren - that woman is trying to send me broke.
This was a bit out of the box for me, however I really did enjoy it.
I wasn't really sure what to expect as I dived in pretty blind - plus, a Joel Leslie narration is an auto buy for me.
Magicians, magical beings, historical - this book had a bit of it all, and it was a pleasant change from my usual listening.
I hope we get more in this series, as I feel there is so much more for us to learn.
This was my first Lee Welch story, and I will listen to more in the future.

Firstly, check out the hot hot hot cover - I am not usually one to even bother looking at covers, however he is so pretty, that I can't not look at him when he turns up on a book cover....
Oh, sorry, I got a little bit distracted there!
Ms Blakely has given us another sweet, sexy, lusty small town story.
Now, I have not yet read Best Laid Plans (so many books, so little time) however this did not make me like this book any less - and has made me move BLP up my reading list.
There is so much spark between Derek and Perri, that you just knew that things were going to be hot hot hot between then. I mean, you can't blame the girl for lusting over the tattooed hottie!
This is a light, but passionate story - and just the break I needed from the heartbreaking stories I have been reading lately. I love that there is no stupid miscommunications between our lovelies, and no drama just for drama's sake.
I love stories set in a small town, where it is like Cheers - everybody knows your name (and your business) - even though it is not so much fun when you live the small town life like I do hehehe.
It was great to watch Perri and Derek fight their feelings, even though everyone could see their attraction, and knew they would be great together before they even knew.
This story has left me smiling, and now I can't wait for Shaw and Vanessa's story.

I love a second chance story.
I love everything related to the Starkiverse.
I adore Eliza and Quincy.
Full of action, suspense and oh so much sexual tension, Shattered With You had me hooked from the start.
I did feel though, that the end was a little rushed, and with all the build up I was expecting a bang at the end, and it felt more like a whimper. However that could just be me.
I loved seeing bits of the Stark men and their ladies.
I felt that this was a good and interesting start to the Stark Security spin off, and I am looking forward to what comes next.

First of all, how great is this cover? I am love, love, loving the sepia look, and it really sticks out on my Kindle and Kindle app as I am scrolling through.
Flicking through my goodreads, I can see that I have missed reading a couple of the Walkers of Coyote Ridge books - they are sitting on my kindle but somehow I have forgotten to read them (so many books, so little time it seems).
It was great to dive back into this series with Rex (and it has made me impatient to go back and read the rest).
I was in tears just reading the first couple of chapters - my god, that prologue 😭
Rex and Jack's story really is a slow burn of a story. Sure, there is that instant attraction, however it took a while - especially with Jack - for them to make a go of things.
I mean,I know we were warned about Jack's tendency to run, but gees Louise, that boy would win a gold medal at the run-from-your-issues Olympics! I knew to expect it, and it still frustrated me! I mah have mentally clipped him around the ears a la Gibbs and Dinozzo style on more than one occasion. And I definitely did yell at him more than once.
I couldn't help but adore Rex right from the get go, and my heart hurt for him as he wondered about people in his life.
I loved the familial bonds and support amongst the Walkers and all their cousin, uncles, former room mates lol etc. Family is always a big thing in Nicole Edwards stories, and it always, and I mean always makes me wish I had a large family, with cousins for days.
I loved seeing those Walker brothers, whom I haven't spent any time with in a long while That Travis sure is something, right?
I can't wait to dive into more inhabitants of Coyote Ridge.

Every time I pick up a Kennedy Ryan book, I shout from the rooftops, "OMG this is the best KR book ever!"
And here I am again, shouting from the rooftops.
I was intrigued about Kenan and Lotus after seeing snippets of them in Jared and Banner's book, however this was so much more than I could have ever have expected.
Hook Shot is completely heartwrenching, yet completely full of hope. My heart didn't know if it wanted to break or swell with joy, flip flopping between one and the other as I turned each page.
The connection between our lovelies is undeniable. Right from the get go this leaped off the pages, and they wormed their way into each others hearts.
It was wonderful to see more of August and Iris - my first Kennedy Ryan loves. In fact, I think she needs to write me a short story about them every month for the rest of time 😁
I don't have enough words for how much I adored this book.
Now I am impatiently waiting for what Kennedy Ryan brings us next.

Kim Congram has knocked it out of the park with Rough Code.
It has been a little while since she released On Edge, however I dived right back into the Rough Edges series, and didn't want to leave.
Ms Congram has given us another kick-ass woman who won't take things sitting down. She fights her demons like the bad ass mofo we all wish we could be, and I may or may not have cheered out loud and fist pumped as the story progressed.
However, our leading lady Evie is not all sh!t kicking - my heart hurt for her at times as we learn more of her background.
And then there is Luc - well helloooooooo sir! Can't blame a girl for falling for a man like him!
I was so enthralled that I may have snuck in a few chapters whilst I was at work (don't tell my boss) as I didn't want to put it down, I needed to know what happened next, I needed to be there as Evie fought the good fight.
Gah, I just don't know what to say to do this book justice.
Do yourself a favour (the Aussie reading this are saying this in Molly's voice, I bet) and pick up On Edge and Rough Code - you won't regret it.

It's only treason if you lose
All The King's Horses was a rollercoaster of a ride from the first words to the last.
Colonel Emma Adira is a bad arse mofo with a heart of gold - I want to be like her when I grow up (without all the war and death and stuff though, cos I would be too much of a wuss for all that!). For someone so amazing at her job, she did come across a little bit naive at times, however I think that makes it her more human, not some military robot.
Royalty, politics, coups - all wrapped up in one story!
Ms Congram kept me on the edge the whole time I was reading. Now I am impatiently waiting to see where book 2 - All The Queen's Men - takes us.

I was only a small child when all of this happened, but it is something that has been in news over the years, especially with regards to the unsolved Wanda Beach murders.
This book is completely fascinating, yet completely horrifying in that a man, doing what he was doing, got away with it so many times. So many time he was within the grasp of police, and so many times he walked away to do it again.
I would like to think that in this day and age, with social media and insta-everything that this would not happen again, although we know it still does.
Mr McNab had me intrigued and engrossed in this story right away. I know someone who knew one of the girls who was murdered at Wanda Beach, and thy have mentioned on more than one occasion Christopher Wilder and how he got away with it.
Being that Mr McNab is a former police detective, the writing can sometimes come across quite dry, however that didn't bother me. I was so interested in the story itself.
I closed this book, thinking of those who survived, heart hurting for the family of those who were never found.
I am now keen to continue my true crime binge.

Shatterered Love destroyed me. Oh my goodness it was a heartbreaking tale.
I knew what to expect diving in to Healing Love, and yet it still hurt my heart to read it.
Bria is finally on the mend, but physically and emotionally, however her past keeps coming back to worm it's way back into her life.
Damien.. sigh. Yes, he was a d!ck to Bria, however he is trying to make amends for it.
There are great secondary characters that I couldn't help but adore. There are some that I want to poke in the eye with a fork every time they are on the page lol.
I an looking forward to the 3rd book in the Forever Us series, hoping that Bria and Damien find their way to a HEA.
I am now impatiently awaiting Endless Love
