I have enjoyed all the books in the Indianapolis Eagles series, and after Reese and Austin met in the previous book, I have been looking forward to seeing where their story takes them.

This is book 5 in the Indianapolis Eagles series, and whilst they could be read as standalones, you will be missing some of the nuances and complexities of the relationships of the relationships - besides, who wouldn't want to read more hockey hotties?

What I like about this - and the previous books in this series - is that there is no unnecessary, OTT drama. No puck bunnies swooping in to cause trouble. No stupid miscommnications tearing our lovelies apart just for the sake of tearing them apart. Sure, the couples have their problems, however they are all dealt with like the adults they are.

Against The Boards has our lovelies separated by distance for a lot of the story, however you can feel the pull of attraction between then, even across oceans. There is so much that could go wrong whilst they are apart, but they don't let it.

There are some darker issues dealt with in this story, and it was great seeing them go through them together.

This book just left me with a big smile on my face, and left me wanting more. I loved getting more of the Eagles from the previous books and where their lives are at (though the stories do overlap a bit)

I hope we get more of this series in the future.

I am on a bit of a historical, and and particular a Highlander binge at the moment, so as soon as The Prodigal Laird crossed my emails, I went and downloaded it right away.

This is my first Vanda Vadas story, and was pleasantly surprised to find out she was a fellow Australian.

I liked the detail that the author has gone into regarding Culloden, the Jacobite uprising and the aftermath of both.

Roderick MacLeod is one of those characters that could fall into the I love him or the I hate him crowd at times. I for one loved this surly man. I could understand his anger, his hurt, his reluctance to do what everyone expects him to.

And I adored Annabell and her willful attitude. You just know that she is going to rock all of Roderick's beliefs and expectation.

The story did drag a little bit in the middle, however I was fully involved in this story so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. And then when things took off again, wowsers!

This was my first Vanda Vadas story, and it won't be my last. Now I am off to find some more Highlanders to devour.

You know what I really like about Max Monroe books? I like that we don't get cookie cutter books, or series after series that is all the same. We have had hilarious billionaires, murder/mystery type books.

And now we have The Girl In The Painting.

You can't help but instantly adore Ansel and Indy.

Ansel is not your typical sexy, broody artist, and his story is not the regular, run of the mill story.

I will say that I did pick up pretty quickly something that was a major part of the story-to-be, however that did not take away any of the enjoyment.

I am not artist, and couldn't play an instrument if my life depended on it, however I love art and music. I liked both aspect of this in this story.

A beautiful yet heartbreaking story, The Girl In The Painting will leave you breathless and full of hope and love.

I can't wait to see what this pair brings use next.

As I started listening to this story, I was thinking "ummm, is this something I should be listening to? Is it wrong of me?"

I mean, is it wrong to have emotions about a fictional android?

However, the further I got into the story, the less I thought of SHAUN as an android and he became more and more of a wonderful man that I couldn't help but adore.

I mean, a walking, talking sex toy was not something I thought I would enjoy reading about.

However as Shaun "evolved" it was easy to forget he was circuit boards and silicon.

This story did at times make me wonder if we as humans are starting to take things a little far? Technology is wonderful and there are so many things that we could do with it, but should we?

It just goes to show that NR Walker can write about anything and I will read it and love it!

Great narration by Joel Leslie, who has fast become a favourite.

Brooke and Ella - you had me at rockstars.

Remember Trent from Brooke's book "A Little Bit Like Desire"? It is OK if you haven't, but if you have, you will remember his band TBD

Well, this is TBD's story after the end of that book, and their search for a new singer.

And oh, what a story it is.

Halo comes along and sets TBD's world on a new tangent - and sets lead guitarist Viper's heart aflutter. And the pair of them set my heart aflutter too.

There is so must UST between Viper and Halo that you can practically see steam rising from the pages of the book.

I love that this isn't all easy for Viper and Halo - I mean, it's not easy to tempt the straight guy, right?

I also liked that there is plenty of rock star stuff going on, it is not just flitting around a new relationship.

I love the interaction with Viper's band mates. And I am calling it now - I want the stories of the other guys after this series ends.

Being a trilogy, I knew there was going to be a cliffy involved - however it isn't a bad one, and we only have a month to wait for part 2.

I can't wait to see where these lovely ladies take these lovely guys story.

You will need to have read Part 1 before you dive into part 2, as part 2 stars right where part 1 left off.

I admit, I have terrible bookzheimer's and I had forgotten some of the details of the first book (even though it was only out a few months ago) but I quickly picked up on them again as I began reading.

Camille/Pet has been through the wringer and I was not sure how she was going to cope with where she was at this time and place in the story.

What was got was dark, gritty and smacked of hope and rebellion. I loved her spark and the fight in her, wanting to find her way back to her "home".

Ares, oy I have to say that I got p!ssed at him at times, however I knew that he was the real Ares.

And just as I had hope that they might fight their happy, it was a case of "WTH Carmen?!?!"

Told in dual POV, I was on the edge of my seat, nervously turning each page, needing to know what would happen next.

We were cliffied, but it was expected. Now I am impatiently awaiting the 3rd book to see how things play out.

Please don't make me wait too long, Ms Jenner!

This is a full length dark romance, so different from what I have read from Ms Jenner lately.

It is hard to write this review and not be giving things away. I feel that this is one you really do need to dive into blind and experience for yourself.

I do love our "Pet". She is stronger than she thinks she is, even when she is in her situation. She does not submit easily, she questions everything. She also changes who she is, and makes Ares change in himself.

Ares... well, he is a god and a monster - and be prepared to be buying that ticket on the ride to hell, because as much as I hated the man, like Pet, I couldn't help but like the guy too. Such a confliction in my heart.

If you have not dipped your toes in the darker genre before, this may not be the book for you, as it is not always the easiest of subjects to read. However if you are willing to give it a go, you may be amazed at what you really do like in your books.

The ending is setting us up to want more - and I can't wait to see where Ms Jenner takes this series.

See that there ^^?

That was me as I read Cake - because, you know, you can't read a book called Cake without eating cake. It's a law or something.

Firstly, I love love love love LOVE this cover. I am not usually a big on paying attention to covers, but I adore this one more and more every time I look at it.

This book was everything. I laughed, I cried, I yelled at my kindle, I may or may have not wanted to climb into the book and nut punch someone - or someones!

Right from the start, Cake is silly, sexy, fun and I could not put it down. Poppy and Leo are all sorts of adorable. They say fighting if foreplay, and OMG this pair love to fight.

My heart hurt for Poppy throughout this book. I am telling you now, I would never be as understanding as she is with things. I would be ripping people's balls off and shoving them down their throats! But, maybe that is just me???

I freaking adored Leo "Nass The Ass". I am like Poppy - I didn't know whether I wanted to kill him or kiss him (well, you know that I really wanted to kiss him lol)

Gah, I know this isn't doing the book justice!

So buy it, Read it. Love it!

This book should come with a warning - take out shares in Stolichnaya Vodka and Kleenex before reading, as you are going to need both.

Carmen Jenner has absolutely wrecked me with this story. After the way book one, Revelry ended, I knew Levi's story was going to hurt, but no word of a lie, I spent the entire first 25% of Closer reading through ugly snot crying tears. I swear, I was an absolute mess!

And just when I think things have calmed down and I am right to go again, she does this to me

A day later and my heart still hasn't recovered. This book started as one big, beautiful disaster and I didn't know if we were going to recover from it.

I hate to say it though, I really kinda hated Coop and Ali for a lot of this book. Yes, I know they fell in love blah blah but man, like Levi, I wanted to punch them.

I am tearing up again just thinking about Levi as I write this review. Gah, Ms Jenner, what have you done to me!

I gotta say, I loved the angry French cellist. I love how she takes not sh!t from Levi, gives him hell, yet can't help but adore him too. I don't want to give much away about Levi and Briele's story, as I feel that it is one that you have to absorb as you are reading, but you will love it.

This story sure did take a few twists and turns that I was not expecting - and again had me bawling.

And I loved every second of it. I am a fan of angsty, rip your heart out stories, and this was one of the best I have read.

I ran the whole gamut of emotions whilst reading Closer. I laughed, I cried (oh how I cried), I got p!ssed of. And I loved. Love this so so much.

I am going to miss the Taint family, however I am looking forward to what Ms Jenner brings us next.
