I would pick up the phone book if Samantha Young wrote it, and even though I am not a big fan of YA (I am an old fart, they often feel wwaaaaaayy too young for me), I completely adored Play On.
I am not going to lie, I did struggle getting into the first 20% of the book. I can't pinpoint exactly what it was, but I did.
Once we got past that, I was completely and utterly hooked. Nora's story is not always an easy one. I liked her from the start, and as the story continued, I couldn't help but love her
And then there is Aidan. He made me all kinds of swoony - when he wasn't ticking me off!
I couldn't help but need this pair to make a real go of things. It just had to happen, I wouldn't have it any other way!
Play On had a bit of everything. I laughed, I cried, I got so so angry at times and yelled at my kindle. But most of all I hoped and I loved.
There are some fantastic secondary characters whom I hope to see more of in the future.
Can't wait for book 2 (at this stage untitled and no idea when it will be released)
Bring it on! Now I need to go to Edinburgh and find my own sexy Scotsman!

You will need to have read Checkmate: This is Dangerous prior to reading This is Beautiful, as things start up right where Dangerous ended.
I am not going to lie, I have terrible bookzheimer's so I did go back and read the last chapter of Dangerous before starting this one, and I am glad I did as I had forgotten where the first book ended.
And when I started Beautiful,I was thrown right back into Logan-Land and didn't want to leave.
Our lovelies story is not always rainbows and butterflies. I don't want to give anything away, but let me tell you, all the feels! It is raw, emotional, I wanted to laugh, I wanted to cry. I wanted to hit one particular character over the head with my Kindle - if you have read the first in the duet you will know which one I am talking about.
I adore both Logan and Kayla - can't help it, they're just both so likable!
And I may again be having cravings for doughnuts!
I LOVE that we got more of the guys and gals from the earlier duets in the Checkmate series. It is fun to see where they are all at as the series progressed.
It is always bittersweet when a series comes to an end, however I have adored every minute I have spent reading the Checkmate books.
Now I am impatiently awaiting this duos next series, coming early next year.

PSSSST - how hot is this cover?!?!
I have adored everything I have read by Vi Keeland so far, so it is always a happy day when a new book turns up on my kindle.
I loved the way Caine and Rachel meet - wrong guy, wrong place kind of thing. From there on I loved the slow build between our lovelies.
I am a bit of a sucker for the teacher/student trope - though that is not exactly what this book is. It is so much more than that.
Sure, there is plenty of zap and spark between them, but they don't jump right into bed. There is enough going on between them that they don't need that step - yet.
But when they go there - oh my! Caine can talk dirty to me any time, any day! Aaaaaand now I have that Poison song running through my head.
I did get a bit frustrated with Caine at times, with his "come here, come here. No go away" thing he had going on. I could kinda understand why but gees Louise!
But I guess the road to a happy ending is never an easy one, and he sure did make the most of a rough path.
There are some fantastic secondary characters. I adore Rachel's boss Charlie.
Sweet, sexy and sometimes sad, Beautiful Mistake has the right mixture to keep me reading the whole thing in one session.
Now can't wait to see what Ms Keeland bring us next.

Woohoo another Ward/Keeland collaboration has hit my Kindle! They are one of the duos whom I would read if they wrote a chinese takeaway menu together.
And as with the previous books from this duo, we are in for a fun ride.
And I was "hooked" right from the start.
Bridget and Simon's story is sweet and cute and adorable and funny. Some of the things that come out of Simon's mouth had me laughing out loud.
Bridget is a kind of wonder woman. Single mum, working full time, selfless in so many ways.
From them moment they met (which had me snorting) I couldn't help but want them together. There was just something about them that made me need them getting hot and heavy! The UST is off the charts with this pair!
If you have read any of these ladies previous collaborations, you will know that there is always a big da da duuuuum WTH moment. I knew this going in, I was expecting it, I thought I knew what it was going to be.
But damn, ladies! I wasn't expecting that!!!
Dear Bridget, I Want You has a bit of everything, and I am now impatiently waiting to see what they bring us next!

Fiona Palmer is a new to me author, and I have been on a bit of an Aussie author binge lately. It was also nice to jump into a contemporary romance for a change (not going to lie, a lot of my reading is a LOT more steamy than women's lit!)
We all have secrets (anyone who says they don't is a liar!), and I was curious to see how these secrets would play out amongst such a close knit group of friend.
It did take me a little while to get into the story (I put the book aside for a few days after I started it) however once I picked it up again I read it all in one night.
Our main characters are such different ladies, this might be the reason why I didn't connect with them all. I did connect with Jess and Abbie, but I struggled with Ricki. Not 100% sure why, but it was that way.
Secrets With Friends will take you on an emotional journey as secrets are revealed and our lovelies deal with the fall out.
This was my first Fiona Palmer read, and I am sure I will be reading more in the future.

That cover - I licked it, he's mine!
I love everything I have read by Penelope Ward to date, and Mack Daddy is no exception.
This second chance at romance is a sweet, decadent read that I couldn't put down.
Mack and Frankie have history and I loved getting both the past and present times in their relationship. I laughed, I got angry, I had a lot of fun with our lovelies.
Not going to lie though, at times Mack frustrated the heck out of me. Seriously dude, where was your man card? I know he was in situations he didn't want to be in at times, but I just wanted to shake some sense into him to stop letting people walk all over him.
Grow a pair man! (But this could just be me)
But then he would do something so amazing and wonderful and it would make me forget it all.
So yeah, even though I wanted to bang both Mack and Frankie's heads together to get them to wake up to themselves at times, I loved them. Couldn't help but want to them to sort their sh!t out.
Mack Daddy is fun, sweet, sexy, just plain ridiculous at times, and I wouldn' t have had it any other way.
Can't wait to see what Ms Douglas brings us next.

The Baller is the first Vi Keeland book I have read - yes I know, I am way behind the times!
What a sweet, sexy and at times extremely emotional story The Baller is.
I loved Brody from the minute he dropped towel! Had a feeling there was more to him than a super-hot bad boy, and was there what!
Delilah is trying to make it in the mysogynistic boys club that is sports reporting. The last thing she wants is a relationship with Brody, having her professionalism called into doubt.
But man oh man, the spark between them is undeniable, and I loved the banter between them. The text messages, the looks across the locker room. Slowly but surely, they are on their way to a HEA.
The book is told in dual POV for most of the books, which I liked. However, just over half way through, another POV was introduced which I felt interrupted the flow of the book.
The character with the 3rd POV is an integral part of the story, however I don't think we needed their POV, I felt that we could have gotten their story through Brody and Delilah's POVs. But this could just be me, it might not bother you.
I laughed, I got angry, I got upset for our lovelies, and enjoyed the journey I was taken on. Brody and Delilah's story was complicated, funny and adorable. It dealt with some deeper things rather than just two people falling in love.
Now I need to go kick myself for not reading her earlier work.

Woohoo, time to head back to North Carolina and spend some time with the hockey hotties from the Cold Fury, this time we have Max's brother, Lucas.
If you are up to date with this series, you would have quickly met Luc before, but his full story is so much more than I expected.
I knew I was going to like Luc right from the get go. I mean, he is a Fournier and a Fury player, how could I not. He is all man's man, playing the field, getting it past the goalie whenever he can
Until he is knocked on his ar$e by a one night stand who becomes more.
Once Stephanie comes into the picture things really do change for him. I adore the way he is with her, however she drove me batty.
For about 95% of the book, I wanted smack some sense into her about once every 4 pages! She frustrated the heck out of me, and I may have screamed at my kindle for Luc to run run away, as fast as he could!
I loved seeing Lucas fight for it though.
We get plenty of glimpses of the guys an gals from the earlier books in the Cold Fury series, and was great to see where they are all at as the series progresses.
There is great set up for the next book in the series too, which will be Van's story (we just met him in Lucas so don't worry if that name doesn't ring any bells!)
Lucas is fun, flirty and frustrating all thrown into one story.
Can't wait for the next installment.

It has been a while since I have read a Kirsty Dallas book, but what a way to get back in there!
Stupid Love is a little bit paranormal, a little bit contemporary, and a whole lot of fun.
Grounded to the mortal realm, meet Bee Cupid (yes, of those cupid's). She is in for a dose of her own medicine when the gods (who are also her parents) tell her she has to fall in love to know how it feels.
I freaking adore Bee and her BFF Mac. They are quirky, and fun, mischief makers and masters of mayhem.
Enter their potential lovers, Austin and Walker. Talk about a couple of guys who would make even the hardest of hearts melt.
Kirsty Dallas had me hooked from the blurb. The story flowed, the characters jumped off the pages, I laughed out loud at times whilst reading.
Ms Dallas has a way with words, and she draws me in every single time.
Can't wait to see what she brings us next.
