Firstly, I want to say that I don't read may YA books these days. I am an old fart and sometimes they are just waaaaaay too young for me.
But a Margaret McHezyer YA is oe that I will always pick up and read.
Before you start, make sure you pick up some of these - you are going to need them
It is hard for me to write this review without spoiling anything, but the title alone should lead you to know it is going to hurt like a bitch to read.
Alice, Elijah and Becky's story (no cheating or threesomes, their stories are just intertwined) is a beautiful, but heartbreaking story of love and loss.
I messaged the author whilst I was reading this book, cursing her for the fact that my heart had been ripped out, torn to pieces and trodden on as I was reading. This is such an emotional book, if you don't shed at least one tear you must not have a heart! I am not a huge crier (sure I get tears) when reading, but this was an USC (ugly snot cry) book for me.
"What we'll have won't be epic Alice. It will be legendary."
I became emotionally invested in our lovelies. Their story gripped me like a vice around my heart, and I had to know what would happen to them all.
I did let Ms McHeyzer know that I would be sending her a bill for all the tissues I needed during my read.
I had to walk away on more than one occasion as the raw, gritty emotion got to me. But I couldn't stay away for long.
Buy this book. Read it. It is amazing.

Hockey hotties? ☑
Second chances? ☑
Action on and off the ice? ☑
The Aces Hockey series has become one of my auto-read series. I can't get enough of these hockey hotties and their lucky ladies.
Tanner and Katelyn's story had a bit of it all. Love, lust, longing.
Duel POVs give us a great insight to both our lovelies thoughts and feelings. The hurt, the longing, the wan that exudes from both Tanner an Katelyn has the reader longing along with them. I couldn't help but want, no need these lovelies to make their way back to each other, through all the obstacles of careers and coupledom
I loved getting more of the other Aces boys and their ladies. I love the bonds, the banter, the love between them all.
Now I need more. Please give us more Ms Jamieson, and don' make me wait too long :D

Firstly, how great is this cover. Sweet and cute and a bit sexy, right?
It is perfect for this novella, because what is behind this cover is exactly that - sweet, and cute, and a lot sexy.
Hank and Olive's story has a bit of it all. A bit of history, a bit of snark, a lot of UST - well, at least until it is all resolved! Then it is game on with the sexy times!
This is only a quick read, but it was just the thing to get that Christmas spirit to start kicking in.... and made me want cake... or slice... or something devilishly bad for me!
So time to get your ho ho ho's and jingle bells on and read Christmas Candy.

The Florentine Bridge should really be called A Love Letter To Tuscany.
Ms Carnevale's debut novel is a vivid, descriptive, beautiful story of love, life and taking chances.
The beautiful cover drew me in, the romance of the city and Mia and Luca's love kept me intrigued.
Whilst at times the pacing was a little jumpy - sometimes it was like speed racer and other times it was very slow - it all evened itself.
I got swept away with the imagery, placing myself in Mia's shoes, taking in the sights, sounds and tastes of Florence (and imagining a beautiful Italian man on my arms).
I did get frustrated at both Mia and Luca in the later parts of the books, I wanted to shake some sense in to both of them - particularly Mia. But I guess all of that comes with the territory of a 19 year old lady taking on the world (and me being an old fart!)
This was an evocative read, and I can't wait to see what Ms Carnevale brings us next.
Now, time to take like by the horns and live our dreams.

I haven't read Ms Connor previously, so I am coming in to the McKinney/Walkers late in the game. But this did not affect my reading of Worth The Wait.
I am a sucker for a second chance romance... thought this did seem a little light on the romance at times (but this could just be me)
I love Nick and Mia's story though. I loved that we got lots of their past (but maybe we lost too much of the here and now?) I adored Nick and baby Hannah - I mean, swoon, what girl wouldn't love that guy.
To me the ending made up for what I found lacking in the body of the book - again, the lacking could just be me and it won't bother anyone else.
I am looking forward to getting the other brother's stories.

We met Van Stenson in the previous book in the series, Kick - you don't have to have read it as there is enough background, but why would you want to miss all the rucking goodness?
In the aftermath of events in Kick, Van is licking his wounds a little, and just not his usual self. He's a little despondent really.
Danny is his best friend, and the girl he never thought he wanted - but once that idea is in his head, she is all he can think about.
I loved how Danny didn't fall into his bed like all the other "sports whores" have done in the past. I loved how she made him fight for her attention.
The chemistry between Van and Danny was palpable - whether is was love or hate, it was there. You could feel the emotions roll off Van as he comes to realise his feelings for Danny. Not just his current feelings, but in hindsight how he has felt in the past too.
After Kick, I kind of felt that Van deserved to be the way he is in the beginning of Ruck, but as the story unfolded I kind of adored him more and more.
Ruck is a quick story about not seeing what is right in front of your eyes. But for a quick read, is packed a hell of a punch.

Pax & Mila's story in If You Stay was a rollercoaster of emotions, and this new, continuation of their lives is one just as much.
My Peace is Pax's journey searching for just that... his peace. He has had such a sh!tty life for so long, now he is at a place that he is starting to be happy.
But his past has come back to haunt him, throwing him back in the dark place where his demons rule his mind.
This is a dark, raw, gritty story. As I turned each page, i never knew what I was going to be confronted with. My eyes may have leaked a couple of times as the story wound its way through all the twists and turns.
I wanted, no I needed things to work out for our lovelies.
And knowing more about the author's story with her son, and how it relates to Pax's story just made this story feel all the more real.
Thank you Ms Cole for bringing us more Pax and Mila, and letting your readers a little more into your life.
And remember, My Demons Do Not Control Me.

I have been on the Kimi Flores book journey since It All Started With A Lima Bean, and I impatiently await every new release.
Unexpected Promises is a great little novella, full of sweet, adorable characters who I couldn't help but fall in love with.
The wit, the banter, the snark (especially from Andie) left me with a big ol' smile on my dial. They are both such strong characters, but full of vulnerabilities that make them feel more real.
Find yourself a nice cool (or warm if you are up north) spot, grab a cuppa and settle in for a couple of hours of pure enjoyment.

What happens in Vegas might not stay in Vegas afterall!
I love Cat Johnson's SEAL series, each and every one is just a little adventure.
Craig and Mary Elizabeth's story is like a male and a female fantasy coming try. Hers about a man in uniform sweeping her off her feet. His the hot for teacher thing.

I think Craig quite quickly became one of my favourite Cat Johnson SEAL. There was just something about him that got to me.
What I did feel though was that things felt a little unfinished. Not so much with Craig and Mary, but with things that happened. Especially with the stuff in the Middle East - it is hard to say what I am talking about without putting spoilerish things in here. Things kinds of happened and then... nothing. But this could just be me.
But one thing is for sure - when I am in Vegas later in the year I am going to go see Thunder From Down Under and try to score myself a SEAL!
