Dying Wish by Margaret McHeyzer
5.0

ARC received for an honest review

Firstly, I want to say that I don't read may YA books these days. I am an old fart and sometimes they are just waaaaaay too young for me.

But a Margaret McHezyer YA is oe that I will always pick up and read.

Before you start, make sure you pick up some of these - you are going to need them

It is hard for me to write this review without spoiling anything, but the title alone should lead you to know it is going to hurt like a bitch to read.

Alice, Elijah and Becky's story (no cheating or threesomes, their stories are just intertwined) is a beautiful, but heartbreaking story of love and loss.

I messaged the author whilst I was reading this book, cursing her for the fact that my heart had been ripped out, torn to pieces and trodden on as I was reading. This is such an emotional book, if you don't shed at least one tear you must not have a heart! I am not a huge crier (sure I get tears) when reading, but this was an USC (ugly snot cry) book for me.

"What we'll have won't be epic Alice. It will be legendary."

I became emotionally invested in our lovelies. Their story gripped me like a vice around my heart, and I had to know what would happen to them all.

I did let Ms McHeyzer know that I would be sending her a bill for all the tissues I needed during my read.

I had to walk away on more than one occasion as the raw, gritty emotion got to me. But I couldn't stay away for long.

Buy this book. Read it. It is amazing.
