Heartbreaking. Heartwarming. An emotional rollercoaster.
Just a few of the words to describe The Hardest Goodbyes.
I have been a fan of this series since I first stumbled across Ms Roan's work when she first started publishing. And this.. this book was everything.
Happiness can be found when and where you least expect it, and Daniel and Cade's love had me laughing, had me in tears. Filled my heart with hope.
It was great to get the rest of the McClendon's and more of my book husband Grant.
Can't wait for the next book in this series!

Rookie Move is the first in the Brooklyn Bruisers series, but if you have read the Ivy Years series, you will have already met our boy Leo Trevi.
Who says your high school sweetheart can't be your forever?
Leo never got over Georgia, even when she dumped him. 6 years down the track and their worlds have collided once again. But can they make their way back to each other?
I adored Leo. From the first SNAFU to the last word, my heart was just so full of hope for them both. I wanted, no needed them to get things sorted.
Ms Bowen has written a story with just the right amount of ups and downs, laughter and tears, and oh so sexy times.
I adored the Ivy Years series, and I am pretty sure I will love the Brooklyn Bruisers just as much.
Now I am impatiently waiting for what she brings us next.

It is no secret how much I love the boys of the Mavericks, but after the little hints and glimpses of things in Sweet Spot, I have been impatiently waiting for Change Up.
What a complicated complex tale we have here. Kevin and Clint's story is never going to be an easy one for them. Throw in Kevin's girlfriend Amber and things just got a whole lot more complex.
I loved the push/pull between our lovelies. The confusion, the hurt, the anger, the sorrow. The heat, the chemistry.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to slap some sense into them at times, or to hug them both, and get them to hug it out.
I loved that we got more of the Maverick boys from the previous books. Little snippets of their lives, enough to keep me wanting more.
I am going to say thought that I did not connect as well with Kevin and Clint as I did with previous couples in the book. I am not sure if it is because I have been unwell when reading and it took me out of it a little bit, or if it was that the characters at times were so disconnected from each other? Don't let this dissuade you though! I am sure it is just me!
This book (and all the books in the Homerun series) can be read as standalones, but I love that the characters each keep popping up in the next book.
Ms Johnson has become one of my must read m/m authors, and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

Dylan Caprese - that is all you need to know!
Oh, you want more? We, OK then! But - imagine the guy on the cover while you are reading - humina humina!!
Like a lot of readers, I have read a lot of BDSM-themed books since a certain Seattle billionaire came to our notice, and this one does not disappoint - though really in this book there is not much "play" but more the tease and the hint of the act - delayed gratification anyone?
Dylan is wonderful. Yes, he is a Dom, but unlike so many other books, right from the start you can feel the love in his actions. He does not just see Tasha as his possession, he has feelings from her right from the start, and slowly brings her into his world, not just throwing it at her. No red rooms and collars, this book is about earning trust, which was a like a fresh breeze through the genre.
But don't get me started on the term of endearment - precious.
Every time I read the word, I heard Gollum in my head! I was waiting for Hobbits to come visit!
Tasha, being just out of an emotionally abusive relationship does not appreciate the fact that he sees her as his, and is constantly flip-flopping about what he means to her - gah! I can understand why she is skittish, but gees! Give the poor man a break!!
I loved the support characters Tommy and Zeke - though Holly's actions, not so much.
I liked that we got both Tasha and Dylan's POV's in the one book. I know not everyone likes this, but Sloan has written both characters so well that it is not hard to enjoy both.
I think Sloan Johnson is onto a winner with this series, and I cannot wait to read Tommy and Zekes's stories.
Would have been 5 stars, but I couldn't get past the precious/Gollum thing!!

Remember that movie from the 90's, The American President, where the President falls in love with a lobbyist, and it could be detrimental to his career?
That was the vibe I got from In My Arms Tonight.
Mayoral candidate Alex and political journalist Kat Cullen's relationship didn't start off in the normal way, and from that moment on it was on like Donkey Kong. There is so much spark between them, but both of them know that it can't be. They know what being together could do to both of their careers, but also know that what they feel doesn't come along every day.
I adored the push/pull between them. And not just between them, but also in each of their minds.
I wanted them to be together, I wanted them to say stuff it, let's do this. I wanted them to take that leap, to take a chance on falling in love.
I felt for Kat when she had to make decisions about doing what she knows she has to do and protecting the man she is falling for.
I did feel though that when things happened, they were all wrapped up a little too nicely and a lot to quickly for my liking (but this may just be me). I wanted more anger, more angst, maybe some begging and pleading! Don't get me wrong, I wanted them to have a HEA but I wanted them to fight for it. I kind of felt that things were a little unfinished (again, this could just be me).
I am not going to lie - it did take me a while to connect with both characters, but Kat more than Alex. I think what we got of Alex at the beginning helped with the connect. It also took a while for me to feel the connection between the pair, but once I did it was quite palpable.
This is my first Sasha Clinton read, and I will read more in the future.

The Queen of Angst M. Robinson has done it again.
Each and every time I read a new book from her I tell myself it can't be any better than the last one.
And then she blows me away once again.
We met Alejandro "El Diablo" Martinez in Crave Me, but you don't have to have read it to get into El Diablo (though why you would want to miss a word this woman writes is beyond me).
I was up way past my bedtime on a work night to finish reading El Diablo. And boy, is this man a devil.
But each and every time I though of him as El Diablo, he would do something to throw my head and heart into a state of confusion.
"I'm the wolf, the one your momma warned you to stay away from."

This book needs to come with a #MindFuckWarning - then again, I should never expect anything less from Ms Robinson!
I went through the whole emotional rollercoaster, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. Love and hate. Fear and joy. Pain, so much pain.
And just when I thought I had my head around what was going on... my mind was blown again. There were some things that I really, really did not see coming!
"It was overwhelming. It was frightening. It was all consuming. It. Was. Everything."
I don't want to give anything away in my review as El Diablo, as with all M. Robinson books, is something you need to experience for yourself.
Chapter by chapter, page by page you are drawn into the Devil's world, the darkness that consumes him and those around him.
Gah, I really am not doing this book any justice with my words. It is the next day and I am still trying to process everything that I read.
Like Nike says, just do it. Jump in the deep and and read El Diablo. You won't be disappointed.

I have not read the first in this series, however this did not affect my reading of book 2.
There is a heck of a lot going on in Mercenary. From the strange man on her doorstep to the last word, Madelyn and Declan's story is full of mystery, suspense, intrigue and is packing a whole lot of heat.
I was never completely sure who is the good guy, who I could trust, and who I liked or didn't like.
I did like Declan, even with all his coming and going, faffing around trying to make up his mind about Madelyn. I wanted to junk punch him and hug him at the same time.
I liked that Madelyn wasn't one of those woe-is-me women. She was pretty tough considering what was going on.
it has been a few days and I still haven't made up my mind about the instigator of all Madelyn's current problems. Not sure whether I love or hate them for things that have happened.
It did take me a few reads to get through this book - but this is probably just me and my headspace at the time.
This is my first Michele Mannon book, and I will read more as I come across them.

I have read a few Debra Anastasia books in the past so I had a bit of an idea of what to expect.
Hazel is brilliant. This is how I picture her for the first half of the book!

She is snarky and perhaps a little bit broken and bitter after a break up.
"Pounding three glasses in less than fifteen minutes was going to make her feel like she was getting tea-bagged by an angry clown in the morning."
Wolf... well, what is there to say about Wolf. Dark Lashes, hot as Hades.
And drives Hazel crazy!
Fighting is foreplay for Wolf and Hazel. They bicker and snarl, the piss and vinegar is just one big lead up to the main event.
They are so adorable in their denial of their attraction to each other. To be a fly on the wall (or their best friends watching from the sidelines!)
I laughed, I cried, I got angry but most of all I wanted, no needed Hazel and Wolf to get their HEA.
Thank you Ms Anastasia for another great read.

I was all grabby hands, waiting waiting waiting for Banking Her (well OK it wasn't that long a wait, but still)
I needed more of my man Thatch - and I loved what Max Monroe has given us.
From the first moan to the last, I couldn't put this book down. I love how Thatch is now that he is in daddy mode. I loved how amusing it is to everyone else. What can I say, I just loved it all.
Cassie and Georgia are in fine form. Kline, Thatch and Wes are on point.
And then there is Winnie. Oh Wes and Winnie, it is like Field of Dreams. If you build it (or put them in the same room) they will come!
"For the love of God, I need a shrink. Or an orgasm...from Wes Lancaster."
It seems fighting is foreplay with this pair, and things are starting to come to a head. It is going to be hot and heavy when it rains down!
I laughed out loud so many time during my read
Not much more I can say about this quick, sexy, funny read - other than buy it! You won't be disappointed!
