It is no secret that I adore hockey. I adore hockey books, hockey movies etc etc etc
And I am absolutely and irrevocably in love with the Assassins series.
Is it really already book 8 in this series? And in my opinion, it has gotten better each and every book.
Rushing The Goal is Lucy Sinclair (sister of the Sinclair boys from the Bellevue Bullies books) and Assassin Benji.
Oh how I love Benji right from the very first word. I just couldn't wait for what would happen with him next.
Lucy, well she is a different kettle of fish. I like her but she was quite a prickly character to begin with - though as the story continues I could completely understand why and in the end adored her even more because of it.
But when they got together - my heart just exploded. They are both so terribly mistrusting and broken, and to see the walls around their hearts disintegrate was lovely.
There are so many funny, sweet, sexy and poignant moments in this book. I didn't want to put it down.
But there were also points where I just wanted it to be over - not because I didn't like the story, not at all. It was all because of one particular character and his actions.
I very rarely have such a visceral reaction to a character, but OMG this guy Rick made me so angry. I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. My body physically stiffened with anger as he came into play. I wanted to crawl into my kindle and nut punch him! I wanted the story to be over so that he would be out of it and our lovelies could make their way off into the sunset.
Then there is the little scene stealer Angie - Lucy's daughter. There is not one thing to not love about her. She is like a 40 year old woman in a 7 year old's body. But with all the pure innocence of a child.
I loved that we got more of the Assassins from the previous books and their families. I feel like over the years that they have become part of my extended family, and I wanted, needed to know a little bit more about them all.
I can only hope that we get more in the future.

Wow - what a ride was taken on with The Sins That Bind Us.
This is the first Geneva Lee book that I have read, but I can tell you now that it will not be the last.
Faith and Jude's story is raw and gritty. Please remain seated and leave arms and legs inside the carriage, as you are going to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster
Secrets, lies, half-truths - they all come out in the end, and it is a bit of a shot in the dark how things will go.
I really enjoyed this story. The fears, the worries, the feelings of helplessness leap off the pages. As much as it hurt my heart and maybe, just maybe made my eyes leak, I couldn't put this book down as I wanted, no needed to know what happened next.
The scene stealer in this story is definitely little man, Max. He reminds me so much of my nephew when he was that age, going through some similar kinds of issues.
Now, off to find something lighthearted and breezy to read!

This carries on directly where Alasdair finishes up, so you will need to have read it first.
All I can say about Isadora is... WOW! What a book! If you thought Alasdair was a ride, you ain't seen nothing yet!
At the end of Book 1, we were at a bit of a cliffy and I needed to know what happened to Isadora, Alasdair and Thanos, the Ancients and the not-quite-human humans.
And man oh man, I was not disappointed! Things certainly did get ramped up in Isadora! Not only do we get Isadora's story, but a big chunk of the story (well, IMO anyway) was given to the continuation of Leo and Alasdair's story.
The sexy factor in Isadora is through the roof - who doesn't love a bit of m/m vamp action (and maybe a bit of m/m/m and f/f too!). It is erotic, suspenseful and kept me reading way past my bedtime! I just couldn't put it down, I needed to know what was going to happen to them all.
And there is a great set up of Thanos' book throughout Isador.
I am not a huge paranormal read - I am very picky and choosy about which para books I will read, but even if you are not normally a paranormal reader but love sexy m/m action, you need to read the Masters Among Monsters series. Now. This minute. What are you waiting for?

It's always a great day when you wake up to a Pucked novel waiting on your kindle.
Alex and Violet's story had me in stitches in their first book, Pucked (which you will definitely need to have read before Forever Pucked). And their antics are just as funny in their wedding book.
But maybe, just maybe, the drooly beavers and Super MC's were just a little bit over the top this time? Don't get me wrong, I love Violet, she is my spirit animal, but at times she was just too, too much this time around.
I loved that it wasn't all beave hugs and sexy times with Forever Pucked. There were some more sombre issues that Alex and Violet had to go through that I felt made them a more rounded couple, and at times broke my heart a little.
I adored that we got more of the rest of the Pucked guys and gals. I especially loved the banter between the ladies. OMG, they are such dirty, dirty girls - and I loved each and every one of them.
I wanted to climb into the book and tell Alex's mum to STFU - god she annoyed me most the time (but that could just be me!)
Forever Pucked was a funny, sexy, at times frustrating, but wonderful story of a beaver and MC finding their HEA - and I can't wait to see where everyone's stories go in the future.
Please Ms Hunting - I NEEEEED Darren and Charlene's story. Oh, and Lance Romance's too!
This time next week sounds like a good time to get more, don't you think hehe

Ainslie Paton is the queen of the role reversal. Each and every time I pick up one of her books, I know that there is going to be something different about her story.
And this time, we have a 28 year old male virgin! And not a whimpering, simpering kind of guy. He is - or was - successful in business, but as a person he is brusque, kind of a bully - not at all a people person. I can imagine how easy it would be for him to p!ss people off. But I couldn't help but love him in all his sexy nerdy cluelessness.
Zarley is mourning the loss of her dreams, and now is doing what she can to make a better life for herself.
When their worlds collide, things are never going to be the same again for either of them.
I loved the spark between our lovelies. LOVED that they didn't jump straight into bed with each other. Adored the banter and the lessons they taught each other.
Loved that they strived to be better people.
I am not going to lie. When things happened between Reid and his friends/former business partners, my heart was shredded and it was hard to read through the snotty tears. Thanks for that - I may need to send you the bill for tissues!
I just wanted them to make it through today to create a wonderful future together!
I adored every second of Offensive Behavior. Ms Paton always, and I mean always give us a wonderful story that dances to the beat of a different drummer, and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

This is the 3rd book in the New York's finest series, and although I have not read the first two this has not affected my enjoyment of the Cuff Me. I have read other books by Ms Layne so I knew what I was in for with Cuff Me.
And I really did enjoy this book.
You never know what you've got till it's gone, isn't that how the saying goes.
That's how it is for Vincent Moretti when his partner, his best friend, Jill Henley comes back from leave engaged.
The emotions jumped off the pages as Vin comes to terms with losing Jill - even though technically she was never his. Everyone around them knows how he feels. You could feel his hurt as he tries to come to terms with this new man in her life.
This is a friends-to-lovers/work partners-to-lovers read, and one that had me drawn in from the beginning. The UST between our lovelies is off the charts. You just know that things are going to be explosive if/when they get their act together.
There is great banter between the characters, and especially with Vin's family. They had me laughing out loud at times, and even though they taunt each other, it is done with so much love.
These are two characters that I just wanted with my whole soul to be together. No one else would do.
But do they get together? For that you will need to read for yourself.
Ms Layne is one of those authors that you know you are going to get a smile out of reading.
I look forward to going back and reading the first two books in this series, and look forward to more in the future.

Magic what? Mike Who? Move over Thunder from Downunder
Who needs those guys when we have the guys from Wild Nights revue?
This is the story ofBrad (Surferboy) and Em (Pixie) - they quickly met at the end of Revue, remember?
I think Em is my spirit animal. I loved how she was outspoken, brash, ballsy. But inside she is also confused, harsh on herself. She suffers from depression and has internal struggles that she hides from the rest of the world. I have been there, felt those feelings, self doubt, uselessness.
She is also torn between sexy as sin Brad, and H - the man she has never met but only texted for the past 2 years. She feels H is kind of her saviour and is unsure of her feelings for him. Can she have the same feelings for him as she has for the flesh and blood man-meat in front of her?
It may just be me, but I found H creepy right from the start. Just something about him made the skin crawl.
I loved the wit, the humour, the laugh out loud moments (there were plenty of them!). But there were also some darker, suspenseful moments. There was a twist in the tale that I was not expecting!
I adored that we got more of Cori and Josh, and especially that their relationship wasn't all plain sailing - they had such a rocky road to begin with, it wouldn't have been right if they just wandered off into the sunset all smiles.
I also love the banter between Cori and Em, but more so the way the boys all play off against each other. I can only imagine the fun it would be to spend any time with with.
And I think I have a bit of a crush on Dimps - so I am claiming him right now.
Reveal is a sexy, smutty, sensual and funny books that I didn't want to put down once I started.
Can't wait to see who's story we get next.

I have adored everything I have read to date from Ms Van Dyken, and The Matchmaker's Playbook is no exception.
Ian Hunter is a wingman - teaching women the tricks of the trade to get the man that they want.
And he is good at it.
Then he meets Blake Hensley. She is the complete opposite to him, more tomboy than woman - and he finds her irrestistible!
Oh how I adore Blake. 1992 called and wants their scrunchies back! I couldn't help but fall for her dorkiness, he cluelessness to how wonderful she is.
There were plenty of laugh out loud moments, but there were also plenty of deeper, sentimental and emotional moments.
The Matchmaker's Playbook is a funny, unique love story - Ms Van Dyken does good rom-com!
There are some great secondary stories, particularly Lex and Gabi - Ian's two best friends. They bicker like nobody's business, but you can feel that spark between them. Things are going to be explosive if they get their act together!
Ms Van Dyken just has that knack with whatever genre she is writing at the time - from rom-com, to mafia to vampires. I am drawn in each and every time.
Can't wait for more in the Wingmen series.

Brave Enough is the 3rd in the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series but can be read as a stand alone.
M Leighton has done it again with Brave Enough. Tag and Weatherley's story is full of heat and passion. From the minute they meet there is a spark that cannot be denied.
It think of all 3, Tag quite easily has become my favourite of the Tall, Dark and Dangerous men. Can you say Swoon??
But the road to true love is never going to be a smooth one, and when secrets and lies are thrown into the mix, well let's just say that it throws a few extra bumps into the road. I was always curious about the woman that would bring Tag to his knees - and what a woman she is!
M. Leighton does dark, brooding and sexy in a way that no other does, and I love getting swept away with our lovelies each and every time.
I utterly enjoyed this series, and can't wait to see what Ms Leighton brings us next.
