I finished the audiobook all in one day because hearing Jill’s story and how she’s grown in all areas since the show first started was amazing to hear. 

She’s gone entering rifts and valleys and has come through the one on top.

While yes this is a tell-all memoir with some new information, there’s a lot we already knew from media but she gave additional information.

I’m surprised she touched on the comments Derrick put on Twitter and wish she wouldn’t expanded a little more to realize how hurtful those comments were to many, but that’s Derrick’s comments for him to atone for. 

I don’t think this was meant to put down any of her family, but instead to show her growth. 

Above all, it’s amazing to see just how much some therapy can help you.

I may be a biased Peloton owner but I loved this. Cody is one of my favorite instructors and the energy he shares in this book is the same he exudes on the bike. 

Cody shares a bit of self help plus more on his childhood with a mother fighting addiction.

Highly recommend on audio 👏🏻

Can’t wait to attend a book event for him soon. 

Thanks to the publisher for this review copy. Obviously this one is working for a lot of people, but it is not for me at this time. I may consider picking it up at a different time. 

DNF @ 60%

When I say I tried, I TRIED. 

I’ve been reading this since June 10th (today is September 10th) and I only got to 60%. 

I don’t mind dark books, but this is DARK and bleak - making for a combination that had me putting down my kindle after each chapter. I tried this on Kindle via eGalley as well as audio from Libby. 

While I know that it’s important for authors to inform readers of things that often get forgotten by using fiction, I get concerned when they started using overly descriptive language that seems like it would fit more in a romance novel.  

I wish that she had used the River aspect more because once that was gone, there was no flow. 

I finally set it down once animal neglect was added in because of course the author just has to pile on more dark things. 

I will say, the narrator for this is fantastic. Without the audio, I’m not sure I would have gotten to 60%. 

I made it 6%, I'm sorry but Ami is insufferable. 

If she was a real person, I could almost justify why her ex cheated on her because wow. 

Oh the girlies are going to hate this. 

The last few chapters could’ve been filled in a bit more, I had to rewind to make sure I understood what happened 

Unfortunately, this one is a DNF for me and I'm sad because with how the Fabled Bookstore talked about it in their preview, I thought it would be right up my alley. 

This was just moving way too slow, the chapters are too long, there were too many characters introduced, and nothing had really happened beyond the initial disappearance of a woman that worked on a plantation. 

I made it to chapter four and at that point the detective hadn't learned anything new at all. In fact we learned more about his past than anything to do with the actual crime. For such a short book, it was going nowhere.
