Kitty really seemed undisturbed by the carnage in this installment. I expected a wave of guilt after one of the main plots wrapped and left some innocent bystanders dead, but she never really revisits it. Still enjoy these books for a relaxing and easy read.

This is a less pretentious and down to earth Eat Pray Love. Substitute a temple in India for a motel in Minnesota. Tried this book when I was 24 or so and barely made it a chapter. Now, after being married and a mother, it spoke to me differently - and mostly about my mother. Once in awhile I stumbled into a passage or idea that is devastatingly relatable to my life that I gave a little frightened gasp. Any mother and wife who, while acknowledging their privilege, has ever searched for meaning in the day to day monotony of life can relate to Nan.

Cheesy, trashy, violent. Just how I like it! This series has a majorly fun setting (post apocalyptic Seattle) but this installment is light on the witchcraft and witch lore. Lots of cliché romance lines, but that's ok. Reading this for fun.
