This book was pretty adorable, I’ll grant you. And a big hurrah for girls who code! But I’ll admit I got a little frustrated with Dimple and Rishi hashing out essentially the same dispute every 20 pages or so.

This was so incredibly unlike all other historical romance (at least that I've read). It had that weird intensity that I noted in my review of The Weight of the Stars that I generally enjoy but sometimes find to be a tad pretentious. I was leaning in the pretentious direction at the very beginning of the book, but at some point, I just lost myself to enjoying the book, and suddenly my evening had flown by. Felicity was an incredibly likable heroine and while I was frustrated by the inclusion of one of my least favorite romance plot points
SpoilerYou know... the one where the man breaks up with the woman because he just knows she'd be better off without him so he'd rather drive her away than force her to suffer through being with him. Yeah, that one. Yes, it's incredibly stupid and I hate it a lot.
overall I would say that the romance in this book was fairly convincing and well fleshed-out. I look forward to continuing the series:)

I've always genuinely loved Twilight -- it's a perfect guilty pleasure. I marathon the movies several times a year but I actually hadn't reread the books since I first read them in middle school, so here we are, on a impulse read. Is the relationship bad? Is Edward a bad, creepy person? Yes, obviously. Nonetheless, the Twilight books and movies are fun, and will continue to be something I turn to when I'm bored or sick probably forever. And I'm okay with that.

I've always ranked New Moon lowest in my ranking of the books (in terms of movies BD1 has to be even lower) but upon the reread it didn't feel worse than Twilight at all. It's different...less Edward, more Jacob. Bella's grief is stunning, but her reactions to it actually make her a slightly more interesting character in this book than I felt she was in the last. All in all, doesn't deserve the hate I give it, even though my movie ranking stands.
