- the exploration and explanation of the kpop world and how it works (especially since i'm not a fan of kpop and had no idea. however if i did know anything about kpop, i think i'd be annoyed)

- the romance wasn't that good
- the writing style is just not for me. it is very simple and with the book in first person, it makes the book feel amateur. the book is straight to the point and not in a good way. a lot of the sentences are "I" this and "I" that, making the book less YA and more MG. not only that, but it pulls me out of the book and the romance so much because they feel like children.

- the formatting of the book

- the fact that there is history between the two main characters
- i could not see any spark or connection between the main characters, especially since it was all developed in the past, before the books stars

i'm disappointed, honestly this series has gotten worse, especially when the books started focusing less on the people in the New York Journal or New York Chronical. we get the occasional cameo (by that i means the same one person every time), but other than that, there isn't a reason why this is a series other than the fact that it is set in the same universe.

- the characters, i used to love them, but this book only highlights how flawed (in a bad way) and childish most of them are
- i honestly did not care about juliette or her true backstory until the last 5 pages
- i also did not care about the rest of the world and the reestablishment, until the last 5 pages

it took me over a year and 4 attempts of starting to finally get back to reading this book/series, simply because i was in a reading slump last year, and because i already liked the way that the first half of the series ended. That, in addition to the

butchering of Warner's hair

in the first chapter, (jk, kinda) it made me not like the introduction to this book. i just didn't want to ruin the ending that I had already enjoyed.

but after all of the hints i got from booktok, i just decided to bite the bullet and continue the series, this time with an audiobook and knowing that this book would literally have to kill me to get a 4 or 5 star rating.

i was going to give this book a 1 star rating, but then that ending. those last 5 pages.

so now i have foolishly given myself hope that the next few books will be good... and i will be continuing the series (after a break of course). :P
