- the idea of friends to lovers and them going on vacation together

- this book is only in one POV
- Poppy is obsessed with bringing up Alex's ex girlfriends/hook-ups
- this book did have some development where Poppy and Alex met and became friends, but the part where we transition from friends to lovers is lacking. like i do not see their connection.

if it comes to reading about people younger than me, or people older than me, i choose younger. i don't love high school romances, but i like them more than adult romances. which honestly isn't saying much.

everything i read a new adult romance, i am acutely aware of the fact that they are adults who don't know how to properly communicate, causing 90% of the problems in these books

- there is so much talk about romance books and how it is negatively perceived. i appreciate what the book is trying to do, but unfortunately it is failing and just plain annoying
- main character plans everything, in a bad way
- Rowan's friends are right, she is obsessed with Neil
- the other students being jealous or angry at Neil and Rowan is so stupid. no one actually thinks like that.
