A wonderful addition to gothic horror. Moreno-Garcia's writing is sharp and witty at times, and others very visceral and gritty. The juxtaposition works perfectly for this type of horror. Noemí's character is delightful to follow: smart, charming, and strong. The reveal of what's happening exceeded my expectations for what I enjoy in horror, and it's a concept I'll continue to reflect on long after my first read!!

I adored this series! This one was even better than the first. There's such a dark and mysterious aura to it combined with the lighthearted dialogue and characters. It leaves me craving more. Can't recommend enough!

I really enjoyed this novel, and it's made me want to get into more mystery novels! I had picked this up at a bookstore without realizing it was the third in a series, so I will be buying the first two promptly. Perveen is such a compelling and smart protagonist, and I love the setting of early 1900s India!
