Honestly, I didn't really believe these two make any sense together and their character arcs weren't enough for me to believe they'd last in any way. However, the smut was fun and the town of Merry is pretty cool.
I thought it started out good and then I realized that the dialogue was low-key terrible and once I noticed that it was game over. It was one of those books where when they said I love you for the first time I audibly groaned, and not in a good way.
Sometimes I want to be the person who reads and fully enjoys a spice free YA novel, but I mostly just get bored.
I'll be thinking about this book for a while. There were moments when I swore I hated this book because it made me think about things that aren't very pleasant, but once I completed the book I am glad that I read it. I am not a historical romance reader, but this actually kept my attention the whole time. Usually, I get so bored that I give up, but there wasn't time for that in this book. I would say that it is different than most romance novels I read, and it leans more towards women's fiction than romance.
The entire premise of this book is batshit bananas.... and yet, here I am ready to roll onto the next book immediately. I got the ick so hard that I rounded the corner back into no ick and I can't even explain it.
I was truly over the moon for The Kiss Quotient, but just couldn't get there with this book. I'm still very much looking forward to the third in the series.
An adorably well-done novella with a good amount of spice! This would be perfect for a quick road trip listen.
This story made me feel very reflective. The subject matter is heavy and emotional, however the book and characters still feel hopeful and real. There is a romance and some spice within the pages, but it is mostly about the life and struggles of our main character. Good read, but not the book if you're looking for light and casual reading.
I feel as if I liked the IDEA of this book, but I was honestly mostly just bored while listening to it.
This is one of those books with an alpha hole MMC that just makes me question some things. There's a whole lotta red flags, but they sure feel nice and green in a fictional book. Dante is straight fire and I'm a sucker for Italians. I have no shame.
"You're mine and no one touches what's mine."
"I'm an asshole, yet you're dripping all over my hand. What does that say about you?"
"You look good in control, mia cara."
