I read this ARC the weekend I received it and literally stayed up until 230 am because I couldn't stop reading.

However, the release has been delayed and there will be updates/changes to include better representation of her Latine characters. I will re-read and review once I receive and read that copy.

Update re-read:
A month later was probably too soon to do a full re-read of this book. I still really loved it and I truly appreciate the work Morgan put into this book to give her Latine character more depth and life. My only issue is that the mystery and angst isn't as gripping when you literally just read it and know exactly what's going to happen, lol! I could NOT put the book down the first time and I was on the edge of my seat. The second time, it was fun to read to see what I missed that first time but I didn't feel like I was unable to breathe like the first time. Still wonderful smut like always.

There was a lot that I enjoyed about this book, but the final 1/3 does hinge on a secret and I know that's not always everyone's cup of tea. Sometimes it feels a bit dated and annoying to read that (JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER) so that's why I'm giving this 3.5 stars. I liked the writing style and the characters were fun to read. This was listed as "erotica" but I would not classify this book that way at all. Yes, there are spicy scenes but there is far too much plot and character development and nowhere near enough dirty stuff to consider this erotica.


I had never heard of Zoey Castile before, but I'm happy she is now on my radar.

This book is unnecessarily long and I somehow read all of the pages and never actually fell in love or deeply connected with any of the characters. Basically, I just stayed for the spice.

First thoughts: I'm enjoying the setup and the characters however, I do think the book would benefit from another edit. There's several times within the first three chapters that we're being given the same information more than once. I think the writing could be tightened up and made stronger. BUT, we're at chapter four over here and the SPICE IS NICE.

Okay, I really really wanted to like this but I found myself getting really frustrated by how often things are repeated and how much we're TOLD. I want to be shown things and instead I felt like I was just being told the same thing over and over, but then random things went missing. This book could be so so good and it just missed the mark for me. I honestly stayed for the spice because it was FIRE.

I am just not connecting to third person POV right now. My brain is trying to listen and is just full on ignoring it. I will probably try again though.

I liked this better than Beautiful Bastard. I was able to connect to these characters more and felt as if there was more plot to this story. A fun, light read but not the kind of story or characters that stick with me for ages. Nevertheless, I would totally recommend to others!

That epilogue though.... oofda. Excuse me while I sob at my work desk.

Loved this! I tend to struggle with novellas, but this was just a quick cute story with low drama and low angst.

I would like to thank Kennedy Ryan for this bonus content, but I STILL NEED MORE.
