Honestly, the main characters annoyed me and the whole ex-wife situation was just too much and never-ending.
This book's main female character is bisexual and deals with some bi-erasure towards the beginning of the story. I appreciated learning about an experience that can be very real for some people, however when I saw the trigger warning I definitely expected much more of the story to include this aspect. It felt more like an overarching example of why Tiffany may react in certain ways and not a basis of the story. Just an FYI for future readers.
I enjoyed the level of spice (I'd rate it level 2 or 3 on the spicy scale) and appreciated the conversations and dialogue that Tiffany and Sam have in regards to their sexual relationship. Reading about these things may help others to see how beneficial and necessary the conversations can be without being awful or awkward.
This was a quick and easy read that I think anyone could appreciate. I just never truly lost myself in the book, nor connected to the characters in a deep and emotional way but sometimes we're just looking for a book exactly like this one.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

There's a ton of trigger warnings to be aware of in this one: pregnancy, pregnancy loss, grief, abandonment, mental health struggles, weapons at school, homelessness, bullying...
It's a quick listen with lots of heat and fiery love.

I'll give this book about a 3.5 rating. It is a "How to Lose a Guy in 10 days" gender-bent retelling and it has been so long since I've seen that movie that I forgot the ick I felt from that one, too. The lying just gets under my skin and I no likey. Also, they are straight up lying to each other but somehow fall madly in love with this half truth person in like 2 weeks? My suspension of disbelief just isn't that good. There's some great parts to this book, but
Spoiler
when she went and tried on wedding dresses, you full on lost me.
Honestly, I was so bored and the only reason I didn't DNF it was because I just want to make sure I have enough books to finish a challenge I'm doing. The dialogue felt strange and the first time a character dropped an "I LOVE HER" my immediate reaction was "BUT WHY?!"
4.5 STARS!
This was so good and the narration was delightful! Love Notes was my first book by Christina C. Jones and it will absolutely not be my last. There's some spicy in here, but I fell in love with the heart and the way their relationship is so supportive and real and understanding.

The idea of the plot sounded really interesting, but I kinda hated these characters. Also, I got lost along the way with all the dream vs reality stuff, and the two side plots we not well developed. I cared so little about these people that I'm pretty sure I got lost because my mind wandered so much while listening to it. So then I sped it up so I could finish it and make it count towards my reading goal, but... meh.
A sweet, low-angst novel that was a calming delight to listen to. There's a decent amount of spice, and the book feels like a good pallet cleanser. Not a ton happens, but you're immersed in the world of college with BIPOC staff and the various issues that arise. I enjoyed it.
I knew this was going to be a 5-star book before I even finished it. I loved this so hard. It's so beautiful and wonderful and endearing and sweet and adorable and quippy and funny and delightful and a little sad but also mostly hopeful and perfect. Florence and Ben are perfection and the way they talk to each other through jokes and puns made my heart swell a million times over. Every time I noticed a nod to one of my favorite books or movies I wanted to fully kick my legs and giggle like a schoolgirl. "I've heard there's a shortage of perfect breasts." or "They wrote a song and used only the good notes." I love love LOVED the way these quotes were just floated into the story and no attention was given to them. They are just tiny easter eggs for the lovers of romance to pick up along the way. I borrowed this audiobook from the library, but I will be purchasing my own copy to have and to hold for forever and ever. Currently, 3 seconds after finishing the book, the only negative thought I have is that I'll never get to read this book for the first time ever again.
