I picked this up because reading the description I was like "Oh, that sounds fun".
Spoiler alert: Twas not fun for me. I was bored and actually literally rolled my eyes a few times. Just not for me.

I love me the spice that Morgan Elizabeth writes, but I just cannot do the Daddy kink. It is not my jam and for some reason Ben just didn't even feel like the daddy kink guy? It felt forced to me. This was just not my favorite book of hers.
I ended up buying the last two in this trilogy because I got the first one and it ended on a cliffhanger. Honestly, I felt all around annoyed by this trilogy, but yet I kept reading....
I'm a sucker for a friends to lovers book, but just a heads up that this one is clean. (That's just not my normal type of book.) The book did feel a bit juvenile to me, but I can feel the potential with the author's writing and I bet it'll get better with each cool l book she completes. The book was sweet, and there were definitely moments where I didn't want to put it down, but the end wrapped up in a way that was a bit boring.
*Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.*

I was going back and forth on whether I should give this 3 or 4 stars because I did truly enjoy reading it and couldn't put it down -- once I got into it. It did take a bit for me to get hooked and I think a bit of that might be due to the writing style. I know this is an ARC copy and editing can still take place but it felt a bit too unpolished sometimes. Nevertheless, I loved the story and the characters and my heart just ached for Cata and all her struggles. I'm a first-generation kid, and reading this book made me feel more connected to my dad and grandparents and everything they went through to move to America. The pain and struggles don't often get spoken about within the family but I know it wasn't easy. I'm grateful this book exists and that I was given the opportunity to read it and I actually wish there was more to it. The end was pretty abrupt and I wanted to dive deeper into their actual relationship and not just the lead-up to having one.
Note: The only spice is one makeout session.

This was a quick, sweet, easy, sapphic read. There are no big emotions or angst and it was the perfect book to break my reading slump.
Our two FMC's are 20 years old and I just felt a bit too old to really connect with these characters. It's a bit teenage angsty but also Kenzie is dealing with A LOT. I didn't hate the book in any way, but I also just don't feel the need to scream about this one from the rooftops. I do plan to read others by Katia, as I've heard great things.
Meh - I turned the speed up on this audiobook to get through it.
