I am normally not a big YA reader, but I'll read anything Casey McQuiston writes. I adored this. Even without the spicy content it just FEELS like a CMQ book and I just love they way they write. Its quippy and so dang smart and peppered with pop culture references in way that makes me giggle instead of cringe.
I love the characters and at first I was really excited that this book is over 600 pages so that I could spend some extended time with them, however I do think it could have benefitted from some editing. There are some slower portions and some unnecessary stuff. I just think it could have been stronger. But I enjoyed it and will absolutley be reading more novels by Haley Cass.
I'll always read a You've Got Mail retelling! This was also my first Claire Kingsley book, and while it wasn't my favorite book ever I can see that there's some good potential here with this author and the spice was decent.
I will definitely read more of hers in search of my favorite! The narrators for this audiobook were great, too!

If you're looking for a quick easy read with a book boyfriend who is a grade-A jerk to everyone until she melts through his tough exterior and figures out the root of his pain, then this is the read for you. It is grumpy/sunshine with a bit of touch her and I'll unalive you vibes.
It was just okay. I'm generally not a fan of age gaps and forbidden romances but I needed to finish out the series.
Okay, so this book solidifies for me that the daddy/baby girl thing just isn't for me. However, I still VERY much liked Ronan so if that is already your thing this book is quite possibly going to knock your socks off.
Honestly, the way booktok talks about this one I was expecting more. More swooning, more naked times, and more dirty talk. It was still an enjoyable read but I wasn't as swept away as I was expecting to be.
There wasn't enough in this to be considered a romance to me. Instead, it was more ChicLit with a splash of romance. The story was okay, but pretty forgettable and the characters all felt just very middle-class white with not a lot of depth.

The book took me a bit to get into, but once I felt like I understood the characters I just couldn't stop. I had fallen in love with all of them.... well, most of them. There are, of course, many characters to despise in a book about the struggles of women in the 1950s/60s. By the book's end, I was enraptured by Elizabeth and Mad and Harriet and Walter. They are all so different but they just work together so well.
I saw in the book's description that it was listed as "laugh-out-loud funny" and I'd just like to warn that there are several traumatic events within the book. I was a bit taken aback by how sad and gut-wrenching it was at times for a book declared laugh-out-loud funny. There are definitely moments where I cackled and giggled but the overall tone is not hilarity and humor, it is raw and poignant but yet hopeful.
