This was unlike anything I've ever read, and even though it was a bit campy and ridiculous it was fun to listen to and it kept my attention.
A super quick and really engaging read. The narrators are fun to listen to!
Honestly, the way Booktok talked about this book I thought it was going to be even spicier than it is. It was a fun read with all the different k!nks to read about, and I'll absolutely keep reading the series, but I just wasn't shout from the rooftops obsessed with this one.
Can't stop, won't stop. I am going to just fly through this entire series and I don't even care. I don't think it is the world's best stories or writing and honestly the forbidden romance doesn't do it for me, HOWEVER I am fascinated by the club and all the people and how they all fit together and all the various options in the club. It's the polar opposite of the purity culture I grew up in and I can't stop reading about it.
YA is generally not my thing (as is evidenced by the schminky books I'm following up with after this read), but I do love and appreciate that the world of YA is becoming so inclusive and diverse! I love learning about different cultures and stepping into a world that was completely unlike my own young adult life.
I know basically nothing about poly relationships and I've seen a few of comments from people who didn't appreciate parts of this book. All I know is that from my experience as a baby bi, there were things I really appreciated in this book, but I would have loved more of Hunter's journey. However, this book is HOT and is currently my favorite of the series.
I loved this and my only complaint is I want more: more depth to the characters and more story. I really want to know more about the history of these characters. We honestly don't know much about Maggie and I want to know everything. But the spice and the k!nk are so freaking good.
The MM Notting Hill retelling I didn't know I needed! I loved this so much, and the few Notting Hill references made me giddy. Hard recommend.
Two bisexuals with complicated family lives are forced into a marriage of convenience and I loved it. There's a bit of k!nk in the book, and the MMC is rather swoony. I just adored him.
