Oofda. It's going to take a bit to process the thoughts and feelings I have after listening to this book. It's real and vulnerable and I just want to give her a big hug.

I really liked this book! Both characters were so wonderful with all their personalities and flaws. I connected with both for different reasons. Also, the spice was great!

A quick steamy read with an interracial couple, a strong AF black woman, and a reformed bad guy.

From the way the book started, I was expecting a heartwrenching deep dive into a healing journey and the accompanying trauma. I expected lots of emotion and passion, and it just didn't quite deliver that. I also felt that there was an excessive amount of varying pop culture references and I believe it would have been stronger if the book just stuck with one main theme (ie - Gilmore Girls). However, I did catch the feels for these characters and the book and felt like my heart was swelling more than a few times. I will be back for more.

(I kinda hated these narrators...)

This book felt a bit like a naughty soap opera, and I will absolutely read another book from Alexandria House. I was a bit annoyed that
Spoiler both of the exes were still fully obsessed with them. I know that both have a slightly different story line and end, but I definitely found myself rolling me eyes at some of it.

An easy read with romance and mystery. There's a tiny bit of spice, but it fades to black pretty quickly which honestly surprised me with how well the lead-up was written. I do love the SmartyPants world, though!

I do not understand the appeal and hype that everyone had over this book. I was left feeling icky after reading this.

I'm usually not a fan of historical romance or novellas, but this book surpassed expectations. The prose is so beautiful and listening to it I actually felt as if I stepped into a new world. I felt like I was being cradled by her voice and the poetry.

There is romance pieces within this story, but it feels more like fiction than romance. However, it is very well done. I saw it described as sort of a Sex and the City vibe, and as someone who never actually watched the show that made sense to me. lol!

This book details some of the pain and struggles black people face in America. There's triggers for police brutality, broken prison systems, and overt and "quiet" racism. I truly appreciate the existence of this book for giving me the opportunity to sit quietly and listen to begin to grasp some of the privileges I have as an average white lady.

I adore a You've Got Mail retelling and this one also was chock full of movie quotes! *Squeal!* I really enjoyed this one.
