Not the most developed characters or storyline I've ever read, but the spice is nice and I'll be back for more!

This one was slightly better than the first in the series, but there were a ton of similarities. As with the first, the spice is nice.

I have to admit that I was expecting more with this book. I've read the synopsis for book 2, and I think this may be a case where you appreciate this first book so much more once you complete the series. I did expect more witchy/halloween vibes than what I actually got. I'm currently trying to bulk up on romance witch books to have recs for TT followers. I'll still rec this book, but with caveats.

One of the reviews I read gave this book one star because "it was basically nothing but sex". That is absolutely false. There is very little actual sex, and it is basically just a book of broken people doing broken things that would have been solved if any one of them went to therapy even like just 3 times.

This was honestly chaos and my brain was just not ready for it today.

This isn't quite the 5-star obsession that Love Hypothesis was for me, but I did really like it! I saw a lot of complaints about how the two books were basically the same, and as an avid spicy romance reader, I can say without a doubt....Who cares? We all have favorite tropes and favorite character types and if I've read 200 books with a cinnamon roll MC and enemies-to-lovers trope I just cannot wrap my head around why it matters if the author wrote two books that have a vaguely similar setup.

I read the first and second in this series because I really thought someone told me there'd be spice....and there isn't. There is one scene that is actually used as an ick factor and not even steamy lead up. This is a magical, campy world full of ridiculous characters and the FMC is pretty great. Its just not what I thought it was.

The only reason I kept reading this series was for the spice. Princess books do not trip my trigger and I wasn't really looking forward to reading it, but I was in the mood for spice. THE SPICE DELIVERED, OMG. And I honestly ended up enjoying the book even with the princess junk all up in there. Hard recommend if you're looking for some flutters in the nether regions.

I freaking love Amy Daws. I love that her books can have heavy topics while also being funny and sexy and heartwarming. I love that her characters are real and the banter is top notch.

If you're in the mood for some hate fucking, Twisted Hate is where its at. If you're not...you might want to look elsewhere.
